Reports EHS beginning after a nearby antenna installation in Italy, improvement away from exposure and pr…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Subject: Public complaint about electrosmog in Italy and personal testimony on electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) I am writing to denounce the abandonment of Italian citizens in the face of exposure to electromagnetic fields and the lack of protection for people suffering from symptoms attributed to electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS). In April 2024, national exposure limits were raised from 6 to 15 V/m. There are also no uniform minimum safety distances from homes, schools, and sensitive sites. I call for greater public attention, transparency, and precautionary measures to protect health. My story began in July 2024, one month after a mobile phone antenna was installed directly in front of my home. Other installations are located about 250 metres from my home and 200 metres from my workplace, where I have worked for 18 years. I began experiencing severe pain in my left epididymis and big toes. For months, my nails stopped growing. Medical examinations and treatments did not resolve the problems. Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory treatments only made my symptoms worse. I also noticed a strong stinging sensation in my face whenever I approached my mobile phone. That was when I understood the link between my symptoms and the new antenna. When I tried to explain my suspicions and the scientific evidence I had found to doctors, my concerns were met with scepticism and ridicule. In desperation, I contacted the Italian Electrosensitive Association, which gave me guidance on investigating the situation. My home was already partly protected: during renovations in 2012, I removed all wireless devices and fully wired my internet network and alarm system. To see whether leaving my usual environment might help, I spent several days in an isolated country house in the hills, keeping my mobile phone switched off. My symptoms eased and disappeared; within two days of returning home, they came back. This experience strengthened my conviction that the possible environmental causes of my symptoms needed to be investigated more seriously. By late 2024, convinced that the new antenna in front of my home was responsible for the onset of my electromagnetic hypersensitivity, I was forced to leave my apartment and move into a small ground-floor flat in an attempt to reduce my exposure. In 2026, the antenna was upgraded to accommodate two operators. Despite environmental shielding and protective clothing, I continue to feel unwell, even at field levels I measure below 0.1 V/m. My workplace is also a source of distress because of Wi-Fi devices, wireless equipment, and a nearby antenna. I currently suffer from chronic pain, including pain in my left epididymis, severe insomnia, tinnitus, difficulties with concentration and speech, night-time cramps, photophobia, episodes of migraine, nausea, and dizziness. I also experience debilitating fatigue, intestinal problems, food intolerances, and significant weight loss. I am paying for numerous medical tests myself in an attempt to find answers and treatment. This condition has profoundly affected my life. I am a divorced father of two young children and can no longer share many everyday activities, holidays, school events, or sports events with them. I have had to give up my social life and many essential activities. The only place where I have experienced a marked improvement is the country house in the hills, far from sources of electrosmog, but moving there permanently is incompatible with my family responsibilities and work commitments. I asked the local council to halt new installations, adopt a municipal antenna plan, and prevent further expansion in areas that are already saturated, but my efforts have not achieved the desired results. For all these reasons, this is not merely a testimony of suffering but a firm call for legislative action. It is essential and urgent that the authorities introduce concrete laws to protect public health: national emission limits must be drastically lowered, well below current levels, and strict, non-negotiable minimum safety distances must be established from residential areas, schools, and sensitive sites. It is also essential to encourage and promote wired connections in public and private spaces, guaranteeing every citizen the fundamental right to live and work in safe environments that are protected and free from electromagnetic impacts. Finally, public healthcare must urgently provide appropriate scientific and medical training so that healthcare professionals are prepared to take people experiencing these complex problems seriously, putting an end to an unacceptable culture of ridicule and scepticism. We cannot continue sacrificing people's health at the altar of technological profit, leaving people with EHS invisible and without rights.

