Reports severe symptoms near a tower with improvement after reducing exposure, animal effects attributed …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Hello, my experience w/ EMF ha been a devastating one. A cell tower was put up at a fire station without any notice, and I used to subscribe to the local newspaper, so I should have seen something about it. I had no idea the problem was EMF but after several years of suffering, trying everything to help myself, nothing worked. Long story short: the problem was EMF; the tower directly outside my living room window, with a clear line of sight to our home. I had 15 different health problems (wish I had kept that list), but included heart palpitations (still having this problem), horrible hot flashes, very poor digestion, Reynaud's syndrome, vertigo, always swollen tongue, always feeling zapped/tired, couldn't sleep more than an hour (exhausting) and so on. I was looking to quit my job as I couldn't drive w/ the vertigo. It was bad, turned out life upside down. Once I found out about EMF and practicing "distance and avoid" the symptoms disappeared, some overnight! I also bought a very good quality meter to be sure this was not "in my head"; it wasn't; everytime I'd get near it or overexposed, the symptoms would reappear. My neighbors chickens developed huge ulcers hanging from their necks due to smart meters. The eggs had strange shapes. I've seen first hand "damages" done by these wireless radiation exposure. So, please limit the distance and exposure of EMFs to PEOPLE, espcially residential neighborhoods. It is WRONG to have cell towers near homes, where we should be able to get good slepp to recover and rejuvenate our bodies, our beings. Listen to Environmental Health Trust (EHT) and Childrens Health Defense (CHD) and others like 5G Free California; these people genuinely care and study EMFs; they know what they are talking about. If you need proof, here are a list of some; trust me, EMF problems are real; they cause real health issues and the sad thing is no one is clearly and openly warning people. Thanks to Mr. Kennedy and some others who now are. EHT has been warning us from the start too. * on women's health: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/public-health/articles/10.3389/fpubh.2026.1915745/full * here is one on sleep quality: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychiatry/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2026.1755918/full * how it actually changes our DNA: https://www.emfdata.org/de/studien/detail&id=944 * on testicular health: https://www.emfdata.org/de/studien/detail&id=947 * how it disrupts bats navigation abilities: https://www.emfdata.org/de/studien/detail&id=941 There are many more. It's criminal to put up a cell tower on elementary school grounds or stick laptops on kid's hands to stare at many hours a day. Please take measures to limit wireless tech exposres. I'm not against it; I want CHOICE to use it if I want it. Some want the full exposre, great! They should have it, but it should be a CHOICE to those who don't want it. I live in deep woods, almost off grid, to get away from so much exposure, and it's helped me. I should be able to live in town like others. I've accepted I no long er fly; I no longer to to concerts or any place w/ a lot of people (who all have cell phones). THANK YOU for considering these thoughts. Please help! Please limit exposures and please have it be an option to use wireless. The corded items should be kept as a choice who want it.

Objects to extensive wireless deployment, particularly near schools, reports friends' vertigo and tinnitu…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
The exposure to nnEMFs is outrageous. 5G towers at children’s schools and playgrounds, multiple smart meters connected to every home, WiFi grids, and an inability to live without extreme exposure. The push for the quick rollout of 6G is also devastating. Young friends are suffering from vertigo, many are suffering from tinnitus, people everywhere are ill from radio sickness. Enough is enough. Americans deserve a chance to live without so much poison and disruption to our physiology. The children deserve to go to school without 5G towers in their playgrounds! The research on nnEMFs and their effects on the body have been done - they were never promising and nothing has changed. It’s time the HHS and this administration actually took the health of Americans seriously and stopped skirting around the most pressing issues.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
In 2012, a technician from Hydro Québec rang at my door and installed a smart meter on the exterior wall at the right of my house. Instantly I got a headache, nausea, vertigo. The during the night I could not sleep completely and feeling "head fog". The day after I was feeling nausea and could not think clearly. I phoned Hydro Québec to ask them ton come to change that meter. I explained how I was feeling and be sick after that installation. They refused. My health continue to decline: I began to have cognitive difficulties like lost of memory and difficulty to find my words to speak. I decided to quit my home and live in my friend's home 6 month, until Hydro Québec accepted to retraet that smart meter for a non communicated one. In 2014, I had a episode of 3 syncopes after they installed a cell tower at 350 meters of my home.Since then when I go outside I have headache, losing balance of my body, have vertigo and nausea. When people around me have bluetooth watch I feel heave pain in my stomach, legs and belly then I have nausea.

Reports EMF sensitivity and illness after smart-meter installation and asks to keep 5G away from schools …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am EMF sensitive. When smart meters were placed on our home we both were unwell for a few weeks. Please keep 5G away from schools and out of residential neighborhoods. We don't need it harming our health. The EU has much more awareness of the potential dangerous of EMF than in the US. Please curb what the industry is doing.

