Reports personal and family symptoms associated with wireless devices, raises cancer and child-health con…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of an advocate, friend, and family member of people who have had adverse reactions to microwave radiation from cell phones, wireless routers, or cell towers. Although I personally do not have a strong immediate adverse reaction to microwave exposure, I know several people who do. Here are some vignettes from my experience: My sister in Utah complained to me about a twitch her 13-year-old grandson had developed, and wanted to take him to a chiropractor to see if anything could be done to help him. I asked her whether anything had changed in his life that might have caused this. She said no, but then called me back and said, yes. They had moved their wireless router into his bedroom. Upon removing it, his twitch went away. I, too, have noticed adverse reactions to wireless devices. I'm pretty adverse to using them at all, but I notice if I send text messages over a period of 10 or 15 minutes, my hands begin to tingle uncomfortably. On one occasion, I attended an event in an enclosed basement auditorium at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. It was a debate on the potential adverse effects of wireless devices, pitting Dr. Martin Pall against an attorney from the wireless industry. The wireless spokesman laughed at us when we asked that cell phones be put on airplane mode, because the wireless routers in the room were pointed from the ceiling at the attendees. After an hour and a half in that room I developed a headache and body aches, and was grateful to get out of there. I question what effect this was having on students trying to learn something. And why so many babies and young children are born with unusual health problems. And why so many young men are developing prostate cancer, and children in general are developing brain tumors. these are questions that should be addressed prior to the federal government allowing the definition of "broadband" expansion to include wireless and fiber-optice to the premises as if they were the same thing. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Requests independent review of exposure limits, cumulative and nonthermal effects, reproductive and cance…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment as a consumer concerned about long-term exposure to wireless radiation from phones, Wi-Fi routers, cell towers, and other connected devices. I urge HHS to conduct a thorough, independent review of whether current exposure limits adequately protect public health. This review needs to consider those most heavily exposed and should examine potential effects beyond tissue heating, including evidence concerning cancer, reproductive health, and children’s development. Please prioritize research that reflects how people actually encounter wireless radiation: repeated exposure over many years, often from multiple sources and devices used close to the body. Assessments should consider signal strength, pulse patterns, duration, and combined exposure. Please consider Melnick and Moskowitz’s 2026 analysis of animal data, which argues that existing exposure limits may inadequately protect against cancer and reproductive harm (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12940-026-01288-6). I also ask HHS to evaluate Lai and Levitt’s review of exposure intensity, duration, and signal modulation (https://doi.org/10.1080/15368378.2022.2065683), and Scarato’s review of US regulatory gaps and proposed reforms (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2025.1677583). These papers warrant careful consideration alongside the broader evidence, including studies that have not found adverse effects. I ask HHS to: •Assess whether additional protections are needed for children, pregnant women, and other potentially vulnerable groups. •Support long-term research with safeguards against industry conflicts of interest. •Provide clear information about exposure and practical ways to reduce it, including wired alternatives in homes and schools. •Recommend updated standards wherever the evidence shows that existing limits are insufficient. Consumers should not have to navigate these questions alone. Please use this inquiry to advance transparent science, meaningful oversight, and public health protection.

Reports EHS symptoms after living near a bank of smart meters, partial improvement after changing sleepin…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am an eighty five year old retired female living in a retirement community in Northern California, since October 1013. After living here for about six months, I began having strange physical symptoms - heart palpations, dizziness, nausea and tinnitus. I started investigating the cause of these symptoms, and found six electric smart (wireless) meters on the outside bedroom wall close to where I sleep. They are pulsing high levels of radio frequency radiation 24 hours a day. I discontinued sleeping in that bedroom and the symptoms disappeared, except for the tinnitus. When I stayed at my nephews house in the country which has low EMFs, the tinnitus subsided. This scenario is a classic of someone suffering from electro hypersensitivity (EHS). I urge HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation.

