Reports wireless sensitivity, sleep and cognitive problems near towers, and restrictions on work and trav…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public I have personally been negatively affected by wireless towers in my health. I cannot get a proper sleep cycle when I am within 200 yards of a tower - it has also affected my cognitive abilities - I am unable to focus and do my work and have experienced sickness from said towers as well. Because of my sensitivity I am unable to travel to certain areas and have to be careful where I roam. This is unacceptable and deeply concerns me for all in my community that experience this. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Reports sensitivity and intense buzzing sensations during use of a new 5G internet device, describes reli…

To begin, let me say that have never written down dates or took notes on my symptoms. Having said that, all I can do is guesstimate time frames and provide you with the symptoms I was experiencing and the event that actually made me realize it WAS cell tower and EMF exposure. I started to sense that I was reacting to EMF’s a couple of years ago. I couldn’t put my finger on it, and it’s difficult to explain the “feeling” I experienced, other than to say it felt like a “buzzing” sensation in my head and chest. I had nothing to compare it to - but it was a feeling I’d never felt before. We lived in Florida at the time, but would experience the same feelings while visiting our daughter in Michigan. It wasn’t until about a year and a half ago, while still living in Florida, that I was 100% able to associate the feeling/reaction with EMF’s and cell tower energy. Just about the time I was going to approach my doctor with my symptoms, a very intense reaction occurred after purchasing a 5G internet box from Verizon. I came home, installed it and immediately noticed the same, only more severe, “buzzing” reaction that I’d been noticing prior to that day. It was so intense that I had to leave the house and walk a good distance away before the feeling lessened. As I began to walk back into the house, the sensation returned. It was overwhelming! The only connection I could make was the new internet box - so I quickly went over and unplugged it from the wall. The buzzing subsided greatly - although was still there to a small degree. I got on the phone with Verizon and was told by the representative, after looking up my address, that there WAS NO CELL TOWER NEARBY which is why I was probably feeling that; the box was struggling to put out it’s feelers for a cell tower. She told me that the salesman should have never sold me the box without checking my location first. I took it back to the store, and in front of other customers and the clerk, I explained what had happened. It was a horrible experience. I was angry. But, on the other hand, it was also helpful; it allowed me to make the connection to my personal sensitivity to cell towers and EMF’s. Not all people experience this. But, for those of us that do, it’s horrible and unsettling. We need to address this negative exposure before we move ahead to 6G, 7G, and up. This is real and it’s dangerous to overall health.

Reports sensitivity to smart meters and wireless sources, improvement after moving to the country, and re…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing to underline the dangers that lurk behind all types of electromagnetic fields. Today we are living in a soup of radiation that is invisible, but potentially harmful. I cannot quote any studies to provide evidence, but I do know that many have been carried out. I myself am proof of the harmful effect that EMF´s can have as I am very sensitive to the radiation of Smart water meters, Wifi signals, bluetooth, cell towers, etc... After suffering from headaches and lack of sleep, I moved out to the country away from cell towers, the WIFI of neighbors and many other sources of 24/7 radiation. My health has greatly improved. I would beg you to study the literature and case studies of sensitive people like me who, like the canaries in a mine, are warning us to pay attention, and do something before everyone´s health is undermined. I thank you for your attention to this important matter, Mary Beth Hitt

Reports diagnosed EHS, multiple symptoms and loss of career, housing and social opportunities after workp…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing as a person who is adversely affected to the point of being disabled by radio-frequency (RF) radiation. I am a 54-year-old woman from the UK. I was diagnosed with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) in 2009 after suffering unexplained and debilitating symptoms over several years. My symptoms suddenly became extremely severe when Wi-Fi was installed in my university workplace in 2008. (I discovered that Wi-Fi was present only after the onset of far worse symptoms, and it transpired that I had been working immediately above Wi-Fi routers recently fixed to the ceiling of the room below me; thus, an informal and unintended ‘blind’ test took place.) My symptoms include: headaches and head pressure, facial burning and redness, chest pains and chest oppression, palpitations, feelings of ‘fight-or-flight’, digestive problems, stomach pains, nausea, vertigo, ear pain and ringing ears, urinary urgency, problems concentrating and focusing, memory loss, aphasia, exhaustion, insomnia. My symptoms fluctuate in severity depending on the duration and intensity of exposure. They resolve in an area with little or no RF pollution. I feel, however, that my cognition has been irreparably damaged to some degree. I am debilitated and disabled by all sources of wireless radiation: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DECT cordless phones, smart meters and ‘smart’ devices, cellphones and cell towers, etc. I have paid a very high personal price because of my EHS and have lost my career as a university lecturer, my home, my ability to earn a living, the chance of a family, my social life – not to mention my basic human rights. Unless things change, the future looks very bleak indeed for me and for others who are similarly affected. Given the lack of recognition of EHS and its cause, I currently have no access to redress for the harm and loss inflicted on me by the proliferation and ubiquity of wireless technologies and the concomitant RF radiation. I welcome the Department of Health and Human Service’s call for evidence about health harms from RF radiation because recognition of these harms is well overdue. Rather than provide you with a long list of studies on EHS, I here refer to four that I find instructive: Belpomme D, Irigaray P. I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned parent and professional who is seeing the impact of this radiation with clients. More and more people are becoming sensitive to this exposure and for those who aren’t sensitive and don’t feel it, their bodies do, which leads to unexplained health issues. As someone who does everything in her power to counteract it (as a profession) 5G is WAY too potent, leading to very expensive fixes that won’t work when 6G is thrown at us. All humans and animals are being affected. This needs to end. Kids are falling asleep with their devices in beds and the truth of EMF radiation needs to be discussed publicly. A tower, a mile away, is not only affecting my fascia but my health. Which requires even more work on my part to get my body to somewhat neutral, while healing remains much further away because it’s everywhere.

