The commenter reports tinnitus, tingling and fatigue after nearby 5G and digital-meter installation, note…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Hello! Ever since the 5G went live and a new cell tower went up near our house, I have had ringing in my ears and continuous ringing in my left ear along with a tingling feeling within my body. I’ve been to an ENT several times and they just diagnose it as sensory tinnitus. The faint tingling feeling, I’ve been to a chiropractor thinking they could help since my other docs have ignored the feeling I have, but the faint tingling continues. Too coincidental since the 5G going live and these issues happening at approximately the same time. And when dominion energy decided to change out our meter to a digital meter without our approval and notification that it was changed out, I started having a hard time with feeling tired and heaviness within the body when waking even after sleeping 7-9 hours, which continues to this day. The meter is close by on the outside wall of our garage, which is near where we sleep on the 2nd floor. Every time we are away, the tiredness and tingling subside quite a bit, but continues again once home after a day or 2. As the years go by the continuous buzzing/ringing in ear seems to get louder. I feel the difference in myself since 5G and the digital meters being installed. Some people are more sensitive to this than others. We should have had a choice to keep our old meter, which was working just fine. These are just a few things I’ve noticed for myself and I am sure there are many others who are sensitive to it as well. Thank you for taking the time to listen to some of us and hopefully there can be some recognition that it does bother many and many that don’t realize it as of now. Sadly, we sound crazy to others who don’t listen and think about what actually can be happening. Thank you again!

The commenter reports EMF sensitivity, sleeping in remote areas and neurological symptoms, proposes mitoc…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I became EMF sensitive in 2015 while living in San Francisco. I drastically had to adjust my life, and now must sleep/live in the woods to maintain my health. As long as I sleep in low/no EMF environments, my body is able to recharge enough to still occasionally work and visit in cities. However, sleeping in EMF hot zones, surrounded by Wi-Fi, towers, routers, etc, drains my mitochondria and inhibits the body’s nightly rejuvenation, leading to me feeling completely drained, exhausted, and suffering chronic fatigue, digestive problems, migraines, brain fog, and symptoms of fibromyalgia. I’ve studied this subject for over a decade, and highly recommended Arthur Firstenberg’s book “The History of Electricity,” for an educational deep dive, and the documentary “Beings of Frequency.” Our biology is not solely regulated by chemical processes- light (including non visible) is a vital component, and the synthetic non-native EMF light depletes our cellular health drastically. Honestly this elephant in the room in the underlying catalyst for so many chronic health conditions in the US. Please stop endorsing more 5g, Starlinks, wireless communications, SMART everything. It’s literally killing people’s health, and sometimes their lives. Please preserve off grid, virgin spaces, and please invest in EMF safe places, towns, housing, etc. As a refugee, we need safe places to exist.

The commenter reports sleep, HRV and family changes associated with wireless exposure and reduction, and …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am responding to HHS's request for personal experiences with RF/EMF exposure and for input on disclosure, exposure standards, and research priorities. I am writing as an individual and as a husband and father in a household of five, including three children. I am a Navy veteran who served as a Hospital Corpsman, and I now work in technology, so I am comfortable with the devices involved and with tracking my own physiological data. What follows is based on personal experience and my own wearable data, not on clinical research. I first noticed a problem in 2008 while using a wireless gaming controller. Gaming sessions consistently left me feeling unwell, and only after that pattern repeated did I search online and find that other people were describing similar reactions. The symptom came before I had any idea that others were reporting it. I likely had been affected before that point without recognizing the cause. The effect I experience is a stressed, overactivated nervous system. I track this with an Oura ring. With Wi-Fi present, my deep sleep drops from more than an hour per night to about 30 minutes, and my average heart rate variability falls steadily from 50 to 60 ms to the high 20s or low 30s. When this stress persists, I get sick more often and my mood becomes less stable. In heavy Wi-Fi environments my sleep is affected that same night, and I often become dizzy to the point of needing to lie down. In 2008, we removed Wi-Fi from our home. I felt noticeably calmer almost immediately. Over the following [weeks/months], my children argued and fought much less, and my wife's frequent migraines stopped and her mood stabilized. Removing the router was not enough. Many household products contain Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radios that transmit continuously or keep searching for a connection even when they are not in use, and most give the owner no way to turn them off. To get our home to a low exposure level, I had to physically remove the wireless chips from our television, garage door opener, gaming consoles, and remote controls. Most households could not do this, and most people would not know these devices are transmitting at all. Based on that experience, I would ask HHS to consider two things. First, products should clearly disclose every radio they contain, whether it transmits while idle, and how often. Second, consumers should have a reliable way to disable those radios, ideally a physical switch, without losing the product's basic function. Right now the only way to opt out is to take the device apart, which is not a realistic choice for families, schools, or people who believe they are sensitive. I would also ask HHS to look closely at cumulative exposure in suburban areas. In communities near me such as Fishers, Indiana, 5G infrastructure has been deployed densely into residential neighborhoods. Residents now live with that infrastructure on top of their neighbors' Wi-Fi routers and the phones, tablets, and computers in every home. No single source may exceed federal limits, but no one is measuring or accounting for the total. Because federal law prevents local governments from denying these installations on health grounds when they meet FCC limits, residents have no local recourse. The federal standard is effectively the only protection they have. Other countries have chosen more precautionary limits. Switzerland and Italy, for example, set much lower limits in places where people live, sleep, and spend long periods of time, including homes and schools. HHS should examine these approaches and the evidence behind them as it advises on whether current U.S. limits, which date to 1996, are adequate. Finally, I would encourage research into whether biological effects depend on how signals are transmitted, not only on how much power they carry. Modern wireless signals are pulsed and modulated in complex ways. If certain modulation or pulsing patterns turn out to matter more than others, that knowledge could guide the development of wireless protocols that are more compatible with human biology while still delivering the connectivity people rely on. Wearable HRV and sleep trackers could offer a low-cost way to study this in real-world settings, especially where participants do not know whether a transmitter is on. In short, I ask HHS to support clear disclosure of every radio in consumer products along with a reliable way to turn them off, to evaluate cumulative neighborhood exposure rather than single sources, to review the more protective limits used in countries like Switzerland and Italy, and to fund research on whether modulation and pulsing patterns drive biological effects.

