Requests an independent review of real-world cumulative exposure and nonthermal outcomes, citing research…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment as a consumer concerned about long-term exposure to wireless radiation from phones, Wi-Fi routers, cell towers, and other connected devices. I urge HHS to conduct a thorough, independent review of whether current exposure limits adequately protect public health. This review needs to consider those most heavily exposed and should examine potential effects beyond tissue heating, including evidence concerning cancer, reproductive health, and children’s development. Please prioritize research that reflects how people actually encounter wireless radiation: repeated exposure over many years, often from multiple sources and devices used close to the body. Assessments should consider signal strength, pulse patterns, duration, and combined exposure. Please consider Melnick and Moskowitz’s 2026 analysis of animal data, which argues that existing exposure limits may inadequately protect against cancer and reproductive harm (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12940-026-01288-6). I also ask HHS to evaluate Lai and Levitt’s review of exposure intensity, duration, and signal modulation (https://doi.org/10.1080/15368378.2022.2065683), and Scarato’s review of US regulatory gaps and proposed reforms (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2025.1677583). These papers warrant careful consideration alongside the broader evidence, including studies that have not found adverse effects. I ask HHS to: •Assess whether additional protections are needed for children, pregnant women, and other potentially vulnerable groups. •Support long-term research with safeguards against industry conflicts of interest. •Provide clear information about exposure and practical ways to reduce it, including wired alternatives in homes and schools. •Recommend updated standards wherever the evidence shows that existing limits are insufficient. Consumers should not have to navigate these questions alone. Please use this inquiry to advance transparent science, meaningful oversight, and public health protection.

Reports numbness, pain and headaches associated with phone use, supports fiber and wired communications, …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I used to wear my phone in my right leg pants pocket, after a few years I developed a numb patch on my leg where I used to keep my phone. I feel more sensitive to the cell phone radiation now. That area starts to hurts a bit after only a short period if I put the phone there. I try to keep it on airplane mode as much as possible now to avoid unnecessary data transfer through my body tissue. If I hold the cell phone to my head for a call I start to develop a headache after a brief period, so I try to use it on speakerphone as much as possible or limit telephone call length. I don’t get these symptoms when using a corded headset. I look forward to broader implementation of fiber optic internet and a return to hard wired communications systems wherever practical. It can’t be healthy for society to be swimming through a sea of radio signals constantly. What are the long term effects on trees & wildlife? I would like to know. Thanks for doing this inquiry.

A former broadcast engineer describes reducing exposure through wired connections, criticizes FCC thermal…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
50 years ago, when I worked as a broadcast engineer on a high-powered TV transmitter, I was aware that the risk of a brain tumor in my profession was double that of the population. Ever since, I've made efforts to avoid EMF. I use Ethernet for my computer and streaming box, even though WiFi would be more convenient. It is difficult to find wired products, as the presumption by manufacturers is that the public wants wireless. The FCC has been completely useless when it comes to protecting the public health. Its refusal to reopen the silly 1996 thermal standard for human EMF protection was a pure industry give-away. There is a great deal of scientific evidence of the harms of EMF on living tissue. Dr. Martin Pall's discovery of the voltage-gated calcium channel was the first plausible mechanism presented for how biological damage occurs. Dr. Henry Lai at the University of Washington has done pathbreaking research. The Environmental Health Trust has been a leader in this field. I believe they will be submitting comments that I hereby support. Several aggregations of research: https://greenmedinfo.com/problematic-action/electromagnetic-field-harms https://www.jrseco.com/wp-content/uploads/2017-09-13-Scientist-Appeal-5G-Moratorium.pdf (Contains links to many references) https://www.emfanalysis.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/EMF-Effects-via-Voltage-Gated-Calcium-Channels-Dr-Martin-Pall.pdf https://bioinitiative.org/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19264461 Please focus literature reviews on studies completed by independent researchers. There is such a long history of industry-influenced studies in pharmaceuticals as well as in telecommunications that industry-sponsored research cannot be trusted.

Reports long-standing symptoms attributed to wireless exposure, use of a wired home and worsening conditi…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am so grateful this serious health threat is finally being brought to light. I have suffered from wireless radiation exposure symptoms for over 15 years. I have learned to adapt by having a hard-wired home and very limited use of a cell phone, kept in airplane mode 99% of the time. But the number of towers that are appearing in close proximity to my home has made things worse again for me.

