ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a radiofrequency (RF) radiation injured citizen of the United States of America who has suffered greatly in the recent past and continues to suffer injuries because of the high levels of ambient RF/EMF radiation from cell phones, cell phone towers, wifi routers and other devices transmitting radiofrequency (RF) radiation at levels which—while currently allowed by the FCC—exceed the level of safety according to thousands of peer-reviewed scientific studies. Between 2004 and 2018 I suffered from numerous, unexplained health issues which only later, through my own knowledge and action, came to understand, mitigate and bring into control or complete remission. Throughout 2004-2018 I was subject to: • Alopecia Areata • Dry, burning, Itchy eyes • Headache behind my eyes • Tachycardia • Depression, Insomnia • Ringing in the ears, Tinnitus I was diagnosed by two separate doctors and neither of them had any guidance as to cause or what I should do to alleviate them, other than medication. They generally felt it was due to “stress.” The Alopecia Areata was devastating and disabling. Occurring on two separate occasions lasting 8-12 months. At this time I had to wear a hat constantly because my head was covered with random bald patches. The dry, itchy, burning eyes were equally disabling. For nearly two years straight (2016-2018) I suffered from this injury which was so bad at times that the blood vessels in my eyes would rupture, causing my eyes to be blood red for weeks at a time. Around 2018 I was becoming more familiar with the science regarding the biological effects of RF/EMF and as my understanding increased, I acquired an RF/EMF meter and learned how to use it to determine the levels of RF/EMF emission around me. I also learned to understand what the established science had determined were “safe levels of exposure.” As I metered my environment I was appalled to learn that I was being bombarded with high levels of RF radiation, everywhere, 24 hours a day from myriad sources all around me—cell phones, cell towers, RF modems in houses, buildings, apartments, stores, shops, etc. I began to note, with despair, that I could literally not escape the exposure. I was being irradiated and assaulted without my consent every time I left my house. My health was and continues to be jeopardized due to the lack of proper oversight and regulation by my government and its agencies. In 2018, on my own accord, I began to minimize my exposure to RF/EMF as much as I possibly could. I eliminated all RF devices in my home (going back to cabled connections) and created a clean, sleeping space using RF blocking fabrics and materials. This began to have an effect almost immediately. Within a few weeks my symptoms were diminishing. The burning, dry eyes subsided and my body started feeling clean in a way that I hadn’t felt in many years. In 2021 I moved to a rural area with very low levels of ambient, outdoor RF and the healing continued. Today in 2026, all of the symptoms previously listed have disappeared and since 2018, the Alopecia Areata has never returned. I have been able to directly correlate my injuries with RF/EMF exposure. First, by lowering my exposure I was able to make all of my symptoms disappear. And second, in this day, when I’m in an environment with high levels of RF, I will start to feel the itchy, dry eyes and the headache. When I drive through any city I will have bouts of Tachycardia and almost always notice that I’m driving or walking by a rooftop cell tower or street level RF transmitter. After any high RF exposure I’ll notice loud and prominent Tinnitus. And this Tinnitus will disappear once I’m back in my clean, home environment over the course of a few days. Yet, unfortunately, while I’ve been able to heal completely from my previous injuries, I can only maintain my health by living in the bubble of my home environment. I cannot go into any city, store, hotel/motel, coffee shop, restaurant, train, bus etc. for any extended period of time without exposing myself to RF radiation and possibly suffering a relapse of the serious health issues I faced earlier. I cannot be safe going out in any city or urban area because of the high levels of ambient radiofrequency (RF) radiation which are typical in every city today. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

A patient and health professional reports headaches, dizziness and fatigue around wireless exposure, impr…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am extremely concerned about emf damage to people’s health, the environment and even to city infrastructure.  The main response I’ve heard from the Telecom companies is, that no matter what the evidence, they are simply complying with FCC guidelines, end of story. So, we're not allowed to mention health concerns, because TeleCom devices and equipment comply within safety guidelines set way back in 1996, 30 years ago?  With advances in technology occurring at lightening speed? There is ample evidence today, why the health issue must be addressed by everyone and why we all must care. By the FCC's own admittance, its regulations are long outdated.  