FCC writing about SAR values. https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/specific-absorption-rate-sar-cell-phones-what-it-means-you "Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) For Cell Phones: What It Means For You" French SAR website ANFR. https://www.anfr.fr/en/maitriser/radio-equipment/specific-absorption-rate-sar/sar-measurement-results "To better inform consumers, ANFR continuously publishing the results of SAR measurements performed since 2012 in open data format as part of its mission to control public exposure to electromagnetic waves and monitor the market. Three types of checks are out performed to assess device compliance “head SAR” measurement covering the use of the phone against the ear, during voice calls. They show that, except for one phone, these SAR values have always been compliant with applicable regulations, i.e. less than 2 W/kg. “trunk SAR” measurements are used whene when the phone is carried near the body, for example in a jacket or a clothes pocket or a bag. The maximum value defined by regulation is 2W/kg but this value is associated with a separation distance between the device under test and the body. For mobile phones, the "trunk" SAR is assessed at a distance of 5 mm for all 6 faces.. “limb SAR" measurements , which correspond to the phone being held against a limb, for example, worn in an armband or in a trouser pocket and held in the hand. The maximum value defined by regulation is 4W/kg. For mobile phones, the "limb" SAR is assessed in contact for all 6 faces. ANFR started checking the “trunk SAR” in 2012, considering the new uses for phones relating to the recommendations to use earphones and relating to data exchange (mobile internet, MMS, etc.). At the time when the European R&TTE directive 1999/5/EC was applicableallowed manufacturers to choose a separation distance of between 0 and 25 mm to measure trunk SAR. This variable distance, was not always mentioned in documentation to users, making control more complex. The preparation of a new directive was opened, giving the possibility of to update the standard It was in this context that between 2012 and 2016, the ANFR performed additional trunk SAR measurements using different distances than the one recommended by manufacturers. These distances could not be used to assess the compliance of devices as they went further than the standard requirements. Therefore, France presented these results to member states and as well as the European Commission as consequence the European regulations for separation distance have been amended. All devices sold in France for which the certification file is later than 25 April 2016, were then assessed for the trunk SAR at a distance that cannot exceed 5 mm. This new standard is easier to check while better reflecting current mobile phone uses. Until July 2020, the regulations imposed SAR compliance measurement to be performed on 'head' and “trunk” . Following the entry into force on 1 July 2020 of the Order of 15 November 2019 on "the display of the specific absorption rate of radio equipment and consumer information", the "limb" SAR is now also required for compliance assessment. The ANFR regularly publishes all new SAR measurements and reports it carries out to guarantee the compliance of radio-electric terminals put on the French market. To find out more: SAR measurements on our data.anfr.fr web site The commented report: as reading these reports can prove complex, this commented and explained version is made available to web users to facilitate its understanding. Quick access Public markets Our other sites Recevoirlatnt.fr Cartoradio.fr Data.anfr.fr Hackathon.anfr.fr Conference.anfr.fr" I kept the other sites in, as they seem EMF related. At least the Data.anfr.fr seems to be. Both the US and Europe has SAR data. But maybe the SAR could be lower or we should use cables more. It is possible to connect your phone to an ethernet cable. With adapters. If every office had ethernet connected phones that would reduce EMF.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am contacting you on behalf of my young adult son and myself. We are now fighting, doing everything we can do to survive. We are almost never without constant ringing, buzzing, and high-pitched frequencies with no escape. WHY must I spend all this money and time trying to implement strategies and products to save us from our own state and federal government's ABSENCE of oversight and protection? How many nights can we go without quality sleep before it literally kills us? Last week, I felt a specific burst of frequencies in my head. In that moment, I thought someone was going to kill me. I have an UNREQUESTED smart meter on my home. I have put a copper ring around it and put what is advertised as an EMF blocking cage around it. I'm unplugging things all over my home. I'm paying exhorbitant costs for utilities, so I'm also paying for this torture. WHERE are you? And where are all the government agencies whose job it is to protect us? Why weren't safety evaluations conducted before all this rolled out? And why, even given how many are so incredibly negatively impacted by this, are you all still doing nothing to help us? Who can we even talk to