A mental-health professional attributes rising childhood anxiety and personal symptoms to devices and wir…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a licensed mental health professional who specializes in child and youth mental health and trauma. I have been working with children and youths in multiple capacities for nearly 30 years, and I have not only watched their screen addiction increase dramatically over the past decades, I have noticed something especially troubling in the past few years: A sharp increase in restless, unspecified anxiety and panic attacks in children and youths, and at younger and younger ages, starting with toddlers. This is sometimes misdiagnosed by other therapists as "ADHD". In the past, I saw anxiety and panic attacks primarily in children ages 12 and up, but now, it is becoming common in very young children, and one of the primary presenting complaints. I believe that many of these symptoms on the anxiety, restlessness, and panic spectrum, especially in children whose needs are otherwise met (e.g., they have adequate outdoor play time) and without trauma histories, are a direct result of their exposure to EMFs from screens, devices, and cellphone towers, but especially wifi and 5G. I believe that children and youths are especially exposed to this in public schools and public universities. When I suggest, as part of my treatment protocol, that parents drastically reduce or even remove their child's access to screens (and even find alternative education environments or homeschool if necessary to do this), this greatly reduces or even resolves the anxiety and panic symptoms in young children, pre-teens, and teens. It is harder for young adults to escape EMFs when devices are necessary for social functioning and the exposure is high at college or work. Of course, sometimes, the parents are so addicted to their own devices that they struggle to "unplug" the family, including the kids, from exposure to EMFs and symptoms persist. Likewise, I know anecdotally how EMFs affect me and my family members, causing sudden, intense pressure "headaches" or a sensation of there being a pressured force around the head, as well as general restlessness or even akathisia and inability to concentrate, when the wifi is on or nearby. I have read interesting research by the Weston A. Price Foundation that suggests that most of the modern viral epidemics and seasonal illnesses that we suffer are correlated to the installation of EMF-emitting towers and infrastructure. It is possible to use and emit frequencies for communications that heal human health rather than harm it--Take a look at Nikola Tesla's devices, inventions, and blueprints that were confiscated by the government. Please go beyond only researching this issue and make the infrastructure and frequency changes NOW. It will be easier to do this in 2026 before 5G and more intense harmful frequencies are so entrenched into our society's functioning that it will seem impossible to disrupt it. Requests an independent review of limits and realistic long-term exposure, citing research on cancer and …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment as a consumer concerned about long-term exposure to wireless radiation from phones, Wi-Fi routers, cell towers, and other connected devices. I urge HHS to conduct a thorough, independent review of whether current exposure limits adequately protect public health. This review needs to consider those most heavily exposed and should examine potential effects beyond tissue heating, including evidence concerning cancer, reproductive health, and children’s development. Please prioritize research that reflects how people actually encounter wireless radiation: repeated exposure over many years, often from multiple sources and devices used close to the body. Assessments should consider signal strength, pulse patterns, duration, and combined exposure. Please consider Melnick and Moskowitz’s 2026 analysis of animal data, which argues that existing exposure limits may inadequately protect against cancer and reproductive harm (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12940-026-01288-6). I also ask HHS to evaluate Lai and Levitt’s review of exposure intensity, duration, and signal modulation (https://doi.org/10.1080/15368378.2022.2065683), and Scarato’s review of US regulatory gaps and proposed reforms (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2025.1677583). These papers warrant careful consideration alongside the broader evidence, including studies that have not found adverse effects. I ask HHS to: •Assess whether additional protections are needed for children, pregnant women, and other potentially vulnerable groups. •Support long-term research with safeguards against industry conflicts of interest. •Provide clear information about exposure and practical ways to reduce it, including wired alternatives in homes and schools. •Recommend updated standards wherever the evidence shows that existing limits are insufficient. Consumers should not have to navigate these questions alone. Please use this inquiry to advance transparent science, meaningful oversight, and public health protection.

Objects to advertising for nonexpert public input and requests expert consultation.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Spending money on Facebook ads soliciting "public input" from non-experts is wasteful at best, and dangerous at worst. The fact that you're seemingly incapable of performing basic research yourself makes me deeply concerned about your methods and intentions. Please consult some experts on this topic.

A retired nurse raises possible links between device use, atrial fibrillation and cancers and asks HHS to…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Secretary Kennedy, I am a retired RN and I have been observing the serious increase in A-Fib or Atrial Fibrilation. Many men put their cell phones in their shirt or coat pocket near their heart. Our heart has an electric component to function in correct rhythm. There is also an increase in prostrate and uterine cancer caused possibly by laptop use. The other noticeable increase is brain cancer which many of us working in health care believe could be caused by cell phone use without a head set. I hope this is helpful information. Thank you for making America healthy again! Sincerely, Gayle Horton

