I am submitting these comments in response to HHS's Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMF's), Radiofrequency (RF), and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding for myself, my father, older sister and my son. Myself: I was sickened by the Electrical (ComEd) Smart Meter in March 2018, caused Heart Palpitations (AFIB), Sleep issues, Agitation, Anxiety like feelings, I connected the dots due to a notice being placed on my front door from the electrical company stating they had just installed the new Smart Meter. I called ComEd and a gentleman in a Hazmat suit uninstalled the meter with in 5 days (for a fee $75 and I pay $22 a month to have it manually read), they have shared after putting back the old Analog Meter, that the Smart Meters are no longer Mandatory in Illinois. Once the the Smart Meter was removed all my symptoms went away. I also uninstalled the Village Smart Water Meter having same issue. I was diagnosed EHS (Electro hypersensitive) in 2019 by my Holistic Doctor, he shared that he has had (15) patients with the same experience once the Smart Meter was placed on their home. I also struggle severely with the newer Apple 4G/5G Cell Phones (10 - 17), within seconds of holding my phone I get agitation in my hands, anxiety feeling that lead to heart palpitations so strong. I now feel secondhand cell phones, can not go into large gatherings, Church auditorium, Theaters, Music venues, Airplanes, Airports, etc. And yes, the Apple safety guidance buried in the phone is true, use Hands Free & Speaker. I am now being challenged with our Community getting blanketed with 5G Antennas, placing them 10' feet from an apartment building on the west side with the safety sign being place on the top of the pole stating this antenna may exceed the FCC Safety Guidance and little stickers stating you need to be 10' away to be safe. Does it exceed, no one knows locally. I know it does because I feel the cell towers and small cell antennas, unfortunately I have a light pole on my property 30' from my bedroom window and our Village President shared the FCC can put up to (2) antennas per light pole. I will be forced to move at that point because I can not be in my home safely, outside in my gardens or safely walk around my neighborhood. This is a very concerning matter to be forced to leave your home after living there 40 years. And, where do I go to be safe?? That is unfortunately the reality, where do you go with having EHS to be free from all the wireless Radiation?? My Father's story: He was sickened for (2) years starting in 2016, having Heart Palpitations (AFIB), Gut issues, Dizzy episodes, Sleeping issues from Smart Meter installed on his bedroom wall, WiFi Router under his desk, WiFi Boosters installed where he sat in his kitchen dining table and family room chair. After my story, I was able to see why he was having all these mysterious symptoms, he was never getting a break from wireless radiation. He would go to rest in his bedroom after being dizzy at his dining table (WiFi Booster) to be hit again with the Smart Meter on his bedroom wall. Once all the wireless radiation items were removed his symptoms all went away but he had some continued energy issues and gut issues remain (Autoimmune disease). My Older Sister's Story: She was sickened in 2015 having mysterious symptoms for (3) years, Muscle ache, Extreme Anxiety, Gut issues, Energy issues from (4) ComEd Smart Meters outside her bedroom window living in a Condo, along with (57) WiFi from densely populated area. Once my story hit, I was able to see her issue. Once the Smart Meters were covered with Safety Guards her symptoms improved but she ended up moving to a more rural area, is doing better but still dealing with low energy and gut issues (Autoimmune Disease). My Son's Story: He was attending College at Northern Illinois University living in an Apartment building, University Plaza on campus, started having headaches after (3) months of living there, getting more severe. He mentioned to me one night on a phone call that they where installing more bars on the roof/Elevator Shaft. I asked him to immediately send me a photo, to find out they where installing Cell Tower Units, 60' feet from my son's bedroom window (Verizon & AT&T). I removed my son from that apartment building that evening and his headaches went away. I wrote a letter to the building management begging them to protect the students and remove the cell towers off the roof. Ballroom Dance Friend Story: My dance friend came up to me 2023 and shared she now understands why I sit in the back of the Ballroom away from other folks cell phones. She was diagnosed with stage (4) cancer tumor right under her Bra strap, carried her cell phone there frequently. Her doctor said she is seeing tumors at the bra strap and also at the waist line of workout pants where unfortunately woman are choosing to carry their cell phones. My friend passed away.