Way back in 2013, in light of evidence backed by substantial science on health risks, the FCC was questioning itself regarding the accuracy of their own limits with regard to the potential health hazard of electromagnetic fields. I refer to the Document from the Federal Register dated 06/04/2013, Docket Name Human Exposure to Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Fields. This suggests that the FCC was having to review the issue years ago, though nothing changed while the emts have proliferated and amplified. With regard to the health risks of emf radiation, I cite just one report of many, The BioInitiative Report, of 2012, by 29 independent scientists, stating that biological effects are clearly established and occur at very low levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation from just minutes of exposure to mobile phone masts (cell towers), WI-FI...  and on.  http://www.bioinitiative.org/conclusions As for its effects on infrastructure, I cite a letter from Chief Science Officer Curtis Bennett,  Journeyman Electrician Engineering Technologist, to the Energy Minister of British Columbia, March 7, 2012. Bennett states " Blanketing areas with frequencies for ease of communication has serious ramifications on buildings and infrastructure that requires immediate attention. Frequencies blasting across the atmosphere to communicate with smart devices will interact with all infrastructure…  Buildings subjected to frequencies have to be designed for it." Bennett goes on to elaborate about liabilities. The entirety of his letter is disturbing. Technology has moved at lightening speed and science, with longer term studies now exposing data… the alarm is sounding.

The commenter identifies EHS, describes a reported provocation test affecting heart rhythm, cites Swedish…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
My comments to potential adverse health and environmental effects of RF radiation I live in Sweden and am posting this comment because I suffer from the disability known as electrohypersensitivity (EHS), which is well documented in the form of medical certificates, confirmed in a double-blind scientific test in Germany and, not least, through the constant ‘blind tests’ that occur in everyday life. My reactions to a wireless wifi router have been documented in a scientific double-blind stress test in which heart rhythm (HRV) was clearly disrupted at a level as low as one millionth (0.000001) of the Swedish limit value of 10,000,000 μW/m² established by the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. Many of my friends here in Sweden, like me, feel very unwell and are struggling to escape the radiation from wireless technology. In 2015, the general public in Sweden were asked by the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten) whether various environmental factors affect health. 5.2 per cent of respondents said that they were bothered by car exhaust fumes more than once a week. In large cities, 10–12.2 per cent reported being very or extremely disturbed by traffic noise. Questions about “electromagnetic fields from, for example, mobile phones and antennas” and “electromagnetic fields from, for example, electrical appliances and power lines” had also been asked. 4 However, the results were not published in the same way as those for noise and car exhaust fumes. Following a request, the results were provided to the Swedish Association for the Electrohypersensitive. 35.2 per cent of respondents said that their health is negatively affected and 10.6 per cent said that their health is significantly affected by mobile phones and masts. Overall, 45.8 per cent reported a negative or significantly negative impact.5 This shows that the problem of ill health caused by radiation from wireless technology needs to be taken seriously and is considerably greater than many other serious environment-related health problems. I am also deeply concerned about the growing number of research reports finding that the artificial radio waves used for wireless communication – which are extremely much stronger than natural background radiation – harm plants, insects and other animals. This fact in itself poses a serious threat to human survival on this wonderful planet. Is radiation from wireless technology harmful? I believe the question is misguided and should instead be phrased as follows: How is it possible that humans and other forms of biological life could tolerate these environmentally alien radio waves, which have never before existed in the course of evolution? After all, a prerequisite for the life and health of biological beings is that we function and communicate internally using electric fields that are so incredibly much weaker than those from wireless communication. Brain waves can be measured externally using an EEG. Naturally, the electromagnetic fields from wireless technology also penetrate the body, interfere with our own signals and cause disruption. Thank you for your initiative in looking more closely at this issue; it gives me a glimmer of hope in the darkness! ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