Reports sleep, memory and cardiac symptoms associated with towers, smart meters and electrical line noise…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I have been severely affected by cell tower radiation, smart meter RF radiation and line noise (voltage transients and harmonics from switched mode power supplies), cell phone radiation, LED lights, and essentially anything that emits a PULSED EMF. Cell tower installed 1000 ft from my home. I didn't know it because it was hidden by trees. But suddenly, I wasn't sleeping so well. A year later, I discovered the cell tower but made no association between my poorer sleep and the tower. Yet when I'd visit my parents, who lived where, at the time, there was essentially no cell reception, I slept well again. In 2012, I finally realized that the tower was the likely cause of my poorer sleep. The other troubling thing was, the year the cell tower was installed, the number of insects dropped by about 1/3. All insects, not just some types. I wondered about it, but thought it might be some sort of cyclical or climatic thing. But the populations never recovered. Twelve years later, smart meters were installed. The next year, the insect population was reduced to 1/3 of what it had been pre-cell-tower. The insects never recovered. Four years later, there were hardly even any beetles. They seem to have been the one bug that was more resilient or unaffected than the others. Then, at my parents' home, where I'd always slept really well, I had near-total insomnia. I tossed and turned all night. I didn't know why. My only speculation was that it must be emotional (don't we all go to that when something is unexplained?), though I'd no idea what that might be. Year after year after year, I could not sleep and would go home completely worn out. Then I learned that a PLC meter had been installed on their home in January of the year I became unable to sleep. We installed a whole-house dirty electricity filter and I had no more problems. The smart meters were installed in my neighborhood in 2012. That completely changed my life. This wasn't the poor sleep from the cell tower. This was all-encompassing: terrible, unrestful sleep; transient memory loss; severe fatigue; heart palpitations. There's so much more I could recount, but this gives you a glimpse into what happens to a not unsignificant proportion of the population.

Describes friends' EMF sensitivity and personal loss of electric service after refusing a smart meter, an…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public as good friends of mine are highly sensitive to EMF’s, to the point where they mainly no longer venture from their rural home; I believe it’s a mistake to blithely support something which impacts all living forms on the planet. At the least, it should be an individual’s choice as to whether or not one is subjected to the potential health risks from wireless radiation. In my case, the state of Michigan allows consumers to opt out from smart meters but unfortunately my local REA (Ontonagon REA) has a loophole around this law and Ontonagon REA forced me (a senior citizen and longtime customer in good standing) off-grid at my rural summer homestead because I refuse to use their smart meter (I know of others in the area who are also being pushed to accept REA’s smart meters). It’s been a hardship for me to be off-grid, and no one I’ve spoken with believes that it’s acceptable for an American company to allow its own interests to override individual liberties. HHS can play a role in helping to allow consumers this important right to choose whether or not to have a smart meter at their home and in so doing, protect individuals who wish to reduce wireless radiation exposure and keep their homes safe and comfortable places in which to live. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Describes insomnia and headaches after smart-meter installation, perceived improvement with meter replace…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I've been around computers and electronics since 1977, starting with mainframe computers and the old-fashioned tube displays. That was my job until 2003 when I retired. I'm always somebody who wants to try new things when they come out. At one time I had three microwaves in my kitchen, or so I could cook three different items at the same time and have a full course meal come out in 30 minutes. When I started to work from home, I always asked for the fastest modem that was possible from my work. When the iPhone came out in 2007, I bought one and used it incessantly. I made the comment to myself this may cause me problems later on, but I would deal with that then, because right now it was wonderful. In 2012, I was living in my condo in Port Hueneme, California, called Surfside IV. I was on the second of three floors at the end of the building. In March, the electric company installed seven smart electric meters in the utility room that was directly underneath my master bedroom. underneath a closet. In May, I noticed that whenever I walked back to the master bedroom, I tended to get a headache for about two weeks. My neighbor downstairs reported the same thing. I now believe this is when they were testing the smart meters. I was excited for them to be activated so that I could monitor my electrical usage by the hour. Once a month I would call asking when they were going to be fully activated. About three weeks into September, I called and was notified that they were activated at the beginning of September. Starting around the beginning of September, my sleep had gone from nine hours a day to 4 1/2 hours a day. I thought I had just a bad bout of insomnia. I had no idea that the smart meters had been turned on. I'm fairly smart, but with my lack of sleep, it took me a year to figure out what to do. I got four of the 7 smart meters replaced with manual. I replaced my wireless phones with wired, and I switched to Ethernet cords instead of wireless for my computer. This made a small improvement. The final step was to construct a Faraday cage made out of aluminum screening that I constructed around my mattress on my platform bed, with one side opening up for me to get in and out, and the mattress inside. This reduced the reading on my meter to -65 DB, which is the most it would go to. At times, the cage would get tears in it and I found that if the reading went over -60 DB my sleep would deteriorate to six hours. This happened several times, so it was a multiple experiment that was collaborated. I found that if I was in an area that had -35 dB or greater, that within a half an hour I would feel very nervous and my sleep would be affected that night. I found that being in meeting rooms with other people that had cell phones, even though there was Wi-Fi in the building, that if I had everybody turn their cell phones off that the radiation was reduced by 90% most times. In other words, having cell phones on, in close proximity to me in a group, was much stronger than the Wi-Fi in the building. In a movie theater, I would have to go to a far corner, to be away from being in the middle of the group of people. In 2018 and in 2019, I was in the hospital. I had to be given drugs to help me get any sleep at all. In 2024 I was in the hospital for over three weeks and with opiates in me, I still had trouble sleeping more than two hours a night. I finally relented and let them give me Ambien, which allowed me to sleep six hours. I ordered an EMF blocking single pup tent that is designed to be used on motel beds. We installed that on my hospital bed and I was able to sleep six hours with no Ambien. In 2026, I was in the hospital again and used the same pup tent in both the emergency room and in the hospital, to good effect. I now find that I need to be in an area with no bars on my cell phone and no Wi-Fi hotspot around me to be able to sleep good.
