Smart meters

I can feel EMFs, RF and wireless radiation. My chest tightens and it becomes hard to breathe. I was driving on Interstate 10 through Phoenix, Arizona one of the first times I experienced this along with a pressure headache. When we got through the city my symptoms went away. When my small town in central Texas replaced power poles from wood to metal I could feel in my breathing. I have had those symptoms on some city streets in Austin and San Antonio also. I cannot hold a cell phone to my ear because it feels like it's burning me. I opted out of getting a smart meter a few years ago since my bed is only about 8 feet from the meter and am charged a fee of $87.50 per month for them to read my meter. I am a veteran, retired from the U.S. Air Force, in my 70's, and I so wish my government would have regulated the tech industry to provide better protection against these energy fields.

I am definitely affected by EMF. When a smart meter was put in my garage by Duke energy in 2020 the area was close to my kitchen. I had family dinners once a month for about 8 people. At some point I noticed when I was in the kitchen too long usually making the big dinner after an hour or so I felt like I had the flu and could barely make it to my bedroom at the far end of the house to lay down. I would usually fall asleep for an hour or 2 and wake up and feel fine. After this happened a few times I realized it never happened before 2020 and I never felt so sick in my bedroom where I stayed most of the time working, watching tv and eating. My bedroom is the furthest from the smartmeter. A few times I made a lunch that took a lot of time and by the time I finished cooking it I felt so sick I could only get a couple bites down and had to throw the rest away and lay down. I bought an EMF meter to monitor the bad areas. At night I get my computer and my cell phone out of my bedroom and close them in another room. I called Duke and made them remove the smartmeter. They charge me an extra $30 a month because of that. I've never lived close to a 5G tower.

When they installed a smart meter on our house I became very ill, dizziness, muscle fatigue and very weak. After paying to have this opted off our house I have slowly been recovering. These put bad electrical fields thru your entire house.

In 2017 I was injured by WiFi emanating from a replaced router/modem in early December 2016. My computer had always been intentionally wired. The technician turned on WIFI throughout the house and never mentioned it. Within four months I was feeling the weakening effects. By April I experienced flu like symptoms that never went away so I thought perhaps I had developed allergies.. By August I had become physically very handicapped and saw a chiropractor weekly so I could walk or turn my head. My hair had turned white and much had fallen out. I thought of killing myself as the irradiation process and disintegration was very painful, but due to senility which was also created, I could never remember my plans from the night before to end the misery. In mid-August I was invited to a friend's book signing on the history of electricity, The Invisible Rainbow. He read all the symptoms of electrical poisoning. I said to a friend sitting beside me, "I have all those symptoms". My friend said, "Well, you must have WiFi at your house." I replied in the negative and he insisted on seeing for himself. And yes, WiFi was everywhere till he turned it off. Obviously I am not computer literate. So yes, the WiFi was gone but not the symptoms. I was senile for about four more years. Parts of my body did not work well for several years. My hearing and eyesight are both, almost ten years later, very problematic. I had 20/20 eyesight prior to the WiFi. Digestive issues come and sometimes go, which had never been an issue before. I am allergic to cell phones; I have a landline whose receiver I cannot talk into but I use the speakerphone part. If I fly, I must wear special clothing and a head cover. Out in public if I get too much EMF exposure, I will have a bad cough the next day or even two if the exposure is too prolonged. My quality of life is definitely diminished. However I am very grateful that the cause of my ill health had been found before I died from the radiation. I am very concerned about the Smart Meter march forward as I know I will not have long to live if Smart Meters are required on every home. Please stop this from happening! Obviously I cannot be close to cell towers. Their proliferation is definitely cause for concern as the human race has not had time to mutate or adjust somehow to this influx of unhealthy EMF. People here have correlated proximity of cell towers to cancer outbreaks in that area of town, but the City Council professed not to be able to stop the spread of cell towers due to the FCC regulations and fines that would ensue if in opposition to cell tower erections. This is Unconstitutional and against each individual's right to life. I thank you so much for giving those afflicted a platform to espresso their concerns. If my immense suffering can save others from such an experience, I will feel I have not suffered in vain. Please help us all!