I am directing this comment to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about my personal experiences with EMF and the biological impacts my child experienced. My daughter was 7 months of age when our family moved into a newly built house. Over the course of 9 months we began to see our daughter stop babbling, develop neurological problems, and behaviors that resembled autism. However there were still behaviors that our standard pediatrician nor a developmental pediatrician could make sense of. I set out to find what was causing this and learned what EMF was and identified that our daughter’s crib was located directly next to the home WiFi router that was built into the wall of the laundry room by the home building company. We relocated the WiFi router and within two weeks our daughter started to make eye contact again and some of her symptoms improved. After working with other practitioners we learned that our daughter has had significant neurological damage and had significant inflammation to her central nervous system. Over the last year we have been doing what we can to best help her get better but we’re not sure she will ever fully regain what she lost due to this experience. Our daughter is also very sensitive to EMF and we have to limit being in public places near cell towers as this causes her to start showing neurological behaviors. As a result our family lives extremely carefully due to our daughter’s condition but in this country where EMF is not regulated we are finding this extremely difficult. As a parent my heart aches that this happened to my child, but more than that I’m enraged that EMF is not regulated, our government isn’t educating medical professionals or technical industries on this and that this is causing harm to so many Americans who aren’t even aware of it. In addition to my public comment I would like express our willingness to share details of daughters medical case if this helps provide supporting evidence/research of the health implications of EMF specifically to children. As a mother my heart is heavy that this happened to my child and that it is something that will impact her the rest of her life but my hope is that sharing her experience will help bring about change in this country.

My name is KIaren Rose, living in oregon, and suffering badly with severe chemical and electrosensitivity. Have celltower owned by T Mobile, less than 3000 ft away from house. It has antennae levels on tower, and using mid and low band frequencies, told to me by T Mobile, I am suffering badly daily from tower. I have following symptoms and they are now permanent:: vision blurring, floaters, cataracts, light sensitivity, memory losses, nausea, dizziness, vertigo, damaged vestibular system, hair loss, stomach and digestive pain, weight loss muscle wasting, mystagmus, pressure in head, csf leaks with sinking brain, severe fatigue, tremors like parkinsons, severe sleepiness , labored breathing, painful neck and lower back, weak and frail, etc. I have asked T Mobile to please divert antennae away from my house as I have lived there for 7 yrs and from 2G to now 5G the tower is and is permanently damaged my health and I have nowhere else to live. I am pleading for help, I can get much more details if your group or department would like from me, I have many more symptoms I live with. The 4G that was there before one year ago when 5G came in, already ruined my health and now the 5G which the pressure in my head continually tells me is emanating from tower 24/7, prevents me from a life with no pain constantly. Please help, I can give more details., if requested, thank you so very much. My neighbors who live near me on this 20 acre property that I rent (just the cabin), also are very very ill from tower, severe dementia my landlord, and pain in whole body continuously, and neighbor has severe diabetes and severe rheumatoid arthritis and in lots of pain. Weekends are even worse and painful for me, indoors and outdoors, due to the heavier gaming traffic of neighbors and tower. I am highly sensitive to EMFs. My central nervous system is in perpetual overdrive. My hands start to burn, tingle & become numb after holding my cell phone for more than 15 minutes. I get headaches after using Bluetooth wireless headphones. I can hear constant electricity & frequency. It’s not tinnitus. I lived under a a 5G tower and got extreme headaches. Also had cold sweat, got restless but had no energy. When I moved away from there all the syptoms disapeared.