Reports cognitive impairment and marked sensitivity to wireless sources, compares symptoms with different…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Individual consumer / patient (age 59, Ashland City, Tennessee area) who has experienced symptoms associated with RF/EMF exposure from mobile phones, Wi-Fi, smart meters, and 5G. I am 59 years old. My cognitive decline began when I was 55. Prior to that I was sharp, owned and ran a complex and successful business on Maui, and had no difficulty learning or retaining information. Since onset I have experienced extreme brain fog, a severely compromised ability to perform basic problem-solving, and an extremely limited short-term memory that has made me virtually unemployable—I can no longer learn and retain new things. I have had an MRI and cognitive performance testing; the results indicated early-onset Alzheimer’s. These symptoms have improved dramatically in the last two years only after intensive healing protocols. This was not the case prior to roughly 2021. I have always been highly sensitive to EMF frequencies and Wi-Fi, and I am especially sensitive to 5G. Enabling 5G on my phones quickly makes me feel sick, and I can notice when I am near a 5G tower. For this reason I always disable 5G. I used an iPhone 7 for many years and upgraded to an iPhone SE (3rd generation) in 2024. With both of these phones I could feel the radiation. The longer I held either device, the more severe the sensation became. Both caused strong aching in my hand and arm; after prolonged use this often progressed to tingling and/or numbness. The symptoms were noticeable during ordinary use and worsened with longer holding times. In 2026 I upgraded to an iPhone Air. I have noticed a significant improvement: much less of the radiation sensation and substantially reduced hand and arm pain when holding the phone. I still notice some effect, but it is markedly milder than with the older models. I never hold any phone to my ear and always use speakerphone. Published SAR values (U.S. FCC, averaged over 1 gram of tissue, cellular transmission) for these models are approximately: iPhone 7: Head ~1.11–1.19 W/kg, Body ~1.14–1.19 W/kg (varies by specific model) iPhone SE (3rd generation): Head 1.20 W/kg, Body 1.20 W/kg iPhone Air: Head 1.19 W/kg, Body 1.19 W/kg (cellular-only) Despite the similar official peak SAR numbers, my real-world experience of reduced sensation and pain with the Air has been consistent. This suggests that other design factors (antenna placement, power management, or everyday transmission behavior) may matter for sensitive individuals. My wife and I both use our phones many hours a day; her job requires extensive phone use. To reduce overnight exposure I keep my phone at least two to three feet from my body while sleeping and sometimes place it in Airplane mode. We live in an apartment building. Our Wi-Fi router is located in the closet in my wife’s bedroom because that is the only place the cable enters the unit. She rarely can sleep past about 2 a.m. She then remains awake—though exhausted—from roughly 2 a.m. until 5 or 6 a.m., after which she falls back asleep until her alarm only out of pure exhaustion. The amount of make-up sleep is woefully insufficient. This chronic sleep disruption has been extremely hard on her overall health and has resulted in permanent bags under her eyes. I am concerned that prolonged close proximity to the router may be contributing. I am also very affected by smart meters. A bank of approximately a dozen smart meters (one for each apartment) is mounted on the exterior wall immediately outside my bedroom. The only mitigating factor is a walk-in closet between my bedroom and that exterior wall; the added distance makes the exposure more tolerable, but it remains noticeable. Combined with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, and other sources, these create a continuous “soup” of RF/EMF exposure that warrants further study. I lived on Maui, Hawaii, through early 2020. Maui was one of the last counties in the U.S. to receive a commercial 5G upgrade, and 5G was not present there during the time I lived on the island. After relocating, my cognitive problems began around 2021–2022. Given my extreme sensitivity to EMF/RF, the timing of these symptoms relative to increased exposure after the move is concerning to me, even though I cannot prove a direct causal link. I am grateful that Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and HHS have opened this Request for Information to examine potential health effects of EMF and RF frequencies, including real-world experiences of sensitive individuals and cumulative exposures. Further research into device design differences, smart meters, residential Wi-Fi, and vulnerable populations is needed.

Comment* EMF's are bad for humans. This has been abundantly clear for a couple of decades. Go to the following link - https://greenmedinfo.com/problematic-action/electromagnetic-field-harms - for over 1,000 papers detailing EMF harms, including oxidative stress (167 abstracts), DNA damage (82), male infertility (44), lipid peroxidation (43), cognitive decline (38), cancers (34), low sperm quality (33), brain cancer (28), headache (20), sleep disorders (15) and fatigue (14). I would also heavily recommend reading the book, 'The Invisible Rainbow' by Arthur Firstenberg. Many thanks.

Urges the federal government to rely on engineers and scientists rather than public opinions on technical…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
The Federal government needs to listen to the experts (the engineers and scientists that have studied and settled this issue for years). The notion that the general public has any worthwhile input to a highly technical matter is insane. Stop the madness.

Argues that government scientific departments should assess safety rather than solicit public opinions.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
You have dedicated resources and departments for this, why on god's green earth are you asking the public??? Did they all get laid off?? This is a scientific question, this issue is not opinion based!!!! YOU tell US what's safe, it's your JOB.