Reports improved family sleep and cardiac symptoms after reducing wireless exposure and replacing smart m…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am responding as an individual consumer, a parent, and a concerned citizen. I first started to learn about the hazards of EMF's when I started to experience severe and symptomatic arrythmias in my mid-30's. Since then, I have recovered and improved my sleep immensely by turning off our WiFi when not in use, hardwiring devices like TV's, computers and laptops, and having our smartmeters (power and gas) replaced with analog meters. Everyone in our family noticed better sleep, my daughter's nose bleeds stopped, my son who was experiencing distressing symptoms from heart arrythmia improved, our family dog who used to have his crate on the wall near the smart meter began to grow hair. That was all the evidence we needed, but unfortunately, we have been unable to control the installation of wireless towers near our home and/or massive panel additions to existing panels. There has been the installation of 5G (all while adding to 2G, 3G and 4G) with 6G on the way. We also cannot control the "general electrosmog" from other neighbor's smart meters, WiFi, devices, appliances, etc, etc. We need the FCC to revisit the undeniable impact of EMF's on our cellular biology, disease factors, impact on nature and the environment, and more. Such studies stopped decades ago while the industry explodes unchecked and that is telling. We need ongoing health studies, industry transparency and regulation to protect residential areas and schools.

Describes migraines beginning during adolescence and later symptoms around wireless devices, severe restr…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing regarding the FCC’s response to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals’ remand concerning its decades-old radiofrequency (RF) radiation exposure guidelines. This issue matters to me personally because: I am a 34 year old woman whose life has been profoundly affected by a chronic, debilitating health condition, and who has spent nearly two decades searching for answers. My chronic migraines began when I was 15 years old. Around that time, a cell tower was constructed approximately 0.2 miles directly behind my family’s home. I cannot claim that this tower caused my illness, but the timing of these events has remained significant to me throughout my health journey. My symptoms quickly became so severe that I had to reduce my high school schedule. I woke up nearly every morning with debilitating migraines and vertigo, often unable to function. At one point, I missed more than 30 consecutive days of school. My family and I went from doctor to doctor, desperately searching for the underlying cause. I was prescribed countless medications in an effort to manage my symptoms, many of which came with adverse effects. My education suffered, my grades declined, and what should have been a formative, exciting period of my life became a daily struggle to get through the day. Rather than improving with age, my condition became progressively more severe. By age 26, I was experiencing symptoms that I associated with exposure to wireless devices and infrastructure. My arms would go numb while using my phone. I experienced stabbing pains in my head and stomach when people with cell phones came near me or when I was in areas near cell towers. As newer wireless technologies were introduced, I became increasingly concerned about the relationship between these exposures and my symptoms. My family went to extraordinary lengths to try to help me. We invested significant money in completely hardwiring our home and removing all wireless devices in an effort to reduce my potential exposure and find some measure of relief. This was not a casual lifestyle choice; it was a response to the debilitating reality of my daily life and our desperation to find answers. My family has had to make significant adjustments to our home and way of living because of the severity of my condition. The fact that my health concerns have required these kinds of sacrifices speaks to just how profoundly this has affected not only my life, but the lives of the people who love and support me. Also, when 5G technology was introduced in stadiums, attending sporting events became extraordinarily difficult for me because of the debilitating migraines I experienced. Travel became another challenge. Wi-Fi on airplanes, Bluetooth connections, and the wireless devices used by people around me became sources of concern as I struggled to manage my symptoms. Activities that most people take for granted; attending a game, boarding a plane, going into public spaces, or simply being around other people, became obstacles I had to weigh against the possibility of becoming severely ill. The consequences have extended far beyond physical pain. This condition has isolated me from experiences, relationships, opportunities, and the independence that most adults work toward building. I have struggled to maintain the health necessary to work consistently and support myself. Today, at 34 years old, I remain financially and physically dependent on my parents in ways I never imagined would define my adult life. I would give anything to have the freedom to attend a sporting event without fearing the consequences, travel without anticipating debilitating pain, work toward financial independence, and participate in everyday life without having to calculate the potential cost to my health. No one should have to spend nearly two decades fighting to reclaim a life they feel they have lost, while wondering whether an environmental exposure could be contributing to their suffering. People deserve answers. They deserve rigorous science, transparency, and a regulatory process willing to examine difficult questions. I urge the FCC to give meaningful consideration to the experiences and evidence before it and to fully address each of the issues identified by the court.

