The commenter proposes heavy-metal-related sensitivity, recommends shielding, wired school phones and bur…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I presume this book has already been recommended, "The Body Electric" However I would like to add a couple personal ideas: In the past, the stereotype of "Tin Foil Hat" has been associated with conspiracy theory. I have wondered, what would make these particular people sensitive to EMF enough to wear tin foil? My thought is that they could have higher heavy metal content in the body that might act like an antenna. This could be from vaccines or from environmental exposures. If mercury ultimately ends up in the brain stem, it would make the tin foil hat even more applicable in blocking signal to the otherwise minimal heavy metals in the body. Even braces have been joked as being able to pick up radio waves. Another idea, I think for this and many other reasons, in home saunas should be subsidized for every American to build with HSA funds. This would also strongly help combat plastics in the body thanks to the personal studies by Bryan Johnson. Another idea, I think every school should be made into a complete Faraday cage, potentially with lead paint under siding to prevent exposure, so that students and teachers are made to be present in class, as well as cut exposure to EMFs in school. I believe it can be argued that it does not serve our children to have in their pockets the most distracting thing of all time during class. I believe in the event of emergencies, old fashioned wired telephones should work just fine. A small addition to that is standardize the books please, there's no reason college education requires buying new editions on old information. Standardize academics and remove extra curriculars, make those into community classes without pay. The classic books need to be in schools again. Wiring in walls could be made into a grid to power the building as well as cage external EMFs with enough grounding, I say this as an aerospace electrician, however every building would need special engineering, and doing so would cost a ton more copper, but could be measured inside of each room with a sensitive RF meter or even an oscilloscope for measuring the wavelengths exposed to, as in The Body Electric, specific frequencies and pulsing matters as well. I may even just recommend the final chapter of the book. Maybe we can control for Russian standards in home/school/work areas. I think home standards could include the use of piling earth alongside sturdy walls as a form of EMF shielding, similar to living underground. This could provide safe EMF exposure at home without the high demand for conductive metal for a faraday cage or lead paint for a complete blockage of EMF fields. I think studies should be done in the wearing of polyester, which generates static electric charge stored on the body. If my instinct is correct, this is bad for the body, as it makes me feel bad until I am grounded by ESD shock. If this is true, we should move towards natural materials. I think trade for more agriculture could improve, I know Ireland has had to throw away excess wool or use it to nourish farm soil rather than sell it. My final suggestion is if we upgrade the grid to provide nuclear power is that we bury the power lines. Europe does this, and I think especially in tornado alley this is not only safer but the EMF exposure is automatically grounded by being under the earth, plus it should be easier to work on. Thank you for reading. I suspect I negatively impacted my health working in electrical testing, operating DITMCO machines for nearly a decade. I wonder if these electric cars will have high EMF production. I also wonder if we should incorporate jewelry that acts as a capacitor so that we never store an ESD charge in our bodies. The book The Body Electric is required reading on this subject. Please, read it.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a very concerned member of the public. Whole I am not aware of how wireless radiation has affected me, I now people who have been and are adversely affected by it, as people have different sensitivities. But while I or others are not consciously aware of the effects of wireless radiation, I know that its impact on human, flora and fauna health is present. Those who actually feel its negative effects suffer in the here and now, while others do over a longer period because the exposure is constant and ultimately pernicious. HHS stands for "Human and Health Services"; since wireless radiation damages human health, HHS should be on top of this radiation right now and forever, protecting health instead of ignoring it and protecting "special interests" and those who promote irresponsible wireless radiation exposure. So I strongly support HHS taking an active role in sincerely examining the health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. These are very real effects, not alleged or potential effects. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being adversely impacted should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
My son had debilitating migraines when he was young. He would hold his head and rock back and forth in so much pain. Someone suggested we turn off our Wifi. I said that's crazy, how can we live without Wifi? We finally tried it as we were desperate. We hard wired everything and unplugged our router. He has never had another migraine!! That was 10 years ago! Many times when I stay in a hotel (with intense wifi and EMFs) I get a migraine. EMF sensitivity is real! Some of us feel the effects physically, but we are ALL affected. Most just don't realize it!!