Reports device-related burning and head pressure, home remediation and gradual improvement, and discusses…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I bought a new Apple laptop and opened it up and turned it on and felt electricity currents go thru my whole body and then felt like my life force was draining out of me. I shut it down. From that point on I began to get a burning sensation thru the top of my head and pressure squeezing the skull when on my iPhone talking on speaker or in certain stores. The emf from towers hitting our dish made me so ill I began to sleep on my bathroom limestone floor for protection from the rays hitting the thru the window. We remediated our whole home and moved dishes off the house. I did numerous detox programs and all the right stuff. It’s been five years and I’m much better mostly due regulating my fight or flight reactions. This fear h on workers in an electric plant and its numerous effects reveal a succinct description of what I knew. Excessive oxidative stress is proposed as the main mechanism through which EHS occurs [12]. It is suggested that an environmental stressor such as non-ionizing EMF creates a local mild inflammatory response that leads to histamine release by cells in the brain [Z]. Histamine, in turn, induces oxidative stress in the brain, which, upon second exposure to the EMF stressor, disturbs the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and creates an augmented inflammatory response responsible for the symptoms observed [7]. Thank you

Reports electrical sensitivity following a concussion and CT scan, describes career and daily-life restri…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient and parent. I first became aware of the fact that EMFs, RF, and wireless radiation in our environment affect human health and well-being when I underwent a CT scan after sustaining a concussion. While I have had countless x-rays, sonagrams, and EKGs prior to this procedure, I noticed a strange feeling after I emerged out of the CT scanner--the vibrations in the scanner leaving residual echoes in my body that were unfamiliar to me. That was only the beginning of my initiation into the world of the electrically sensitive. Following this procedure, I quickly witnessed a barrage of symptoms that I still occasionally experience to this day-- twelve years later. I became aurally sensitive to Bluetooth and WiFi frequency to the point where I developed migraines, chest tightness, mental agitation, and myoclonus, or pulsatile tinnitus. While some might wonder if my electrical sensitivity is the result of concussion, there has not been enough unbiased review of how electromagnetic exposures can contribute to and lead to bodily sensitivities and disease to rule these out in the final assessment of how I got here. We cannot rule out at this time, or when my sensitivities surfaced, many likely other factors which may have contributed to the onset of my electrical sensitivity including the magnetism from the CT scan, additive synthesis of my overall EMF exposures at the time, and Mercury in the amalgam fillings I had in my mouth...in other words, the many singular, but potentially interactive, variables that can trigger a person's exposure tipping point at any moment in time. The personal toll my electrical sensitivity has taken on my life has been considerable. It cut short a promising career in technology, and in my work life in general, and affected every choice I make about my travel, social interactions, personal tech use, and daily and living arrangements. Sadly, I have also watched the effects increasing EMFs, RF, and wireless radiation have had on my child, my child's friends, the classroom, and our local school district. Minute-to-minute EMF, RF and wireless radiation exposure and technology addiction have had a harmful affect on the physical and mental health, academic achievement, and privacy of my child; all claims increasingly documented by scientific findings these last several years. I stand with Americans affected by wireless radiation, and believe HHS should continue to raise questions and fund research on the effects of EMFs, RF, and wireless radiation on human biology and psychology. We cannot afford as a society and species to continue expanding and unleashing untested EMF, RF and wireless radiation techologies in service to all but the American public. We deserve to live freely and safely, and need help from the HHS to do that in this instance.

Reports hypersensitivity to wireless and electromagnetic fields, difficulty with fluorescent and LED ligh…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am very hypersensitive to Radiofrequency Radiation, all wireless radiation and to electromagnetic fields. Long tube fluorescent lights are the worst and LEDs and curly fluorescents can be tolerated a bit longer. The closer the lighting is the harder it is on me. The old incandescents are the best for me. Cellphone are horrible. I can't use them or be around them. Even if they are on airplane mode they make me ill. I have a landline telephone and get ill even if I'm using that for a long time or if the line is not very clear and static free. My computer is ethernet and I need to limit my time using it as well. This has all impacted my life severely.

Reports electromagnetic hypersensitivity after mast exposure, multiple symptoms, costly home shielding an…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I became electro hypersensitive after being over exposed to a mobile phone mast while on holiday back in 2017. Since then I have become steadily worse with regards to the symptoms I experience when exposed to anything emitting non ionizing radiation. I become dizzy with headaches, tinnitus, numbness in my face, a heavy weight on my body, extreme fatigue, chest pain and breathlessness. I cannot use a mobile phone for calls and just holding my old basic mobile (with no wifi) can cause shocks and numbness in my hands. Despite my internet router having wifi turned off and in a sliver bloc YFry bag I have to limit my time online. I also place silver bloc material over my laptop. I sleep in a silver bloc canopy which is grounded as my flat is surrounded by masts. One 4G monopole (80 meters from my flat) and two 5G monopole's one 100 meters the other 50 meters. My flat is in a line of sight. I had to get a financial loan to shield my living room with EMF shielding paint so I could use it. Every day I am affected as masts are everywhere. Even visiting friends with wifi or going into a cafe or library is difficult and at times impossible. I fear for my future and worry I will become worse the more this technology is rolled out. My home phone is now very difficult to use since I was forced onto digital voice. I can only use it on speaker in a YFry bag and only for around 10 minutes. I miss chatting with my family and friends. I live in Scotland and I have traveled a great deal in my country but there are few places if any to escape from this. The odd time I have found somewhere with no mobile phone signal or masts in sight my tinnitus has reduced significantly as well as my other symptoms.