Reports symptoms following workplace and home wireless installations, miscarriages and gastrointestinal p…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I have always worked in an office using PC's and then Laptops. I think my intolerance/symptoms to RF/EMF began when a Mobile phone signal booster was installed a few feet above my desk in an open plan office, but I didn't realise until a few years later. Around the same time, we had high power Fibre Optic Wi-Fi installed at home (we previously had no Wi-Fi at home). We also had boosters around the house using the electric wiring. Within weeks of the Wi-Fi installation I noticed I had Tinnitus (when at home only). I also noticed all my family seemed vaguely unwell, nothing serious just like a low-level virus that never cleared up, I didn't relate this to the Wi-Fi until my mother had the same system installed at her house a year or so later. She started getting horrible headaches and felt constantly under the weather. We both started to feel a burning/ringing on the left side of our head (around the ear). I began to notice if I worked in an office with 20/30 people in it and various Wi-Fi routers my head started to tingle (like little electric shocks across it) and these carried on after I went home, then would go away overnight. During this time, I started to suffer with bouts of uncontrollable anxiety (I had never had anxiety before) and feelings of impending doom. I had 3 miscarriages and irregular painful periods. I developed IBS, now if I turn my mobile phone on to Data or my laptop on in the morning, I suddenly need to go to the toilet, this doesn't happen on days I don't use my phone/laptop. I can still use my laptop for work but use plastic fibre optic connectors, I cannot just use ethernet cables. I still get tingly fingers where I hold the mouse and if I work for too long or watch videos, I start to feel nausea (like motion sickness). We no longer have Wi-Fi at home and have been able to convince my employers that I need to work from home. If I spend too long in the shops or in a pub, I start to feel very uneasy, with a tight chest and palpitations, my skin starts to go very red and feels like it's on fire. When home I unable to sleep for hours no matter how tired I am and my legs won't stop jumping. Sometimes I then vomit the next morning. It’s a pretty grim existence for both me and my family, very few people believe it’s real. But I’m not the sort of person who enjoys being ill or wants attention, I just want to be normal again. To go out and to go on holiday's again. Thanks for reading.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6539318/ "Relationship between Physical Activity, Screen Time, and Sleep Quantity and Quality in US Adolescents Aged 16–19" "Abstract Despite the health benefits associated with physical activity (PA), screen time reduction, and sleep quantity and quality, the relationships between PA, screen time, and sleep quantity and quality remain unclear in adolescents. The present study is a cross-sectional analysis of data from adolescents aged 16–19 years who participated in the 2005–2006 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (n = 542). Multivariable logistic regression models, adjusted for confounders, examined the relationship between objectively measured PA, self-reported screen time, and sleep quantity and quality. Respondents who met the current PA recommendation had 50% lower odds of having sufficient sleep (≥8 h) than those not meeting the recommendation (OR = 0.50, 95% CI: 0.26, 0.94). Respondents who met the screen time recommendation (≤2 h/day) had 55% lower odds of reporting poor sleep quality than those whose screen time exceeded the recommendation (OR = 0.45, 95% CI: 0.22, 0.91), with similar patterns observed for females and males. However, males who met both PA and screen time recommendations had 73% lower odds of reporting poor sleep quality than males who met neither recommendation (OR = 0.27, 95% CI: 0.07, 0.99). In conclusion, PA and screen time are associated with sleep quantity or sleep quality in adolescents, and there are differences in these associations by sex."

Reports headaches, tinnitus, balance problems and sleep disruption after a smart-meter installation, late…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I unwittingly had a SMART electricity meter fitted in an understairs cupboard in the centre of my home (I think it was 2017). I slept with my head six inches from it, only a plasterboard stud wall and my headboard in between. I suffered early morning headaches, nausea, tinnitus and disrupted sleep. In 2020, when we were locked down, I spent more time at home and my symptoms worsened drastically, I began feeling dizzy and sustained injuries from falling after losing my balance on several occassions. My skin itched constantly and I started to feel confused, brain fogged and disproportionately angry when exposed to mobile phones. In the last few months, using a mobile phone causes my heart to pound and my blood pressure to increase sharply, it's fine when I don't have any exposure. I'm not alone! My son, age 51, has also begun to feel symptoms, when exposed, he experiences chronic fatigue, bouts of unexplained anger and frustration, and becomes confused. I suffer from hypothyroidism, as do both of my next door neighbours on either side, who live with SMART meters in their homes. I have a good friend who has a cell tower adjacent to his house, he suffers more symptoms and I find the energy in his home so toxic that I cannot go in his house. I am SO VERY GRATEFUL to Secretary Kennedy for raising awareness on this issue, which I believe is causing suffering worldwide. Thank you!