There are many non profits and individuals who have been studying this stuff for years. Please look them up, skywatchcollective, geoengineering.org, Arianna masters, Sayer Jai… I have sensitivities to EMFs. As does my daughter and son. In combination with mold and heavy metals especially. Headaches, chronic cough, anxiety and a bussing through out my body. My husband experienced tinnitus since they installed a smart meter by his head around 10 years ago, it still hasn’t gone away. The small cells everywhere. I believe it contributes to heart attacks and has something to do with mold, heavy metals (chemtrails spewing aluminum, barium and strontium all visible in the after spray sunsets). I feel like we are being attacked physically.

Hello, It is far past time for you to be looking into this issue. The FCC has shamefully been avoiding this issue for 30 years. EMF radiation has exploded over that time period with no further research or regulations coming from any federal agency. At the same time 90% of non-industry funded research shows some level of harm from almost all levels and frequencies of EMF, and many below what people are currently exposed to. I thank Mr. Kennedy for getting involved in this but it is way past due. I am especially concerned about smart meters for residential electric metering, as they are getting ready to implement them in my area. I don't believe these should be forced on people and they really don't perform as advertised. They do however emit extreme levels of EMFs constantly while sending everyone's personal info all over the place where it can easily be intercepted. But the health effects are my primary concern. Anyway, we are all inundated daily with 1,000 times more EMF than we were just 20 years ago. It is way past due for the federal government to seriously and unbiasedly (uninfluenced by the industry) look into the health effects of EMF. I believe the main reason it hasn't been done is because it's already known what they will find, and it's not good. It's shameful that they continue to allow continued implementation of greater and greater amounts of this radiation without any concern for human health. I know this is officially the FCC's jurisdiction, but that agency has been captured by the communications industry almost since it's inception. HHS's reputation is not much better as you seem unable to remove your self from Big Pharma's influence. Maybe you can do some honest and meaningful work in this area as Pharma is not directly involved. I'm sure if you classify it as a disease they will come up with a vaccine or medicine to try to alleviate the symptoms but not cure it. Please put some real effort into this, the world's health is at risk. Thank You

I worked in IT for a cable company for eight years, working in VERY buzzy cable head ends (full of servers), and before that I worked as a computer tech for several years, always in front of a computer and always on a cell phone. The more time I spent in server rooms and on the computer, the more it interfered with my sleep. Also I'm right handed so this affected the hearing in my right ear, and then I started to develop tinnitus before I finally quit. It got a bit better after that, but then when I moved to a new house and I had to sleep in a room where the bed was against a wall that had a Smart Meter outside, it got way worse. I experienced several years of terrible loud tinnitus roars and whistles before I understood that I might be affected by electro magnetic... something, anyway. I made the power company come swap it out for an analog meter and my tinnitus has gotten a little better since then, but now I've lost hearing in one ear.

