Reports hearing problems improving after moving away from AMI meters and describes costly litigation over…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I lived in an apartment with a bank of AMI meters about 40 feet from my apartment. I began having intermittent hearing loss. My ENT had no idea, over time I realized it was the meters. After we moved, my issues ceased and my hearing has been restored. When I moved, the city I live in Nevada owns its own utility. They received Covid money to replace their grid operations, they forced everyone to take an AMI smart meter on their homes by March 2025. We asked our Council to develop an opt out program. I had about 80 homes that wanted one. In Nevada, this is the ONLY city in the state where a meter is mandatory. We refused the meter and were subsequently sued in District Court by the City. It has cost us over $30,000.00 and is still not resolved. I have seen many older compromised individuals, die or get sicker. I have seen more elderly women falling in their yards near the meters and getting injured. Many start with urinary tract infections and progress to worsening. I have also seen an individual sleeping near a meter get a brain tumor. My neighbor does not have full use of her home because she has a coil in her neck to prevent a stroke, the meter sickens her. I have another neighbor who cannot enjoy her garden any longer.

Reports palpitations resolving after abandoning a cell phone, relocating after neighborhood 5G installati…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
It took me 3 years to figure out that my cell phone was causing my heart palpitations. When I got rid of it, all my symptoms were gone. We ended up having to leave our home in CO when 5G cell antennas were installed in front of our neighborhood. We now live in the mountains outside of Santa Fe, NM where cell phones do not work. One of the many things I've learned is that no one can question technology because when you do that you are questioning progress but it has to be questioned. We also homeschool our child because of WiFi in schools and unnecessary screens so yes, this issue has impacted our lives greatly. It's never too late to change! I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals, families, health care providers, researchers and scientists with an opportunity to be finally be heard on this critical public health issue.

Reports a mother developing AFib and other symptoms after moving near a tower and improving after moving …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
My mother moved into an apartment with a cell tower near the building. Soon after moving in, she was diagnosed with AFib. She lived there almost 2 years and her health continued to decline. She had stomach issues, anxiety, sleep issues, etc.. We moved her out of the apartment and farther away from the tower and all of her medical problems (including AFib) slowly started to resolve.

Reports decades of burning sensations, palpitations and other symptoms attributed to EMF, describing devi…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing to tell my story of how EMF has affected my life and health. I have been suffering from this for about 25 years. My symptoms are many, but the worse ones are burning skin (feeling like I'm on fire, like someone is burning me with a hot iron) and the heart palpitations. Other symptoms are: headaches, muscle and joint pain, memory loss, brain fog, nausea, irritability, fatigue, weakness, muscle spasms, leg & foot pain, shortness of breath, fast heart rate, itching, facial and neck flushing, swelling in my face, eyes burn, throat burns, pressure in my eyes, digestive problems, abdominal discomfort/pain, ringing in the ears, allergies, dryness of my lips and in my eyes. I have taken every measure to help me feel better by turning off the blue tooth and wi-fi on my cell phone and in my car, I've unplugged certain things in my house for example our sleep number bed has been unplugged. I try to avoid certain places where there will be many people with their cell phones/technology. I get very sick when I am at a mall shopping or at a church where there is a lot of technology. When I'm around all the EMR I get violent headaches, nausea, weakness, brain fog, etc. I have been getting laser treatments as needed, when my body can't handle anymore toxicity, which seem to help for a few months. Please help put a stop to the advancement of all this technology, which is killing us. Thank you, Jackie Remme

A self-described nurse describes sensitivity after mold-related illness and repeatable symptoms around so…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a registered nurse with more than a decade of experience in healthcare, and my experience with electromagnetic sensitivity developed in the context of a significant environmental illness. My health initially declined after living in a water-damaged, mold-contaminated home. I developed severe neurological and systemic symptoms, including vertigo, tinnitus, cognitive changes, headaches, sleep disruption, and other symptoms that dramatically affected my ability to function. After leaving that environment, my health improved significantly. I eventually moved into a different home and initially felt well there. That is when I began recognizing something I had not previously understood: electromagnetic exposures appeared to trigger some of my neurological symptoms even when I was no longer living in the mold-contaminated environment. I began noticing repeatable patterns with certain exposures. Turning on Wi-Fi could bring on unusual neurological sensations in my head. Certain electronics could trigger sharp headaches and uncomfortable sensations in my chest or heartbeat. Increasing my distance from these sources, turning wireless devices off, and hard-wiring equipment often reduced the symptoms. What made this particularly interesting to me as a nurse was that I did not react equally to every electronic environment. For example, I could work around hard-wired hospital computers without experiencing the same degree of symptoms. That made me begin paying closer attention to the type and characteristics of the exposure rather than assuming that all electronics affected me equally. I am not claiming that my experience proves that electromagnetic exposure caused these symptoms. I am reporting a pattern that became sufficiently reproducible that I could no longer dismiss it. My experience also raises a question that I believe deserves serious research: Could environmental illness or other biological stressors make some individuals more susceptible to electromagnetic exposures? In my case, the sensitivity became apparent following a period of significant illness associated with a water-damaged building. I encourage HHS to investigate people who report electromagnetic sensitivity rather than studying only healthy populations. Research should examine whether previous environmental exposures, chronic inflammation, neurological injury, or other biological factors may identify susceptible subgroups. Controlled and blinded exposure studies could help determine whether reported symptoms correspond with measurable physiological or neurological changes. There is still much we do not understand. As both a nurse and someone who has personally experienced this phenomenon, I believe patient experiences like mine should be treated as observations worthy of investigation—not as proof of causation, but as signals that can help us ask better scientific questions. I hope HHS will pursue rigorous, independent research into electromagnetic exposure, individual susceptibility, cumulative exposure, and the experiences of people reporting electromagnetic sensitivity.