I am submitting this comment to share my personal experience with symptoms that appeared to be strongly associated with electromagnetic-field and wireless exposure. A couple of years ago, I developed severe brain fog. It became so bad that I genuinely worried I was developing dementia. I occasionally teach classes and webinars, and I had to write out exactly what I planned to say because I could suddenly lose my train of thought, forget what I was discussing, and not know how to continue. Around the same time, my hair began falling out in clumps in the shower, with noticeable thinning around my hairline. I also developed severe low-back pain. It became so debilitating that I often needed help getting out of bed and getting dressed. I could walk after moving around for a while, but working became very difficult. I am self-employed and had to significantly reduce my schedule. I could no longer even walk my dogs normally. I tried many approaches and doctors to determine what was wrong. I used over-the-counter and prescription medications, physical therapy, bodywork, had an MRI, and underwent PRP treatment. My MRI did not show findings that seemed consistent with the severity of my pain, and nothing gave me any relief. Eventually, I came across information discussing EMF exposure and symptoms such as neurological problems, fatigue, and pain. I did not immediately assume EMFs were causing my symptoms, but I decided to investigate my environment. I hired a building biologist to measure my home and help reduce stronger exposures. One finding involved electrical interference in the wall directly behind the head of our bed. We turned off the breaker to that wall as we did not need electricity there while sleeping. I also turned off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on my phone and in my car. This was particularly important because I drive extensively for work. Before making these changes, I would often arrive at appointments with severe brain fog and fatigue and need approximately 30 minutes before I felt normal again. I also began turning off WiFi in our home at night before bed. This change was the most remarkable. Literally the next morning after the first night of turning off Wifi, the severe low-back pain I had experienced for approximately one year completely disappeared. I got out of bed normally and experienced zero pain. I could not believe it. This was even tested as about 3 weeks after we began turning off WiFi, one night my husband forgot to turn it off unbeknownst to me. That night I didn't sleep well and the next morning I could barely get out of bed again. Once he saw this, he became a believer and never forgot again. At the same time, my brain fog lifted dramatically. I could again have normal conversations without long pauses, losing my train of thought, or forgetting what I was saying. Looking back, I realized that my health deterioration began approximately one week after our home WiFi was changed from cable service to fiber-optic internet with a new wireless setup. I cannot prove which aspect of that change was responsible, but the timing and subsequent improvement after reducing electrical and wireless exposure were significant to me. I am substantially better today, but I still notice symptoms with certain exposures. I avoid using my laptop while it is plugged in. If I use it for too long, especially later in the day, my fingers can develop an intense burning sensation while touching the keyboard or trackpad. I have also noticed that my former back pain can begin returning after spending extended periods in environments with a great deal of wireless or electrical equipment. Several months ago, I spent most of a day in a hospital while my husband underwent surgery. By the end of the day, the familiar back pain was beginning to return. After leaving that environment, it subsided. I had also received a COVID-19 vaccination before these problems developed. I cannot say whether vaccination had any relationship to my later sensitivity, and I am not claiming that it did. I do believe the timing is worth documenting and studying. Before these symptoms, I also routinely worked with my laptop directly on my lap and gave little thought to cumulative technology exposure. I have since changed the way I use technology considerably. I am sharing my experience because the relationship I observed between reducing exposure and the improvement in my symptoms was profound. I encourage HHS to investigate EMFs, radiofrequency radiation, cumulative wireless exposure, and whether there may be susceptible individuals who experience neurological, musculoskeletal, or other symptoms at exposure levels considered acceptable for the general population. For people who experience symptoms like mine, this can significantly affect their ability to think clearly, work, drive, exercise, and function normally. I hope personal experiences like mine will be considered alongside laboratory and epidemiological research.