Hello, Before I start, I want to say that I had my whole eardrum replaced in 87 as a doc flushed my ear out so hard, the whole side of my neck was killing me and had black stuff coming from ear and needed a new ear drum. Living on a farm in Gorham Maine yrs. ago, I was in our garden and someone was doing something on the 1 bedroom house I was renting and didn't think much of it till every 2 mins. I was getting stabbing sharp pain in my eardrum and didn't know why. My cat was looking around at nothing going on. This went on for a while till I found out the landlord allowed a smart meter on house. When I learned about Analog, I had it removed and problem was solved. Now I live in a town called Westbrook Maine, the week I moved in, I had meter changed to Digital, they claim they can't get parts for Analog which is another lie. They can put Satellite's in space but no parts for meters. The Public is beyond sick of being lied too. I have a neighbor downstairs who keeps Wifi on 24/7 and a neighbor to the left of me doing the same. I have no Wifi in my Apt and everything is hard wired, yet I have been losing my hair since moving in. I can feel a sensation on my head, gentle pull on that area and hair comes out. I can feel it coming from light sockets on my skin and I went from 1 old Lenovo laptop which was ok but it didn't support windows 11 so I had to get a Lenovo Yoga and I feel the strength of EMF coming from screen. My neighbor is also losing hair but she doesn't want to hear it. I am only 66 yrs. old and this has been going on for 3 yrs. The biggest problem I find with Tech is they create something without being MADE TO make sure it is safe 1st. An example is Halogen car lights or even other car lights, or LED lights, did anyone EVER consult with eye experts to see if any of these lights were safe to public? My answer is no. They are allowed to create anything without knowing safety 1st. I worked for 2 manufacturing Incandescent light bulbs, both factories moved to Mexico in the 80's and 90's. From what I understand, the court ordered FCC or someone to test safety of EMF and they gave the finger to the courts and did nothing. I took Cosmetology at my Trade school so I know when the skin is effected, it's bound to effect the hair Follicles. I don't know what more I can do. Every time we save to move more into the Country, the muffler needs work at $1000 a wack. I am totally awake as to what has been going on my whole life as I was going to be 4 yrs. old the day after JFK was shot and I thought as a self centered child, I thought my mom couldn't afford a birthday gift for me as we were 4 kids and dad gone, but when I went to penny candy store, owner was sad too so I knew from a young age things weren't right. Now they talk about satellites beaming down, what does that do to humanity and nature? Can anyone ever tell the truth for once? It also does no good to Regenerate soil while our skies are sprayed daily and I had my rain water tested 15 yrs. ago. When does the insanity stop, I don't know but I pray daily. Until Humanity is more important than profits, it will continue. We need a reawakening, far to many asleep and God will not bless America if we don't get involved and change our ways. I want to also express my Gratitude for all the hard work this Administration is doing, American and the world is watching, God speed. With more Wi-Fi being included with personal items in our homes, from our alarm systems to our HVAC systems and everything in between, how do we know how much we're ultimately being exposed to? We had a Wi-Fi smart meter removed from our power panel because it sits directly beneath our master bedroom, which means that we are being exposed to Wi-Fi all night long while we are sleeping. But we have to PAY an extra fee to not be radiated by our smart meter every month. And yet, the power company has NO RESPONSIBILITY to ensure that their Wi-Fi meter is safe for our health. There are so many issues that have yet to be addressed and I strongly urge this administration to fully research the safety of all these technologies.

As a concerned healthcare practitioner, parent and citizen,I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. In the past 20 years, my healthcare practice has shown a drastic increase in patients with chronic insomnia along with all the other chronic disease that shows up in the human body when it does not get to repair itself from a decent night’s sleep. Most people wake up now about 3 am as a result of the data dump on smart meters. Then everyone continues to get assaulted by all the EMF pollution in our homes, cars, places of work and cities we live in for the rest of the day. Even going out in nature has radiation humming. There is no escaping EMF pollution currently. Removing people from their immediate environment is a temporary fix. There are certainly ways to lower EMF pollution in the home, which shows drastic improvement in symptoms for those affected. We shouldn’t have to do that. We should have our federal agencies looking out for human health so we don’t have to take such drastic measures. I personally have watched many friends become aware of this unavoidable pollution throughout the years as well. I look forward to seeing HHS hiring the best scholars in medicine, biology, epidemiology and public health and examining the large body of evidence exposing the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Alongside these studies, individual experience of the detrimental effects citizens are reporting should be examined closely and brought to light. HHS responsibility is to protect the health of our citizens, especially the children and other vulnerable populations from any health insult, especially the big ones that have already done so much damage like wireless radiation. Thank you for giving the public a chance to tell HHS our experiences, research and opinions so that we may be heard and you may step up.