Reports palpitations near wireless sources and requests wired options, radio-off controls, local tower zo…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I experience heart palpitations from wireless modems and other wireless devices that emit strong current. They are uncomfortable and potentially dangerous heart arrhythmias that reliably happen when I am quite near a strong wireless source. For that reason, I have to avoid using wireless in my house, which is getting increasingly difficult. I would appreciate policy that requires essential systems like utilities and internet to be accessed through hard wiring as well as wireless, and requires hard wire options to be built into essential electronics like phones, printers,TVs, computers, and especially medical equipment. And allows wireless emission to be turned off on those devices that use it, rather than have it be continuous and unremitting. I would also appreciate policy that allows for local zoning of any cell transmission stations/towers and regulates placement of 5G transmissiom sources to be at reasonable distance from residences. It is especially dismaying that the FCC is allowing discontinuation of copper landlines. I have several health conditions that require occasional emergency treatment and without in-home wireless service cannot rely on my mobile phone in an emergency. In storms local cable and FIOS are not reliable and not having a landline available will seriously endanger my health. I am also dismayed to find if I want to refuse a new smart meter installation by National Grid, I have to pay an additional monthly fee of $29, a rather coercive disincentive considering the enormous profits this company enjoys. This is a hardship for a senior on fixed income as I am. Thank you.

Reports insomnia near a bank of smart meters and palpitations and nausea attributed to higher meter readi…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I used to live in a place where there were 12 Smart Meters attached to the outside of my bedroom wall. It caused me to have severe insomnia and I literally had to sleep on the other end of the house in the living room to get away from the wall of SmartMeters. I ended up buying a 3-axis EMF/Radiofrequency meter to check the levels of various places and found that high EMF levels cause me to have heart palpitations and a feeling of nausea. I have actually passes on housing because of high EMF levels and needing to be away from them. I feel that they affect my wellness.

Reports numerous neurological and systemic symptoms attributed to neighborhood antennas and radars and de…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient and family member. The wireless radiation changed my life completely. Since they connected in 2021 more than 700 5G antennas and radars in a 3 miles radius in my neighborhood I have been very sick with pneumonias, rapid heartbeat, skin rashes, dizziness, loss of memory, loss of vision, vomits, migraines, tinnitus, insomnia, flu, stabbing pains all over the body, fever, fatigue, burning feeling, confusion, incoherent thoughts, high blood pressure, tingling sensation, nosebleed, shortness of breath, cough, diarrhea, hair loss, hemorrhage in the eye. I had to move to other areas trying to find a place that it is not contaminated by the microwaves. I spoke with other people in my neighborhood, and they have the same symptoms. During the night is worst. I urge the government to help us. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Reports experiences attributed to directed energy and neurological surveillance, including auditory perce…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing as a resident of Piscataway, New Jersey and one of a growing number of American citizens who report experiencing effects consistent with directed energy weapons (DEWs) and unauthorized neurological surveillance technology. This experience is often described within the “Targeted Individual” (TI) community, and I am asking that it be taken seriously and referred for investigation. What I and others report experiencing includes: 1. Microwave Auditory Effect / V2K: The perception of voices or sounds without an external source, a phenomenon first documented by Dr. Allan Frey in 1962 and studied since in various military and research contexts. 2. Remote Neural Monitoring (RNM): A reported sense of thoughts, reactions, or private information being anticipated or known by others without any means of them having learned it conventionally. 3. Physical effects consistent with directed energy exposure: Pain, burning sensations, nerve-related symptoms, and cardiac irregularities reported without clear medical cause 4. Severe psychological distress: Panic, despair, and other extreme states reported by many in this community as arising suddenly and without a clear personal trigger. I want to be direct about the state of the evidence: these reports are not, at this point, independently verified in the way a courtroom or scientific body would require. What they are is a consistent, cross-referenced pattern reported by a large and growing number of unconnected individuals, warranting investigation rather than dismissal. The U.S. government’s own acknowledgment of “Havana Syndrome” among diplomatic and intelligence personnel confirms that this class of technology exists and can produce serious, disabling effects. That acknowledgment is not proof that the same technology is being used domestically against civilians — but it is a legitimate basis for asking whether it might be, and for taking that question seriously rather than dismissing it out of hand. This may implicate existing law, including: 1. 18 U.S.C. § 2261A (interstate stalking) 2. 18 U.S.C. §§ 241–242 (conspiracy against rights; deprivation of rights under color of law) 3. The Fourth Amendment, to the extent any of this involves unauthorized search or interception 4. Relevant state-level stalking, harassment, and electronic surveillance statutes I am not asking anyone to presume guilt or prosecute on the basis of this letter alone. I am asking that this be referred to whichever office is positioned to look into it — whether that’s a congressional caseworker, an Inspector General’s office, the FCC (for unauthorized transmissions), or the DOJ Civil Rights Division — and that it be treated as a genuine constituent concern rather than dismissed without review. I am one of many people raising this. I am available to provide further detail, documentation, or contact information for others willing to be interviewed or to corroborate this pattern.