Wireless radiation standards in the U.S. are outdated and severely deficient. Thousands of independent studies have shown that there are numerous ill effects from RF/EMF, such as oxidative stress, cancer, and neurological disorders. I've been very sensitive to RF/EMF for many years, and unfortunately, levels continue to get worse. I have neurological symptoms from exposures. I've had to make accommodations to my living environment (e.g. special shielding) to try and limit my exposures. I'm currently looking for a new place to live because my exposures from neighbors has gotten so bad (e.g. wireless routers on 24 hours a day, Tesla cars charging all night long, which cause magnetic field levels in my house to double or triple, etc.) Also, the medical community needs to be educated about RF/EMF because most doctors know very little about the subject (a similar situation to the lack of knowledge about nutrition). I am an individual consumer and patient responding to Question 3.(a) The EMF sources that most affect me are Wi-Fi and wireless infrastructure. I also struggle with emissions from computer screens and certain lighting that create EMFs. Other sources that have harmed me include smartphones, a microwave, neighboring 5G satellite equipment, and SMART meters on nearby properties.(b) I first noticed effects of wireless technology about 13 years ago (around 2012). I had been sleeping with my smartphone under my pillow, Wi-Fi on, to listen to podcasts as I fell asleep, for at least a few months. We also had Wi-Fi in our home. Exposure later increased when Google arranged free downtown Wi-Fi in our town and then ran that Wi-Fi up the hill where we lived. After we moved, a neighbor beamed a 5G satellite dish over our property toward a distant 5G tower. Our local PUD later required SMART meters countywide; I kept one off my home, but neighbors have them. I still encounter Wi-Fi in stores, restaurants, and other public places.(c) Potential adverse health effects have included severe brain fog, confusion, ringing in the ears, short-term memory loss, insomnia and general cognitive decline. It felt as though all my cognitive functions were slowed down, or as if a heavy wet blanket had been thrown over them. These symptoms have relapsed whenever exposure increased.(d) Symptoms first appeared after months of sleeping with a Wi-Fi-enabled phone under my pillow and living with home Wi-Fi. They increased over several weeks and occurred only at home or in other Wi-Fi environments; outdoors I felt fine. Turning off home Wi-Fi and related sources brought drastic improvement at home. When municipal Wi-Fi was extended up our hill, I became sick again in my own home and we had to leave. A neighbor’s 5G satellite aimed over our property caused another relapse; moving the dish ended that exposure-related flare. Public Wi-Fi still affects me, though usually less than the original home exposure.(e) I sought help from naturopathic doctors. The first scoffed but humored me. A second doctor in 2012 firmly admitted knowing about the problem, said he had encountered it before, and loaned us an EMF detection meter. He did not give a diagnosis. Over the years other doctors have admitted this is a problem and tried to alleviate symptoms, but all have been reluctant to give an official diagnosis. I believe doctors were unequipped to deal with this in 2012.(f) To reduce exposure, we turned off the Wi-Fi feature on our router and phones, switched phones to airplane mode at night, borrowed an EMF meter, tested plugs and electronics, removed the highest emitters, and stopped using the microwave. I improved drastically at home but still struggled in Wi-Fi-equipped public places. Increasing town Wi-Fi forced us to leave. We spent the next three years living in an RV searching for a rural place away from cell towers, SMART meters, and neighboring Wi-Fi. We eventually found one after much research. After a neighbor’s 5G dish caused a relapse, they moved it so it no longer aimed over our property. I fought to keep a SMART meter off my home and have so far succeeded. I have completely removed wireless technology from my home. I have not had a microwave in years. Phones go to airplane mode at night. I use speakerphone, never carry a phone on my body, and use a shielded case. All home networking is wired. Maintaining my health has been a very expensive battle, including measures to manage sensitivity when I must go into EMF-dense environments.(g) We confirmed sources with an EMF meter borrowed from a naturopathic doctor. I have researched scientific journal articles, watched countless hours of lectures, written letters to city councils to keep cell towers away, to my local PUD about dangers, and to county commissioners and state representatives. I have spent countless hours trying to warn and educate others, with little official result, though awareness and injury from EMFs are growing among friends and people I have met. I now fight my teenage son every single day to keep his cell phone out of his pocket because of infertility risks; he does not listen because everyone else keeps phones in their pockets. I cannot begin to communicate my frustration over more than a decade of struggle with EMFs and wireless technology. As long as convenience continues, appropriate studies are not done, and industry regulatory capture is not rooted out, there will be more people like me—and worse—and we will see an increase in the fertility crisis among the next generation.

Im having extremely horrible issues with my health and everytime I turn on my electromagnetic field detector it will give me abnormal high readings for a brief second and then turn.off and go back to normal, and some other people I know have been noticing the same strange anomalies, please check into this disturbing issue because I feel like im being radiated with news and im quite sure this is why my health issues have stared getting so much worse. It's to the point I can barely get out of my bed in the mornings, something has got to be done. Please help!!!
