Smart meters

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. My comment is to explain the details of what I have to go through to live in this contaminated EMF environment. This is what I have to do what I can to protect myself from EMF radiation: I moved to the country on acreage so that I have no neighbors close to me which reduces my exposure. I refused the Smart Reader (which fortunately Oregon allows) and now have to pay an additional $3 per month as meter reading fee even though they do not read the meter monthly. They only read the meter once a year. My router does not have a separate WiFi on/off switch and Century Link says they do not have a router with this feature that is compatible with this capability. Therefore, I turn off my router and only turn it on when I access the internet which I do only on a hardwired laptop. I do not have a Smart TV so that it is not adding to my exposure. I watch tv with an antenna and record programs with the software on my Hauppauge tuner that is in the desktop computer attached to my TV screen. All hardwired. However, when my tv monitor goes out I understand that there are no TV’s without WiFi available anymore. I do not have any appliances with WiFi capabilities but I understand that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find any appliance without WiFi which will become a problem in the future. I do not have space for a printer near my computer so I have to use WiFi. I keep that printer turned off so that it is not searching for a WiFi signal except when I need to print something. On my cell phone I keep Bluetooth, WiFi, Data and Location off at all times. Every couple days, I try to remember to turn on WiFi for a few minutes in order to receive any text messages that were sent to me by RCS. I keep my cell phone in a far corner in my house and when I am outside, I keep it away from my body. I use a stylus to text. I use Airplane mode, Farraday bag, turning my phone off as other methods to reduce EMF. I have an in-ground landline phone line to my house, and I have corded phones. I installed LED lights in my kitchen and dining area before I knew that they were not good for my health. Now, due to federal regulations I am not able to purchase new cans and incandescent bulbs. That needs to be reversed. My car is a 2008 and therefore does not have the invasive electronic features. I have not purchased a new car because, I understand that any car from 2012 to date has all the invasive electronic features. I do not know what I am going to do if my car fails and I have to replace it. Going inside any hospital or clinic is very unhealthy as you are barraged with EMF. If I require medical assistance it will need to be outside of the medical system. I am forced to pay for Medicare even though I choose not to, and cannot, use its services. I am researching to find out how I can opt out of Medicare so that I can use that money to support my health outside of the HealthCare system such as Home Care, Telehealth, etc. As you can see, this is A LOT. I am blessed to now be retired and have the money to be able to make these modifications in order to feel healthy and vibrant and protect my health. But the question is, should we be creating a world where this is necessary? I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

In 2006, I moved into an apartment complex in Aurora Colorado, just East of Denver. It was quiet and friendly. Then Smart Meters were installed. Residents began waking up in the middle of the night, fighting and screaming. That woke the dogs up, and it got much worse. The energies of those things are turbulent and hurtful. They are also horrific privacy violators, collecting data neither the companies nor government has any right to without a warrant.

They had proof that wireless radiation exposure is harmful to us. It has been proven beyond a doubt. I have read many reports that show proof of these facts. Please help to protect our little ones especially. I have requests to NOT have Smart Meters installed at my home and I was told I will be penalized financially. That is not fair that I am trying to protect my family. Please consider the proof that is being provided.