Proposes magnetoreception as an explanation for electromagnetic sensitivity, requests research and medica…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
There are indications that humans possess a magnetic sense. Since this is a fact that has not yet shifted the scientific paradigm, we must rely on current knowledge. Is it ethical to turn a deaf ear? Canaries were used to ensure the safety of mines. We have “canaries” who can speak and write, but our current worldview prevents us from listening to them. It’s ethical to consider this line of thinking. What if people had a magnetic sense? What would change then? What should be studied in that case? What should be taken into account? What should be done differently? What should be done when it is a known fact that all senses function in such a way that there are people in the population whose particular sense is more sensitive than the average? We are familiar with hyper-tasters, people with hypersensitivity to sound, people with sensitivity to light, etc. Is it ethically right, then, to design living environments in such a way that a sensitive person cannot find refuge from the very factor that causes their sensitivity and symptoms? Magnetic sensitivity could affect neurological symptoms, such as dizziness, headaches, or sleep disturbances, especially in technology-rich environments. Doctors might begin to assess magnetic sensitivity as part of a neurological examination, particularly in patients with unexplained symptoms. A new medical specialty might emerge—such as “magneto-neurology”—that focuses on the effects of magnetic fields on the human nervous system. Current safety limits (e.g., SAR values for MRI machines) are based on tissue heating and electromagnetic effects. If magnetic sensitivity were recognized, restrictions might also be imposed based on neurological effects. Henshaw, D. L., & Philips, A. (2024). A mechanistic understanding of human magnetoreception validates the phenomenon of electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS). International Journal of Radiation Biology , 1–19. https://doi.org/10.1080/09553002.2024.2435329   Open Access article. There must be a proper scientific explanation to my symptoms. I have other theories also than magnetoreception. Reseachers should find the truth and explanations. I have symptoms: pains that come and go, pain in everywhere : ears, fingers, legs, teeth, tongue. Skin burning. I can't hear properly when I am exposed to too much radiation. I can't sleep since my neighbour watches smart-TV at night and my body resonates with the wireless technology used. My blood sample shows that I have become allergic. Elevated allergy year through even though I am supposed to have symptoms only when trees blossom in spring. It feels all of a suddend that air is really cold eventhough I know it's completely normal. Wireless radiation feels like the air is polluted and dangerous. Please do something to wifi and base town radiation. No wireless sensors, no wireless meters for water consuption monitoring and so on. I deserve to live a normal life but I live inside nightmare.

Quotes a review concerning laptop and incubator fields, fetal exposure and newborn heart-rate variability…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
https://bioinitiative.org/wp-content/uploads/pdfs/sec19_2012_Fetal_neonatal_effects_EMF.pdf Pregnant women with laptops close to their belly receive more EMF for the child than safety limits allow. But less so if the laptop is on a table. "Induced electric currents were estimated for both the pregnant woman and the fetus. Statistical values of the averaged current density were evaluated for body tissues including the body of the fetus, and the grey and white matter of the brain of the mother; the mother’s cerebellum, the mother’s cerebrospinal fluid and mother’s muscle tissue. In each case, the larger exposure was generated by the power supply rather than the laptop operation. Levels of induced current substantially exceeded ICNIRP public safety limits, assuming close proximity of the laptop to the belly of the pregnant woman (for the fetus, between 182% and 263.7% of the ICNIRP standard); and for the woman (between 346.7% and 483.5% of the ICNIRP standard). Simple measures to distance the laptop during use (placing it on a table or desk and not on the body of the user) will result in significant reduction of ELF-EMF exposure and induced electric current in both mother and fetus..." On how to reduce extremely low frequency EMF exposure in incubators. "To allow what is an essential medical intervention for the growing premature baby, or the sick infant who needs exceptional care following birth, at least two possible solutions to reduce ELF-EMF levels are:  Designing incubators with the motor far from the baby (some incubators already have adopted this measure) and  Using ELF-EMF absorbing panels to shield the baby’s body from emissions (like Mu metal)." ... Nurses get EMF near incubators. High EMF influences baby heart rate variability. "Another