A parent reports children’s attention, headache, sleep and dizziness problems, opposes a proposed school …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a [patient, parent, family member, caregiver, healthcare professional, researcher, advocate, concerned member of the public, or other]. HHS should address this issue because it affects the health and safety of the majority of people. Just because you can see something doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. My 4 children struggle with attention, headaches, sleep problems - and most recently two of my children have been getting dizzy spells. I have two other children who go to school – and because of poor reception – the school wants to build a cell tower right on the property. It will be much healthier for the children to have limited Wi-Fi access at school rather than have a cell phone tower built right near the athletic field. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Thank you for looking into what many know is causing harm to the human body. We the People never agreed to this. It affects the human body at the cellular level and causes human suffering. To my knowledge, there have not been peer reviewed blinded studies, and there is not a way for doctors to diagnosis and treat the harm caused to me from electromagnetic fields, radio-frequency radiation, and/or wireless radiation exposure. I only use my cell phone when absolutely necessary and keep it far away from me otherwise, have hardwired internet, and haven’t had a microwave oven for about 8 years in order to lessen my exposure. I did not want a smart meter installed at my house, but around 2015 my electric company sent information of possibly installing a smart meter at some point in the future, and if they were going to move forward, another letter would follow. My intent was to address the situation then, but the second letter never came, and soon after, I discovered a smart meter attached to my house without my knowledge or permission. I let it go, thinking there was nothing I could do. Around 2022, after having increased headaches, fatigue, insomnia, brain fog and feeling unwell over this period of time, I called my electric company and they advised me to contact the PA Utility Commission. I even offered to pay to reinstall my analog meter and pay a monthly fee, but the answer was no. I filed a complaint with the PA UC, and they did absolutely nothing. I continue to live with the negative health effects from EMF/rf radiation and/or wireless radiation exposure to this day. I ask you to move forward with more studies, as they are detrimental to healthy human life.

EMFs have something to do with the calcium channels of our cells. Studies have been done but aren’t very detailed. People are getting “cavitations” from losing teeth or getting wisdom teeth removed. Why is bone not healing? My grandmother was widowed in her 30s when her husband who was a lineman had a massive heart attack. There’s possibly some sort of correlation with frequencies and our calcium channels. I think it should be looked into.

The effects of EMF on humans? How can we know exactly what is the effect - unless we do something obvious like wear a smart watch and get a cyst or airpods and get a growth around that ear. Otherwise, there are just too many possibilities to be able to say exactly what EMF is doing to us. So, YOU, the government, needs to commission serious scientific studies. We depend on you protecting us from higher and higher levels of EMF if it is not safe. This needs to be done now.

Public Comment Regarding Electromagnetic Fields, Radiofrequency Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I write as a healthcare professional, a Doctor of Dental Surgery, and a patient who experienced a severe, debilitating illness that I attribute to wireless radiation exposure. In 2020, I developed extreme fatigue, significant hair loss that occurred in clumps, skin rashes, joint pain, profound difficulty sleeping, and severe upper respiratory and breathing problems. These symptoms were unlike anything I had previously experienced. The illness disrupted nearly every aspect of my life and became so disabling that I was forced to withdraw from the second doctoral program I was pursuing. Although I was not hospitalized, laboratory testing revealed a markedly elevated D-dimer level. My physician subsequently told me that the result warranted evaluation in an emergency department. I believe the seriousness of my condition was not adequately recognized at the time. I did not receive a COVID-19 vaccine. I have photographs and laboratory records documenting the symptoms and medical findings associated with this period. Recovery took nearly a year. During that time, I purchased a shielding-fabric enclosure for my bed to reduce exposure while sleeping and arranged for wired connections in my home to minimize reliance on wireless technology. I also substantially reduced my cell phone use and other sources of exposure. In my experience, these changes were an important part of my recovery and have helped me avoid another similarly debilitating episode. Even after recovering from the acute illness, I continued to experience sensations of heat and burning when using a cell phone for approximately another year. I still occasionally experience burning and buzzing sensations in my skin, particularly near large 5G installations. The consequences were profound: loss of health, interruption of my education, significant changes to my home and daily activities, and fear of recurrence. I believe my illness placed my life at risk. I have also encountered patients who report similar symptoms and experiences. Their accounts, and mine, deserve serious investigation, careful documentation, and a meaningful response. I strongly support HHS taking an active and accountable role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions affecting human health must be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health. The experiences of individuals and families who report being affected must be considered alongside the scientific evidence and treated as a meaningful source of information for further investigation. I urge HHS to rigorously evaluate these experiences and the available scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, and examine whether existing exposure standards adequately address present-day conditions. This review should specifically consider cumulative exposure, multiple simultaneous sources, prolonged exposure in homes and schools, and the experiences of individuals reporting heightened sensitivity. Children and other potentially vulnerable populations require particular attention. Potential effects on animals and the environment also warrant investigation. HHS should establish clear federal research priorities, support independent studies, and publicly communicate its findings and remaining uncertainties. In my view, continued expansion of wireless infrastructure should be paused where adequate safety evidence is lacking, pending a thorough, independent assessment. Individuals should not have to experience disabling illness before their concerns receive meaningful federal attention. I ask HHS to respond with the urgency, transparency, and diligence this issue demands. Please investigate these reports, address deficiencies in research and oversight, and take appropriate action to protect public health. Thank you for providing individuals, families, healthcare providers, researchers, and scientists an opportunity to be heard on this critical public health issue. Kristen Graham, DDS

We need to research these more (or be honest with current studies/research) about the impact of EMFs and RF on human/animal health, cognition, cancer rates, disease rates, and any other emotional and physical biomarkers/symptoms. We need to maximize safety and allow for safeguards so we are not harmed by these electromagnetic frequencies.