I have found recently that my electric company switched my meter for a smart meter for a year. I had called the electric company asking them if something was wrong because electric was being heated up inside of the house. They said nothing. After a year of radiation burns and dog seizures, I had an electrician come look and he said it’s your smart meter. I told him I don’t have one. He said I do. When I called the electric company they wouldn’t remove it. I told them I wanted to opt out and hey said they will meet about it next week. They are not removing it! Please help!!! A recent study by Yale researchers published in Cell Reports found that exposure to wireless radiofrequency (RF) radiation — emitted by cell phones, cell towers, and Wi-Fi — interfered with neurodevelopment and increased the expression of autism-related genes in laboratory models of the fetal brain. This was a state-of-the-art study using human cortical organoids — tiny, lab-grown models of the developing human brain. Created from stem cells, these organoids form many of the same early brain structures seen in a fetus. They are not full brains and have no consciousness, but they closely mimic early fetal brain development, and scientists use them to study how environmental exposures such as air pollution, microplastics, and diesel fuel could impact the brain. The experiments used a wireless transmitter operating at Bluetooth frequency and power, at exposure levels 4,000 times lower (0.025%) than the FCC’s limit for allowable human exposure to RF wireless radiation. “Our findings revealed that RF-exposed cortical neurons exhibited increases in Autism Spectrum Disorder-associated gene expression and dendritic spine density, characteristics of patients on the autism spectrum.” How 'bout a garage door opener that turns out to have v. strong wifi. I felt it even outside the garage by a least 10 feet, so I wonder how the person whose bed it's underneath will be affected? Techs wouldn't come and replace it w. a difft one because they said it's now "used," even tho it was only their testing of it that made it used... Same w. banks of SCE "smart meters," 5 of which are housed next to one apartment. 2 successive tenants got nasal infections requiring heavy antibiotic usage while subsisting next to them. Infections awfully close to the brain. I am the only person in the building who "opted out" with a pretty hefty financial penalty. I keep my cell phone on airplane mode at all times, unless I need to make a text or speaker-call, which is very rarely. My office computer, and a monitor in the living room for Netflix, are both hardwired via ethernet, w. the modem way out at street level so I don't feel it. Electromagnetic Sensitivity (EMS) is a federally recognized condition by which individuals suffer adverse health effects due to electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure. It is also commonly referred to as Electrosensitivity, Electro-hypersensitivity (EHS), microwave syndrome/illness and radiofrequency sickness. I do support the commission’s enunciated goals for advancing “equity in the provision of and access to digital communication services and products for all people of the United States, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or disability.” But I also believe that forcing exposure – even as part of a genuine effort to provide broadband access – is itself a form of discrimination as a matter of law. More importantly, it is fundamentally inequitable because it leads to great harm: people with severe symptoms are functionally excluded from public participation since almost all public spaces are flooded with RF, and those with wireless facilities nearby cannot even take refuge in their homes. Ethernet is cheaper more secure and physically safer than wifi, which most tech pros will affirm.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure and am submitting from my perspective as a family member, caregiver , someone who has been physically impacted and as a concerned member of the public. We chose to have my elderly mother wear a Life Support brand device on her wrist to alert family and fire department in case she might fall. At night she would take it off. When she began leaving it on the dining room table the device would not be working the next morning. Numerous times we had to get a replacement by mail. Leaving her vulnerable during the "no device, in shipment" times. One day I realized that the electric company's Smart Meters for her apartment and 11 others were placed on the outer wall next to the dining room table. Having read about the charges carried by the meters I asked her to no longer place the Life Support wristband device on the table. Onc she stopped doing so we never had to replace another device. The sad part is that I had put up a sheet of EMF protective material on the inside of the wall in question. And yet it was not strong enough to protect the medical device. My personal impact occurred when taking my mother to a doctor's appointment at a local teaching hospital. As we entered the exam room I became short of breath, having trouble getting a full breath and my heart began pounding. This happened on two different occasions of walking into the exam room. But as soon as I left the premises the symptoms disappeared. I came to find out that my body was reacting to the effect of EMF's disrupting the oxygen saturation in my blood stream. Stories have been shared by my friends of hearing a high pitch whine coming from behind walls in their homes, of pets not entering rooms or showing fear of entering rooms with new wifi devices that they had once entered. I can not use a cell phone for longer than 15 minutes or my arm begins to tingle and ache. I support the department of HHS taking an active and directing role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. It is now more important and timely - as more and more wireless devices are brought to communities and the marketplace - that questions about human health and risks should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and it is imperative that the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. The existing study/recommendation for cell phone exposure/use is long outdated and the technology has only become more specialised and of a higher and more intense energy yet we are relying solely on outdated guidelines or information supplied by the companies making, supplying and financially benefitting from the sales of the products in question. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard. This is a issue of national and international importance and urgency as the world relies on advancing technologies. EMF has effected me since before 5G, 5G makes me sick, headache, angry, pensive, want to curl up in ball and cry. Use 3 forms of protection on my body and many more in my home. We don’t have 5 G in our town yet but some ignorant moron just put up a tower right in the middle of our town The entire town will be under the DEW when they turn it on. I can’t go to big cities anymore to see my kids, the EMF makes my heart hurt and I can’t even begin to relax. It’s awful. You do know Scientists and the Military call Cell Towers DEWS, they know what’s going on and something needs to be done before they send a frequency through the towers that kills every living thing on this planet. I will be glad in the future when we can bring suit against this evil for the pain and suffering they cause a lot of people. There are no regulations and the Safety people of these companies are totally ignorant to EMF sensitivity. Told my Electric company not to put a Smart Meter on my property, they waited until I was gone and installed it anyway. I haven’t been able to sleep in my bedroom since. Called them to get it removed, they said it would cost me $1700-2000. The PREC so called Safety person didn’t even know what EMF is. So Pathetic! Something needs to be done. Or they can introduce 6G and it can kill all the morons that took the Covid 19. Either way something needs to be done or USA will be Italy or Ireland where the public are burning down Cell Towers for making their kids sick and killing them. The EMF laws are from 1996, and that’s totally insane, 40 year old regulations in EMF saturated environment. Sounds like it’s time to get up to speed or stop the EMF killing fields. But I know this is all about money and the government doesn’t give one shit about how EMF is hurting people. Can you tell EMF makes me angry? Should make everyone angry enough to do something! Especially the government! Do something!