Cites studies reporting both stimulation and inhibition of fungal growth under different electromagnetic …

These studies look at how EMF influences mold. Promoting or inhibiting mold growth depending on frequency and environment. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36354954/ "Enhancement of Fungal Enzyme Production by Radio-Frequency Electromagnetic Fields" "The RF-EMF perfectly resonated at 2 GHz with directivity radiation pattern and peak gain of 0.5 dB (0.01 Watt). Total protein concentration and activity of α-amylase measured in media were about 1.5-3-fold higher in the RF-EMF exposed (10 min) sample than control (no RF-EMF) during incubation (the highest increase after 16 h). The level of α-amylase mRNA in cells was approximately 2-8-fold increased 16 and 24 h after RF-EMF exposure for 10 min. An increase in vesicle accumulation within fungal hyphae and the transcription of some genes involved in protein cellular trafficking was observed in RF-EMF-exposed samples. Membrane potential was not changed, but the intracellular Ca2+ level was elevated after RF-EMF exposure. Our results suggest that RF-EMF can increase the extracellular level of fungal total proteins and α-amylase activity and the intracellular level of Ca2+." https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3417/14/24/11508 "The Effect of Exposure to an Electromagnetic Field on Entomopathogenic Fungi" "Exposure to the 900 MHz frequency stimulated the growth of the mycelium and the pathogenicity of the entomopathogenic fungi, whereas the 1800 MHz electromagnetic field inhibited sporulation and spore germination" https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0048969723005545 "Effect of extremely low frequency electromagnetic field on the pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae" "The pathogenicity of M. oryzae were enhanced under ELF-EMF exposure. •The level of ROS increased in ELF-EMF-exposed M. oryzae. •Cell wall integrity of M. oryzae were enhanced under ELF-EMF exposure. •The infection cycle was shortened under ELF-EMF exposure.* https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1567539419304104 "Effect of static magnetic field on mold corrosion of printed circuit boards" "In the absence of a magnetic field, mold formed a spore-centered corrosion pit group on the surface of the PCB-Cu, which was macroscopically characterized by regional uniform corrosion. When a 10 mT SMF was applied, the magnetic field exhibited an inhibitory effect on the growth of mold, which was hindered, and the corrosion of the PCB-Cu surface slowed down." "Previous studies have shown that the theory of the influence of EMFs on living organisms is based on the effect of magnetic fields on the permeability of ion channels in biofilms [12]. On this basis, the magnetic field can affect the entry and exit of ions inside and outside the cell, and thus, generate some biological changes, having effects on, for example, enzyme and protein activity [13], carbohydrate metabolism [[14], [15], [16], [17], [18]], and genetics [18]. Among them, the action of a static magnetic field (SMF) is explained by the ion quantum state interference, cytoplasmic membrane, and free radical theories [19]. The effect of moderate-intensity SMFs (1 mT to 1 T) on biological systems is related to the nature of the membrane molecular structure (i.e., diamagnetic anisotropy). The general mechanism by which these SMFs act on biological systems is derived on the basis of their effect on the molecular structure of the excitable membrane, which is sufficient to alter the function of the embedded ion-specific channels [19,20]. Whether the magnetic field promotes or inhibits the growth of microorganisms is affected by many factors, such as the strength, application mode, and direction of the magnetic field and the experimental environment. For example, a pulsed magnetic field can utilize its high frequency characteristics to cause microbes in the magnetic field to generate high frequency thermal effects and high induced currents, thus leading to cell death. At the same time, the change in the frequency and intensity of the magnetic field will cause an oscillating effect on the cell membrane, causing the cell membrane to rupture and the microbial extinction [[21], [22], [23], [24]]. Mengxiang Gao et al. studied the metabolic kinetics of Aspergillus niger by aligning two metabolites (citric acid and cellulase) under extremely low frequency micromagnetic fields [24]. The activity of the two metabolites increased immediately after switching on the magnetic field of B = 1 mT and f = 50 Hz, but the experiment of Gao did not solve the problem of how the magnetic field can promote growth. However, for mold in a liquid medium under a high-intensity magnetic field environment, the higher the magnetic induction intensity is, the lower the mold survival rate. These different phenomenological descriptions complicate the interpretation of the potential mechanisms of magnetic fields on biological systems." +++ These effects might happen in people, plants, animals, buildings.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Lives are being impacted in a negative way. It is almost impossible to drive at night due to blinding headlights. LED lights are problematic. I am temporarily unable to see, either blinding me directly in my eyes coming towards me or when the lights appear behind me. Attempting to look away from the lights does not work and causes a dangerous loss of focus on the road. Please research all the impacts to heath, society and safety.