paper showed that nurses are also exposed to high EMF while working near incubators [ Bellieni, 2002]. Bellieni et al [2008] reported that the exposure to high electromagnetic fields can interfere with the sympathetic nervous system in altering babies’ heart rate variability. Heart rate variability (HRV) of 43 newborns in incubators was studied. HRV is an index of Autonomous Nervous System activity. The study group comprised 27 newborns whose HRV was studied throughout three 5-minute periods: 1) with incubator motor on, 2) with incubator off, and 3) with incubator on again, respectively. Mean HRV values obtained during each period were compared. The control group comprised 16 newborns but exposed to no source of ELF-EMF; they were exposed to changes in background noise similar to those provoked by the incubator motor (to reproduce the conditions of the first cohort). Mean total power and the high-frequency (HF) component of HRV increased significantly and the mean low-frequency (LF)/HF ratio decreased significantly when the incubator motor was turned off. Basal values were restored when incubators were turned on again. Changes in background noise did not provoke any significant change in HRV. We therefore concluded that ELF-EMFs produced by incubators influence newborns' HRV, showing an influence on their 8 autonomous nervous system. More research is needed to assess possible long-term consequences, since premature newborns may be exposed to these high ELF-EMFs for months." ... "Existing FCC and ICNIRP public safety limits seem to be not sufficiently protective of public health, in particular for the young (embryo, fetus, neonate, very young child). The World Health Organization International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified both ELF-EMF and RF EMF (wireless radiofrequency) as Possible Human Carcinogens (Group 2B). New, biologically-based public exposure standards are critically needed. Common sense measures to limit both ELF-EMF and RF EMF in these populations is needed, especially with respect to avoidable exposures like incubators that can be modified; and where education of the pregnant mother with respect to laptop computers, mobile phones and other sources of ELF-EMF and RF EMF are easily instituted. It is not in the public interest to wait: A precautionary approach may provide the frame for decision making where remediation actions have to be realized to prevent high exposures of children and pregnant woman."

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am very sensitive when exposed to all wierless tecnical gadgets, mobilephones, WiFi, Routers and similar things. I can only use wired technology for my dayly use of technology. These problems I have had for twelve years now and I have had to rearrange everything in our house without wireless technology. ee Visiting official areas like healthcare institutions is troublesome and takes several days to get back to a stable situation again. The symptoms are lack of centration, trembling, distant, mild headace and less sleep per night. The problems are constant, without meauserable variasions. These problems constrains my social life and are annoying. My contact with the Swedish Healthcare has not been able to give me the help I need to change my situation.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am not an American citizen. I am submitting this in my individual capacity as a concerned and affected global resident. Tinnitus, sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, headache, loss of balance, idiopathic skin rashes, pulsations between ears, palpitations of the heart, pain in the ears, fatigue, red eyes. These are some of the symptoms I’ve experienced. That these symptoms are called Havana Syndrome was verbally confirmed by an esteemed doctor who also asked me if there was a cellphone tower around me and told me to stay away from it. Yes we have a cellphone tower near my home. Additionally, at a particularly intensified period of encountering elements with questionable ethics who stalked me, I heard a gibberish sound that tapered out, followed by sudden vibrations that cause heat in the body, nausea, dizziness, loss of balance and pain in escalating severity. At times this painful vibration was targeted at a particular location of my body, specifically one that already has been causing a dull ache. All of this has resulted in physical weakness leading to accidents that further deteriorate the quality of my life. My dog shows the same symptoms of loss of balance and skin rashes, even bleeding, sensitive ears. I’ve found him whimpering at nights. Furthermore my family has experienced health issues ranging from tinnitus, loss of brain function to cancer. Microwave, EMF, sound and electronic technology is weaponised against unsuspecting civilians by malicious threat actors as the world moves towards mass surveillance. We need governments to acknowledge and effect regulations, counter measures, safety protocols, anti-harm technology, medical care to solve to issues already created. Since the United States leads technological development of the globe, you must also take responsibility and effect ethical safeguards for mankind’s safe transition to a world that leverages it. Easily accessible counter technology and information about it should be widely available to civilians. Everyone cannot walk around in a faraday cage or make their home and environment one. Thank you for your time and attention, Regards,