Describes electromagnetic hypersensitivity symptoms and proposed nonthermal mechanisms and urges independ…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
To the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS): I am submitting this public comment to express urgent concern regarding the biological and neurological health impacts associated with exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation, electromagnetic fields (EMFs), and dense wireless infrastructure, including 5G technology. I appreciate HHS taking this critical step to collect real-world user experiences and non-thermal scientific evidence to re-evaluate outdated exposure guidelines. 1. Real-World Symptomatic Evidence Across the country, an increasing number of individuals report debilitating physiological responses when exposed to continuous RF emissions from small cells, Wi-Fi, and cellular infrastructure. Common acute and chronic symptoms experienced by individuals affected by RF radiation exposure include: Severe Headaches and Migraines: Frequently coinciding with proximity to high-density wireless infrastructure or prolonged device usage. Persistent Tinnitus: A distinct ringing or buzzing in the ears that often correlates with localized RF exposure and disappears or diminishes in low-radiation environments. Nausea, Dizziness, and Vertigo: Disruption of vestibular function and equilibrium during exposure to high-frequency pulsed signals. Sleep Disturbances and Brain Fog: Chronic disruption of circadian rhythms, melatonin suppression, impaired concentration, and memory deficits. Cardiovascular Irregularities: Unexplained heart palpitations or racing pulse in high-EMF environments.  These symptoms—often referred to as Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS) or microwave syndrome—are not placebo or psychoactive effects. They represent observable biological distress in response to environmental stressors. 2. Regulatory Gaps: Non-Thermal Mechanisms and Pulsed Signals The current Federal Communications Commission (FCC) safety limits rely almost exclusively on guidelines established in 1996. These guidelines evaluate safety solely through the lens of short-term thermal (heating) impacts on body tissue. However, 5G and modern wireless technologies utilize complex beamforming, rapid signal pulsing, and high-density, multi-frequency exposures at levels far below those that cause tissue heating. Peer-reviewed biomedical literature demonstrates that non-thermal RF radiation can induce: Cellular oxidative stress and free radical production. Disruption of voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs) in cell membranes, affecting neural transmission. Permeability changes in the blood-brain barrier. DNA damage and cellular repair inhibition. Evaluating modern 5G safety without accounting for non-thermal biological impacts, signal pulsing, and cumulative lifetime exposure leaves the public unprotected.  3. Protecting Vulnerable Populations Federal guidelines currently fail to account for cumulative, chronic exposure across sensitive populations, including children, pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with preexisting neurological or cardiovascular conditions. Children are particularly susceptible due to thinner skulls, higher tissue conductivity, and a longer lifetime of expected exposure.  4. Action Requested from HHS I respectfully request that HHS take the following actions: 1. Acknowledge Biological Non-Thermal Effects: Formalize health guidance recognizing that low-intensity RF radiation causes non-thermal biological harm below current thermal thresholds. 2. Establish Precautionary Guidelines: Recommend updated, health-based exposure limits to the FCC that account for real-world cumulative exposure, 5G signal characteristics, and vulnerable sub-populations.  3. Fund Independent Health Research: Allocate federal funding for independent toxicology and epidemiological studies regarding long-term exposure to millimeter-wave and sub-6 GHz radiation. 4. Issue Public Health Education: Provide clear public guidance on practical exposure reduction strategies (e.g., hardwired connections, safe distance guidelines) for homes, workplaces, and schools.  Thank you for reviewing this public comment and prioritizing public health and biological safety.

Attributes fatigue and palpitations to surrounding Wi-Fi and towers and favors fiber-optic service.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I have been affected by EMF's for years, especially radiofrequency and Cell Towers. I have noticed it more as I get older. Since I live in an apartment, I know I have the exposure from every wi-fi around me. Across the street from me, there are cell phone towers on top of the office building. I have been treated by different holistic practitioners over the years. I know I have a lot of fatigue associated with this, heart palpitations and various other symptoms. At least I know where my health problems come from. Most people do not. Why have they not done fiber optics. That is suppose to be a much safer way.. Thank you for looking further into this.

Reports tinnitus and disorientation attributed to wireless exposure, relief in remote areas, and concerns…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am exposed to 5G, WiFi, LAN, my neighbors in a rural area. I have a spinal pain stimulator and a DEXCOM7 medical device, internet printer, smart phones, tire pressure monitors, internet devices. Additional LEDs (which is been returned to tungsten and candle light, as the digitalization interfere Also) When I had lower dose exposure of 2.4 and 4G I had much less symptoms. Before, but extremely worse since 5G - has caused massive ringing in my ears. I have relocated myself into the country and woods, the symptoms go away while out in remote locations. These sounds are disorienting, aggravating, and get greatly worse within the city. Further, these things are dangerous. We have tore down the infrastructure of analog phones, robo calls, had become so annoying, most people took their phone out of their home. you cannot make a payphone call, because of contact lists, most people don't know basic phone numbers for help. Underground phone wires in sealed lines, allowed phone access to emergancy help-in hurricanes, tornados, minor floods, lighting, etc. In emergancy, specific locations in house and areas... with smart phones, people do not want to led help. There are no address books so you cannot find people. Less and less can you find places of business like hospitals, hardware stores, mechanics. Algorhythems of advertisers force out smaller businesses where are phone books allowed page size, font and bolding, but all paying for phone was listed. Not being able to contact businesses is just as unhealthy, externally as the radio frquenceies are internally. Addition RF signals and GPS, route you on interstates and bypass smaller business and routes