Reports headaches, insomnia, brain fog, auditory symptoms and palpitations attributed to a buried power l…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Request for Information Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0397 Public Experiences and Reported Potential Adverse Health Effects 2. I submit this comment as a concerned citizen with 2 direct years of constant EMF exposure from a buried power line along our foundation emitting excessive EMF (magnetic). In total, I now have 6 years of personal experience related to EMF exposure and health effects. 3. After moving into a newly built condo, my husband and I started to suffer from headaches, dizzy spells, high pitched & popping auditory symptoms, insomnia, brain fog, and other issues such as anxiety, irritability, heart palpitations, etc. After researching our combined symptoms and possible causes, we purchased an EMF meter and eventually identified that there was a high EMF (magnetic field) originating from a 20+ year old power line that was buried at the foot of our foundation and supplying power to the entire neighborhood(s). In addition, Dirty Electricity was also an issue in our new condo. After going before the City Council 4 times and contacting experts in the field and escalating the issue to the power company, the power company agreed to move the powerline away from our foundation. a. Primary issue: Power Conductor Line supplying power to neighborhood(s). Secondary issue: Dirty Electricity b. 24/7 excessive EMF (magnetic) ranging from 12 to 30 mG (and much higher during peak demand months) at the living room floor/exterior wall up to the master bedroom and through the entire depth of the condo. The EMF dissipated to about 1.5 mG in the driveway on the back side of the condo. Exposure started in January of 2020 when we moved in and it dropped significantly on January 28, 2022 when the old power line was turned off and relocated further away from the foundation from its original location. However, the EMF magnetic field consistently hovered around 0.5 to 1.0mG thereafter and we found it necessary to sell our home due to our new "electromagnetic hypersensitivity" resulting from 2 years of constant exposure. c. The adverse health effects we experienced included headaches, insomnia, brain fog, auditory anomalies (ringing, high & low-pitched noises, popping sounds), dizzy spells, memory issues, heart palpitations, anxiety, irritability, electromagnetic hypersensitivity, etc. d. The health effects first appeared shortly after moving into our new condo. We did not understand why we were experiencing these symptoms and did not know about EMF. It was almost a full year of confusion, headaches, dizzy spells, etc., before we started to research what could be causing our health effects and bought a Trifield EMF meter in December of 2020. e. Confidential PHI f. The steps we took to reduce EMF exposure from the power line included moving into the guest room (furthest from the source of the EMF) and, at night, turned off the main power breaker to minimize EMF while we slept. We continued to have symptoms but, at times, seemed less severe than when we were sleeping in the master bedroom (2nd floor above the power line). We avoided the living room, where the EMF was highest. For the EMF exposure from the dirty electricity, we had the electrician remedy by rewiring the bundled neutrals in the electrical panel & boxes (this was the easy fix). g. Exposure logs with readings throughout the house and pictures and videos recorded. Exposure Standards and Risk Assessment 5. Please consider reviewing international exposure standards and building biology guidelines to establish regulatory frameworks to evaluate potential adverse health effects of human exposure to EMF. For example: 2012 BioInitiative Report’s precautionary guidelines and the Building Biology Precautionary Guidelines for Sleeping Areas (SBM-2015). pdf • AC magnetic fields .2 – 1 mG • AC electric fields .3 – 1.5 V/m • Body voltage less than 10 – 100 mV • Radio Frequency radiation less than 10 μW/m² Also refer to: EHS & MCS website: EHS & MCS - Research and Treatment European Group - Electrosensible-Recherche et traitement Also refer to: Building Biology Institute: Healthy Buildings For Sustainable Living - Building Biology Institute and their 25 Building Principles 25 Building Biology Principles - Building Biology Institute n. Please consider establishing guidelines and regulatory standards for proximity of power lines, sub stations, cell towers, etc. Educate the general public about hazards of all types of EMF and what they can do to minimize exposure. With cell phones, require lower SAR and require all cell phone and wireless radiation to post their SAR levels along with possible health effects. For Power Conductors and Sub Stations, establish safe limits and do not allow day cares, nursing homes, homes, or places of business to be built within at least 100 feet (refer to California’s standards on this – that is one thing they did right!). Refer to attachments for full Comment. Thank you.