The commenter reports long-standing EMF sensitivity, an acoustic neuroma, hearing loss, severe insomnia, …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am responding as an individual: 3a. Type of wireless or RF/EMF sources involved (e.g., mobile phones, Wi-Fi, smart meters…) Mobile phones, cordless phones, WiFi, cell towers 3b. Nature, duration, frequency, and approximate timing (e.g., years): For at least the past 30 years. 3c. Adverse health effect(s) experienced: Brain tumour (acoustic neuroma), hearing loss, severe insomnia, functional impairment, neurological issues. 3d. Time from first exposure to first appearance of adverse health effects; and did a change in exposure coincide with the onset of adverse effects: The effects are immediate but it took years for me to make the connection. I've been sensitive to all EMFs since I was a teenager, and things got progressively worse as WiFi and cell towers were rolled out. 3e. Was medical evaluation or treatment sought? (Optionally:) Was there a diagnosis? Yes, although largely ineffective, with it being attributed to 'nervous anxiety' and other psychosomatic issues. Ultimately diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma when things came to a head (mine!). 3f. Were steps taken to reduce or eliminate exposure, and were there subsequent changes in the effects? Yes. When I discovered the tumour in 2009, I immediately gave up all wireless devices and moved to the countryside. This helped a lot, but a lot of damage had been done and it has taken many years for that to be repaired, although some aspects (eg deafness in right ear due to surgery) may never recover. 3g. Any supporting documentation? This includes Scientific Reports, exposure measurements, or other relevant information: MRI showing acoustic neuroma, meter readings that always backed up my physical sensations after the fact, and letters from doctors attesting to my intolerance. Additional Details you would like to share about your experiences of adverse health effects you believe to be associated with exposure to wireless radiation or EMFs: I instantly feel wireless radiation as an intense pressure in my head, as well as dizziness, brain fog, disorientation... B1a. Sources you experience as causing you Adverse Effects: WiFi, cell phones, cell towers, cordless phones, magnetic fields B1b. Sources you can sense, but don't seem to harm you: All those I feel have an effect B1c. Sources you can use without sensing or being harmed: None B1d. Sources that seem to provide benefit (i.e., electrotherapy):None, other than following a low-oxalate diet, which has helped hugely with sleep and general resilience. This is a common feature for many EMF-affected individuals as oxalate increases sensitivity to wireless radiation. Oxalate binds with minerals, pulling calcium out of bones and depositing in tissue, which greatly impacts EMF sensitivity. Vegetarians are increasingly affected, since only animal products have low/zero oxalate. B2a. Health conditions you think may contribute to your sensitivity to EMFs including wireless: I am generally sensitive to things, although I don't consider this a health condition, merely an enhanced awareness of things. B2b. Health conditions you don't necessarily associate with your sensitivity to EMFs including wireless, but might be relevant: Dietary issues (mostly relating to oxalate, which affects electrolytes, as mentioned above). B3. For each subquestion please list up to 5 drugs or therapies or home remedies (if any) B3a. That you recommend, as they helped you tolerate or recover from EMF exposure: Biggest improvement is from drastically reducing oxalate intake and following an almost-carnivore diet. Nothing else has helped in a measurable way. Meditation and neural reprogramming. B3b. That you recommend, but you’re not positive that they help: None B3c. That helped you but you don’t recommend. (e.g., the benefit did not last long or the side effects were too harmful): Almost everything I tried (countless therapies, supplements and remedies) before staring the low-oxalate diet. B3d. Treatments that had no effect: acupuncture, homeopathy, supplements B3e. Treatments that made your sensitivity worse: PEMF therapy B4. What is your age range? 65-74 B5. What year did you become aware of your sensitivity to wireless radiation or electromagnetic fields? 2009, although I had issues long before this; I just hadn't made the connection. B6. What country, state, province, or major city were you living in when you first noticed your sensitivity to wireless or electromagnetic fields? Canada