Our story began when we moved into our "new" 100 year old home, when the Cox internet installer asked where he should install the router. My desk was in my bedroom, so I asked him to install it there... 5 feet away from where I sleep. Then came the smart meter. I began having health problems, but nothing compared to my daughter and son. With a connective tissue disorder, we are considered "sensitives" or "canaries." My daughter spent 8 years sick and mostly bedridden her freshman year. GI problems, neurology problems, chronic pain and migraines, insomnia, nausea, dizziness... On top of what we dealt with in our home, the cell towers, the "free wifi" everywhere, and devices in theirs and everyone else's pockets created a never ending escape from assault. We didn't know what it was at first. Specialists and doctors aren't aware of EMFs, so they weren't much help. Then a picture of "Radiowave Illness" came across my facebook feed and it was every symptom my daughter experienced. I thought I had dealt with all the EMFs, until I used a dirty electricity meter and realized there is a wiring issue in our house creating really bad dirty electricity. I could not find an electrician that even knew what dirty electricity was- how were they supposed to fix it? The dangers in radiowaves have been suppressed and ignored to the point that the industries creating them have no clue what they are doing or the harm they are creating by their ignorance.

YES! I am super sensitive to all the EMF's and dirty electricity via digital or smart meters. I have horrible insomnia, fatigue, and ear ringing is driving me up the wall. Please stop all of this, it's in-humane!

I was living in Honolulu, HI when it opened as the first Iridium satellite gate and when the full system was activated. My health and quality of life was immediately affected. I can't sleep as well, think as well, and have had increasing health issues related to radiation exposures as the levels have increased since then. I have been diagnosed by an MD, under WHO codes, as having radiation and microwave sickness. I have had to move 4 or more times, pay to opt out of smart meters and to modify my home environment, and have lost access to public spaces. I have been forced to use cell phones while traveling, and now even for banking and government services, and have no phone at home options other than voice over internet, which is very poor quality. The more the wireless in integrated into public utilities and public spaces the sicker I have become and been forced to restrict my travel and social life. It has made me functionally disabled with no place of safe shelter and no way to communicate normally and at great financial cost. I don't need or want wireless radiation in consumer products, and I don't want highly conductive nanoparticles or semi-conductive materials in my food, medicine, clothing and household appliances and products, because it increases my sensitivity. If putting wireless objects against or near your body is not advised by manufacturers and doctors, why would anyone want to put wireless objects inside your body? Making a hand held cell phone that can't work without contact to your hand is a health hazard, and a terrible design for communication devices. I have telephone jacks in my recently built home that are now useless and the replacements are much more expensive. I don't want pulsed microwave radiation running through the wiring in my home. How about adapting the technology to people and not forcing people to pay for and adapt to new technology that only benefits the really big plans of the military and corporations that should not be involved in human eugenics or in transforming the planet into a wireless AI system.
