I am commenting as an individual, family member, and electrical engineer. My wife has developed an extreme sensitivity to RF emissions with increasing impact on her life. As an engineer, I have been able to validate this through direct experimentation. In a blinded fashion, I turned on the 5G cellular band on a modern iPhone on and my wife reported and rapid onset headache. I then turned off that band and she reported the headache went away. I did this multiple times, including experiments where I never actually changed the setting, and in all cases the headache correlated with turning on the 5G band and abated when it was off. This is a conclusive result that her physical pain is correlated to the proximity to a 5G radiator. In addition, when we are within line of sight to a modern cell tower, she will frequently experience pain and discomfort until we are a significant distance from the tower. This limits her ability to have a routine, pain-free existence and is particularly problematic for office work, travel, etc. These RF fields do not elicit the same response on me as I can directly attest when doing these experiments. My direct experience shows that certain individuals are much more sensitive to RF energy that others. To force someone to endure pain and discomfort simply because they are in a minority or that sensitivity is hard to identify and quantify is inappropriate and a violation of her rights as a citizen. I would strongly encourage additional, objective, blinded research on RF sensitivity as I described above to provide the necessary evidence to guide limits on wavelengths and power levels that are allowed to be used broadly.

Hello, I experienced sleep difficulties and tinnitus when I lived near mobile phone masts. I would like to see a scientific study conducted on people who have lived very close to a mobile mast for several years. Those living in very close proximity are exposed to high levels of radiation, so it would be interesting to see how their health compares to that of people living in areas with average to low radiation levels. It would be a simple study, yet it could provide clear answers regarding the impact of strong background radiation from mobile masts. Good luck with your very important work.

I upgraded my router to 5gz wifi over the course of weeks i was finding i was not getting good sleep, i thought maybe it was the wifi? I turned off the wifi and my sleep improved. I tested this to make sure by turning it back on and my quality of sleep deteriorated. Since then i have abandoned wifi in my home to maintain better sleep and hardwired my home. i have read the work of Becker and a book of dirty electricity, i also have removed the LED lights from my home as they too were messing with my sleep. I have also changed to a job where no phones are aloud which has also helped my health and i get less ringing in my ears which i often get in town centers. The safe limits are based on heat and the idea that harms begin at ionizing radiation like switch is absurd when you consider the laws of physics and the electrical interference that will naturally occur within our bodies when nonnative EMF is introduced. There are thousands of studies on the harms of EMF on the BIOINITIATIVE website, it very clear that none native EMF is very harmful. I believe our institutions are captured by corporations and greed and have incentives to keep kicking the can down the road on this issue not to mention the governments interest in harvesting data and surveillance to the point i think even this survey will be rigged and we progress further with these toxic technologies.

I have been very concerned about the introduction of 5G and the fact that there have been no peer reviewed studies on wireless EMF’s and human health. Now there are plans to roll out 6G. This technology has human health consequences that are not being addressed. Testing would help validate that for the people suffering from EMF exposure and we must force oversight on the installation of this technology near schools and housing.

Dear Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, Firstly, thank you for your genuine concern for public health and safety in relation to electromagnetic radiation (EMR) caused by Cellular Towers, Smart Meters and any other public WIFI devices outside the public possession or control (hotels, venues, shopping centers, etc..); and for your authenticity as politician doing an outstanding public service for the American people and by extension set a fine model for the world in public health and safety. Secondly, we are so glad you are the person who is taking charge and leading this on public health issue caused by EMR. Thirdly, we live in Australia, and our house is approximately 200-300meters direct in line with two 5G Cell Towers from two different telecommunication providers. Every day, my wife and I suffer from the impact of headaches, brain fog, sleep disorder, difficulty speech (me), and more from the effects caused by EMR from these cell towers. I can easily feel and detect when EMF/R wireless radiation is active in my surroundings, because it immediate gives me headache, brain fog, and affects my speech. When I move away the above symptoms go away. Fourthly, the incorruptible true source of the safe EMR level is published in the SBM-2015. This is factual about the Maximum allowable for human health, unlike the other corrupt international standards created to benefited only commercial industries to push back – who used the same tactical playbook as the cigarette companies decades earlier. "The limits that we have now are 25 years old are not protective of human health". Thus, they applied to the old analog mobile relay station back in the early 90's. Where, the analog mobile relay stations were installed several kilometers away from residential homes (suburban areas). Western Governments have passed laws which approved the utility companies to have free range to install cell towers and smart meters into residential homes, without given residents a choice. Our freedom to make choices in regards to our health and wellbeing have been taken away from us. This sort of blazen conduct is what we would expect in developing and totalitarian countries, and not in a free world like the US and Austrlia. Im a Canadian. Targeted at least since 2014. There are people committing suicide over this tech out here. Ppl dying of arrhythmias. There are people in crisis. Homeless and who have lost everything. We need information. We need help. We need a bigger and more comprehensive investigation