Public Comment on Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0397 Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure Dear Sir or Madam, My name is Kaveh Hasani. I am a 42-year-old Iranian national living in Dortmund, Germany, with a permanent residence permit (Niederlassungserlaubnis). I am submitting this comment as a private individual who has been experiencing severe and persistent health effects that I strongly believe are related to radiofrequency and electromagnetic exposure, particularly directed or pulsed high-frequency radiation. Timeline and Symptoms Since approximately September 2020, I have been subjected to intense and recurring physical sensations that I can only describe as high-frequency electromagnetic attacks directed at my body and living space. These episodes occur most frequently at night and have continued for more than six years, first in my previous apartment (Lichtendorfer Straße 56) and now in my current residence (Rüpingstraße 14, 44309 Dortmund). The main symptoms include: Sudden burning and stinging sensations in specific areas of the body (neck, throat, behind the ears, back, abdomen, and legs) Strong internal vibrations and pressure that feel like they originate from outside the body Severe sleep disruption and inability to rest properly Increased heart rate and feelings of physical aggression against the body during the night General exhaustion, reduced ability to concentrate, and progressive health deterioration I have undergone medical examinations in Germany. Neurological tests were largely normal, but I was diagnosed with elevated blood sugar levels. I believe prolonged exposure to these electromagnetic influences has contributed to the weakening of my immune system and overall health. Nature of the Exposure What I experience does not feel like ordinary ambient Wi-Fi or mobile phone radiation. The intensity is much higher and appears targeted. The sensations often start suddenly, intensify in specific body areas, and sometimes move through the body in a controlled manner. I have the strong impression that technical devices are being used to direct pulsed or modulated radiofrequency energy into my apartment and onto my body. In addition, I have a long-standing suspicion that microchips or similar tracking/influencing devices were implanted in my body against my will around 2020–2021. These implants seem to interact with the external radiation and make the effects significantly stronger. Impact on Life These continuous attacks have severely damaged my ability to work and maintain a normal life. Despite having a recognized Master’s degree in Business Administration, C1-level German, and more than 73 months of pension insurance contributions, I have faced repeated unexplained job losses and situations where employment contracts were almost signed and then cancelled without clear reason. I have been unemployed for the last six months and am currently dependent on social benefits (Bürgergeld). I am convinced that the constant physical and psychological pressure caused by these electromagnetic exposures plays a major role in this professional sabotage. Request I urge the Department of Health and Human Services to: Seriously investigate the possibility of directed or pulsed radiofrequency energy being used against individuals. Study the health effects of chronic, non-thermal, and modulated RF exposure, especially on people who report high sensitivity. Examine whether certain individuals can be made more vulnerable through implants or other technical means. Collect and analyze personal reports like mine as part of understanding the real-world impact of modern wireless technologies beyond current safety standards. I am willing to provide further details, medical documents, and timelines if required. Thank you for opening this important request for information. For many people who have been suffering in silence for years, this is a rare opportunity to be heard. Sincerely, Kaveh Hasani

The commenter describes family symptoms associated with towers, phones and classroom Wi-Fi, including int…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Our family’s personal experience with EMFs has been deeply concerning, and we want our experiences to be heard. I personally experience what feels like physical effects when we are near certain cell towers. As we drive by, I sometimes feel symptoms that I associate with the towers, and when stopped at traffic lights near equipment mounted on utility poles, I experience pain. Living in an area where this infrastructure continues to expand has made daily life increasingly difficult for me. My family has also had a very difficult experience involving my son. We traveled out of state to tour a college, and after 5G equipment was added to the area, he became extremely ill while he was there. He could barely go outside without turning pale and feeling terribly sick. He only lasted a few days before we had to bring him home, resulting in the unexpected expense of moving him and his belongings all the way back. I also experience a burning sensation in my hands when holding a cell phone. While my children were in school, they experienced severe migraines in classrooms where Wi-Fi routers were located directly inside the classrooms. After additional signal boosters were installed, we felt their symptoms became even worse. These experiences have affected our family’s daily lives, education, finances, and overall well-being. We understand that individual experiences do not, by themselves, establish the cause of symptoms, but we believe they deserve to be heard and taken seriously. We are asking for greater transparency, careful investigation, independent research, and consideration of the people who report experiencing symptoms in areas where wireless infrastructure is expanding. Communities deserve access to clear information about these installations, the opportunity to voice concerns, and meaningful consideration of their experiences before more equipment is added. Our family should not have to feel that we must choose between participating in modern life and feeling well in our own community. Please listen to the people who are raising these concerns.