Requests independent reassessment of exposure limits, realistic device testing, clear disclosures and res…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Re: Electromagnetic Fields, RF Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure Question 2 — Perspective I am commenting as an EMF affected individual and writer who has covered wireless radiation and public-health concerns for years. This reply offers policy recommendations informed by government reports and my review of this subject, rather than original research or clinical findings. I welcome HHS’s examination of RF/EMF exposure. The public deserves a transparent assessment of whether existing protections adequately address today’s exposure conditions, particularly for children and other potentially vulnerable populations. Questions 5–6 and 12 — Exposure standards and health evidence I urge HHS to independently reassess the scientific basis of current federal exposure limits. Protection against established heating effects should not substitute for evaluating potential effects from long-term exposure at lower intensities. Please critically examine research concerning oxidative stress, DNA damage, reproductive and developmental outcomes, neurological function, and sleep. Reviews should distinguish association from causation, and experimental exposures from realistic human exposures. Where findings conflict, HHS should explain how exposure measurement, temperature control, sample size, study design, replication, and funding sources affect its conclusions. Uncertainty should be acknowledged rather than presented as proof of safety. Questions 8–9 and 13 — Real-world exposure and disclosure Exposure assessment should reflect how people actually use technology: phones against the body, wearables used for extended periods, and overlapping emissions from devices and infrastructure. HHS should evaluate how duration, proximity, frequency, modulation, and simultaneous transmissions affect exposure and the interpretation of health studies. In 2012, GAO recommended reassessing the FCC’s exposure limit and phone-testing requirements, particularly for use against the body. Its report page currently lists both recommendations as closed without implementation: https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-12-771 HHS should work with the FCC to address these concerns and improve consumer disclosures. Any separation distances or operating conditions required for compliance should be prominent and understandable, rather than buried in technical instructions. Question 11 — Children and potentially vulnerable populations Children’s developing bodies and the possibility of lifelong exposure beginning early in life warrant specific assessment. HHS should explain whether existing safety margins adequately address children, pregnancy, and other potentially vulnerable groups. Research should include long-term developmental outcomes and exposure patterns in schools and childcare settings. People reporting electromagnetic sensitivity should receive respectful clinical evaluation and rigorous investigation of their symptoms, possible contributing factors, and effective management approaches, without presuming an established cause. Questions 14–15 — Environmental and infrastructure considerations HHS should coordinate with environmental agencies to assess potential effects on wildlife, pollinators, plants, and livestock. Human exposure limits should not automatically be assumed to protect other species. Infrastructure assessment should incorporate measured exposure and cumulative neighborhood conditions. Distance from an antenna alone is an incomplete measure; transmission characteristics, direction, terrain, and other sources also matter. Questions 16–18 — Research priorities and practical action I urge HHS to fund independent, reproducible research on chronic exposure, childhood development, reproductive health, neurological outcomes, and plausible biological mechanisms. Priorities should include longitudinal studies with better exposure measurement and replication of important findings. Research funding and advisory processes should disclose relevant industry relationships and protect scientific independence. HHS should publish its review methods, evidence assessments, research priorities, and a timetable for public updates. While research continues, HHS should evaluate and communicate practical, low-cost ways to reduce unnecessary exposure, including wired connections where feasible, greater distance from transmitting devices, disabling unused wireless functions, and the use of scientifically researched EMF protection devices like Blushield. Guidance should explain the evidence and remaining uncertainties. Please use this RFI to produce meaningful research commitments, clear public guidance, and recommendations to strengthen federal protections wherever warranted. Families should be able to benefit from communications technology while receiving an honest account of what is established, what remains uncertain, and how avoidable exposure can be reduced.

Public Comment on RF/EMF Exposure and Human Health Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0397 Dear HHS Review Team: Please accept my attached public comment, Strengthening Federal Research, Regulation and Public Health Guidance on Radiofrequency Exposure, submitted in response to the Department's Request for Information published September 21, 2026 (91 FR 59792). My submission examines scientific evidence concerning radiofrequency radiation and human health, including animal carcinogenicity findings, human epidemiology, reproductive and neurological effects, children's exposures, wireless infrastructure, and emerging 5G and 6G technologies. The comment identifies significant unresolved scientific questions and proposes seven concrete federal actions to strengthen independent research, reassess existing exposure standards, improve public health guidance, and protect potentially vulnerable populations. I respectfully urge HHS to give these findings and recommendations careful consideration and to use this opportunity to establish a more rigorous, transparent, and precautionary approach to RF exposure and public health. Thank you for inviting public participation in this important process. Sincerely, Ethan Augreen [See attached file]

Reports neurological and cardiac symptoms associated with home and hospital wireless exposures, describes…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
In 2012 I noticed symptoms related to emf exposure. Sleeping disorders, heart palpitations, confusion, memory loss. My son, 5 years old at the time, started to act different, running around, making noise and stopped talking. Later on he got diagnosed with autism. My symptoms has now exacerbated with dizziness, headaches, breathing difficulties, muscle aches that comes and goes without any connection to activity. My house is 200 meters from a cellphone tower, I noticed it 15 years ago. I worked in a huge hospital for 20 years and was exposed to Wi-Fi and wireless computers and other equipment plus other peoples cellphones. As people complained about bad connection the hospital put up more and more Wi-Fi range extenders. I stopped working there 5 years ago, I am better but as soon as I go into the city, travel by public transport or go to a sports arena or something similar my symptoms increase and I can’t manage to do anything in the coming days. If I have cold coming on, my emf symptoms multiply tenfold.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am someone who is sensitive to EMF, experiencing tinnitus, headaches, brain fog, and fatigue. It is incredibly frustrating that this is not more widely understood, as I know many people who suffer and it is getting harder & harder to find spaces that provide relief. It is unfathomable that we are already moving into 6G without a scientific understanding of the health effects of all the previous G's. Our children are experiencing neurological & mental health issues at alarming & increasing levels. To not investigate how the effects of the ubiquitous EMF could be contributing to this is gross neglect of a huge public health concern. Please do the right thing & conduct rigorous research that cannot be tainted by stakeholders in wireless communication before allowing it to go any further. Thank you.