Thank you for finally addressing this critical and profoundly underacknowledged topic. In the modern world, we are routinely exposed to levels of EMFs that are many orders of magnitude higher than the environment in which we evolved (I don't have the numbers before me – if HHS doesn't have these numbers, I strongly encourage you to establish them) – I believe the comparison I've seen was some ridiculous discrepancy on the order of trillions if not higher. That alone is cause for suspicion. Electromagnetism is one of the fundamental forces of known reality; it is inconceivable that we would ratchet up the levels of electromagnetic fields and not cause profound, complex changes to our biosphere and our human bodies. Yet our society's understanding of this topic has remained infuriatingly ignorant, relative to what is known scientifically on the topic (what is not known scientifically, and thus is in urgent need of more study, is also relevant). There has been a willful ignorance, a tendency to shun discussions of this topic as 'tin foil hat conspiracy' stuff. I believe this has been encouraged if not outright orchestrated by the communications and technology industries; EMF and related emissions/pollution are a core externality of their business model (this need not necessarily be so; there are ways to change/harmonize/reduce the EM that comes from technology – this should be pursued and studied and implemented with vigor). Regulation has long been myopically focused on thermal effects from EMF, which do not manifest until intensely high doses; thus, relatively low dose (though still very very high doses) EM emissions have been dismissed, if they do not cause thermal impacts. The scientific literature on this point is robust, and clear: the game is all about the non-thermal effects. Non-thermal effects from EMF/RF/wireless non-ionizing radiation, documented in scientific literature, are diverse, and concerning; they include a far broader array of impacts than I'll be able to recite here. Cancer, yes, but also irritability, anxiety, alterations to cellular calcium channels, depression, sleeplessness. I mention these because I strongly suspect that the sky-high levels of EMF-type emissions we bathe in daily are causal to some degree in the disturbed mental health and general sense of dis-ease in our modern world. People widely report being depressed, being anxious, and we see the impacts in our fractured social ties, polarized social discourse, disintegrating families and communities. The physical health harms of EMFs are highly important, and deserve your priority attention; and so, too, the mental health harms. Thank you for addressing this topic. I wish you well in your study, and encourage you to take this comment as a framework for your understanding of the issue.

I am very concerned regarding all emf’s. I became very interested in researching this topic several years ago. (10yrs) when I purchased an iPhone. My fingers are very sensitive to the screen. Then in 2017, we installed solar panels on our home and I started to feel the pulsating pulse in my ear as I would park my car in our garage. Between the smart meter that was installed in Feb 2017 and the solar panels in 2017, I immediately felt the pulsating in the ear. Luckily I found a faraday cover for my smart meter and the pulsation was reduced, but that doesn’t help the tinnitis I feel as well. Then over the years, the installation of 5g towers have worried me as well. These towers put out signal for 5 miles. There is literally no safe place to be. Within our homes with the WiFi or outside. I really wish there was a better way to mitigate these signals. This topic needs to be studied from the effects of cell phone exposure to 5g towers. The last studies origiante from 1970. Please look at the EGW studies they have been doing the studies. Thank you.

I think it is pretty simple. Design some experiments to test for negative long term effects from radio Frequency radiation. Start collecting data and analyze it carefully with standard statistics. I don't suspect any short term problems with immediate reactions since so far society hasn't seen huge problems with Radio Frequency radiation but there could be long term effects and data should be gathered for study.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I'm responding from the perspective of a concerned citizen who has experienced firsthand the effects of cell tower radiation. In 2015 I worked for 6 weeks in a building with a cell tower on the back. I had worked there previously, and noticed nothing for the first 4 weeks. But then I began to notice strange things. My feet would tingle as soon as I entered the building. I experienced extreme muscle weakness in my eyes, and would have to close my eyes despite not actually being sleepy. On several such occasions I felt electric shocks pass through me (dirty electricity from the equipment?). On one occasion I had the bizarre sensation that my chair dropped away from under me, then came back up and slammed me in the butt! I developed a hand tremor I'd never had before. For several months afterward I'd get sudden tremors racking my body, out of nowhere. I had frequent dizzy spells, felt weak and was afraid to drive long trips for fear of blacking out in my car. My swallowing reflex was slow on one side and I was afraid of choking. I developed weakness in my hip muscles and lower back (worst when the barometric pressure was low), and would feel like I was going to collapse. I also developed restless leg syndrome which has not completely gone away. This was a day job and just for 6 weeks. What happens to people who live near a cell tower 24/7? (Truly horrific things from what I've read -- one woman suffered 51 strokes, and for others it's a-fib, heart palpitations, chest tightness or outright heart attacks, not to mention headaches, dizziness, nausea, sleep disturbance, nosebleeds, and cancer.) Smart meter radiation (same type of radiation) has been shown to rip and slash the red blood cells of anyone standing near one for just 2 minutes, whether the person felt anything (e.g. tingling) or not. I've opted out of a smart meter, but have had bad experiences in homes with smart meters -- violently increased heart rate, or sudden exhaustion and hunger ("hangry" doesn't begin to describe it). This radiation is a serious threat to the health of all of us, and must be addressed. The experiences of all who have been affected need to be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