Reports a husband’s worsening health after a wireless meter installation, expresses concern about neighbo…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a parent and grandparent. My husband is chemically sensitive to all man-made (unnatural) chemicals, and his condition has gotten much worse ever since FPL installed their wireless meter outside our bedroom wall. We are being bombarded by radiation from the meter, and from both sides of our home from our neighbors' WIFI routers. I fear for our granddaughters who live in a totally wireless world, without even an analog clock in their home; everything is wireless! This nightmare has got to stop! I support HHS taking an active role in examining the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Thank you for the opportunity to be heard on this critical public health issue.

Describes reducing family wireless use and selecting a school away from a tower, expresses cancer and env…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public and mother. These frequencies interfere with molecular biology and are not resonate to our bodies. It impedes the proper functioning of our bodies and disrupts our wellbeing. I consider it to be an environmental toxin, personally. I first learned about the dangers of EMF exposure when listening to a Health Summit on the matter in 2018. I learned that baby monitors were a very high emitter and immediately stopped using ours to monitor our developing infant. My husband and I also took measures to connect our electronics to the internet with cables rather than use WiFi, including our phones. We also stopped using any Bluetooth devices. Sadly, there are spaces that I cannot protect my family from, such as my son's school. We were able to at least put him in a school that was not right next to a 5G tower, something that happened about half a mile from our house. We opted for a school that was a 15 minute drive from our house rather than expose him to 5G radiation while at school. If this isn't a crime against humanity, I do not know what is. My husband and I are exposed at work and anywhere else we go in town, really. With all the 5G mini towers on tops of buildings throughout town, we feel safest at home and when we're deep out in nature. I recently heard that nature has tech in certain areas so I will be sure to bring my EMF reader to check out my favorite nature areas. We all have the right to know what we are being exposed to, ideally the right to choose not to be exposed in the first place. It would be ideal if our government wanted protections in place for everyone's well being. If only well being was put before money and "convenience". It isn't very convenient to have leukemia or whatever other cancers they're linking to high EMF exposure. Our nervous systems are deeply affected. We all need to take a hard look at the reality of things instead of sticking our heads in the sand. This is not hard to understand. It's only hard to understand if people are concerned about money; the government can print more if they want to anyway. Stop worrying about money and care about the well being of others. Am I altruistic? Yes. Do I know that we are capable of being better to each other and the planet? Yes. We are totally capable. I pray that decisions are made that will make our world a better place to live in. For our health, for our planet, for the animals... Please make healthy decisions when it comes to this matter. ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a parent who is also affected negatively by the radiation. My oldest daughter developed unexplainable headaches and overall disturbing body sensations that left her distracted and unable to focus at school due to the close proximity of 2 cell towers placed literally in the elementary school yard. We took her out of school and within 2 days all of her symptoms disappeared. I am also very impacted and my health suffers when I am exposed to this radiation. I do my best to avoid it but it’s becoming less possible as more towers are being installed daily. I suffer from extreme brain fog and disturbing body sensations as well as extreme fatigue.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public I have personally been negatively affected by wireless towers in my health. I cannot get a proper sleep cycle when I am within 200 yards of a tower - it has also affected my cognitive abilities - I am unable to focus and do my work and have experienced sickness from said towers as well. Because of my sensitivity I am unable to travel to certain areas and have to be careful where I roam. This is unacceptable and deeply concerns me for all in my community that experience this.