without people thinking we're crazy? There are so many more implications connected to this. For example, the frequencies are attacking me almost without reprieve all day and all night. I sleep with an EMF blocking hat on, with ear plugs, using a grounding sheet and pillow case. But nothing is preventing the constant high pitch. So over night, I am now clenching my jaw so hard, that even with a mouth guard on, my entire jaw hurts all day, and I now have headaches, which have never been a problem. I also clench my body and push myself into the bed at night, so I wake up sore all over. My son hasn't been sleeping well in probably over a year. His entire personality has changed, to where he no longer wants to leave his apartment. It's impacted his eating and his temperament. I want to know if you're part of the power structure that is striving to kill us. That's what's happening, right? I mean, what are we supposed to think? If not, I want to know what you're going to do to help us? All these things in our air, food, water, soil, animals... How have we become a country that is allowing her citizenry to be culled, lied to, and constantly tormented? PLEASE HELP US. . I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

A commenter experiencing unexplained infertility requests independent research on reproductive, mitochond…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
**Re: HHS-OASH-2026-0397 — RF/EMF Exposure, Reproductive Health, Mitochondrial Function, and Emerging Wireless Technologies** **Questions 2–3: Personal Perspective** I am a 43-year-old woman experiencing unexplained infertility. For more than half my life, I have lived in metropolitan environments with extensive cellular infrastructure, Wi-Fi networks, and wireless devices. Although I cannot establish that these exposures contributed to my infertility, I question whether the long-term biological consequences of widespread RF exposure have been adequately investigated, particularly regarding reproductive health, mitochondrial function, and developing children. **Questions 5, 6, and 11–12: Reproductive and Mitochondrial Health** I urge HHS to examine whether current RF exposure standards adequately address reproductive and developmental outcomes, including potential biological effects beyond tissue heating. A 2024 systematic review by Cordelli et al. identified potential adverse reproductive effects in experimental studies, although evidence remains uncertain. A 2024 review by Meyer et al. examined oxidative-stress biomarkers and found very low-certainty evidence. Mitochondrial function is fundamental to cellular energy production, fertility, and healthy development. I request independent studies investigating whether chronic RF exposure influences mitochondrial respiration, oxidative stress, egg and sperm quality, implantation, pregnancy outcomes, or childhood development. Research should prioritize women attempting conception, pregnant women, developing fetuses, and children, using objective measurements of real-world, cumulative exposure. **Question 13: 5G and Emerging 6G Technologies** Emerging 6G systems may use higher-frequency spectrum, including sub-terahertz frequencies, to support greater bandwidth and data capacity. Advanced beamforming and denser wireless infrastructure may also alter exposure patterns. Although higher frequency alone does not establish greater biological harm, expanding these technologies without adequate long-term biological research raises legitimate public health questions. I urge HHS to independently evaluate the biological implications of emerging frequencies and exposure patterns before widespread deployment wherever feasible, rather than assuming existing standards adequately address every new technology. **Questions 14–15: Environmental Health** Potential RF effects on pollinators, birds, plants, and other organisms also warrant investigation, particularly concerning reproduction, development, behavior, and ecosystem health. **Questions 9, 16–17: Federal Research Priorities** I respectfully request that HHS: 1. Fund independent, longitudinal studies examining fertility, pregnancy, childhood development, and mitochondrial function. 2. Investigate biological endpoints beyond tissue heating, including oxidative stress and cellular energy metabolism. 3. Measure realistic, cumulative exposure from multiple wireless sources, accounting for frequency, intensity, duration, and proximity. 4. Establish transparent research priorities for 5G and 6G, with independent replication and disclosure of funding conflicts. 5. Provide accessible exposure data and evidence-based guidance to families seeking to minimize unnecessary exposure. **Conclusion** Technological advancement should be accompanied by equally rigorous public health research and accountability. As a woman struggling to conceive, I believe reproductive health, mitochondrial integrity, and the biological consequences of lifelong environmental exposure deserve serious federal attention. Scientific uncertainty should motivate independent investigation, transparent risk assessment, and reasonable precaution—not premature assurances of safety or unsupported claims of harm. **Selected References** Cordelli et al.