My family is sensitive to electromagnetic radiation (EMR) and are unfortunately exposed to more and more EMR every time we go to town. 5G cell towers are popping up everywhere and the march of smart gadgets are hard to avoid. I personally get severe headaches when I’m near WIFI for any length of time. We have to pay our electric company extra every month to avoid having a smart meter placed outside our bedroom. The corporate push to use EMR in all aspects of our daily lives is literally killing us and needs to be regulated through new independent scientific studies overseen by reputable non-profits like the Environmental Health Trust. Why has HHS not conducted regular safety studies on new cell phones using 5G and 6G? We know that 2G-4G negatively impacted rat health in laboratory studies. The evidence is there but the public continues to be misled and unprotected by irresponsible corporate greed. Lawsuits are overdue on the subject of human EMR exposure! We trust HSS will serve the public good and do the right thing in regulating EMR in the near future. Thank you

I find it incredibly irresponsible that our United States government allows EMF radiation to be so rampant in our nation without proper "long term" safety studies! We need a responsible government and not a good old boys club exchanging money to push this stuff thru. We've become completely sold out to big corporations regardless of what they sell from pharmaceuticals, communications, energy, tech, oil, etc. And why is the comment period so short?

A parent reports palpitations and increased seizures in a child after nearby smart-meter installation, de…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a husband and father. We live in a condominium community and there are 6 so-called "smart meters" on the other side of the wall of my son's bedroom. My son is autistic, has seizures and is non-verbal. I always suspected that wireless radiation was one of the causes of his condition. Right after with wireless meters were installed, I called con edison and asked them if they knew how safe they were. Their response was that the meters were approved by the FCC. That is their only answer to this day. Being a graduate of mass communications, I know a bit about FCC regulation. The FCC has nothing to do with people's health. They only check to see if devices interfere with other communication devices. They also told me that the previous meters had also been wireless, but a meter man had to drive alongside the meters to get the reading. I told con edison that I wanted to opt out of the wireless meters. It was almost useless because there are 5 other wirelessmeters on my son's wall, but I did it anyway. I am now charged extra money because I am concerned for my son's health and nobody in New York government (who gave con edison permission to install the meters) seems to care at all. A couple of days after the meters were installed, I was feeling unwell at work and started to drive home. For the first time in my life, I had heart palpitations. I didn't know what was happening so I called 911. An ambulance took me to the hospital. After following up with a cardiologist, he put me on Xanax and I have been on it ever since. There was also an uptick in my son's seizures. He is now on 5 medicines to help control the seizures and he is unable to make it to school regularly. I had planned for us to move out of here, because I had seen a couple of houses where the people moved the meters away from the house. I had planned the move to be for 2020. But then, the pandemic hit and real estate in Westchester got out of control and out of reach for middle class families. I want a way to measure the wireless radiation in our home. I did buy a small device, and it of course flashes "DANGER" around the wall adjacent to the meters. But we need professional, government approved proof of what is happening. Just last month, I made a formal complaint with New York state about it. All they did was have someone at con edison call me, and that person referred me to the FCC web site, which again is absurd because the FCC is only concerned about whether a communication device interferes with other communication devices. They have no concern for people whatsoever! I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Reports hypersensitivity with severe neurological and cardiac symptoms, loss of a professional career and…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient. EMFs, RF and Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) have dramatically affected me. Please note my list of symptoms below triggered by EMFs, RF and EMR that began after 2010, intensified until I was forced to stop working due to these symptoms in May 2014 and continue to this day. I was a partner in the largest CPA (certified public accounting) firm in our county, and was at the peak of my career. My dream home had to be sold to pay ongoing medical bills and eliminate our mortgage. My husband and I had to move to a mobile home to exist and have poured considerable money into the home to shield from EMFs, RF and EMR. I am completely overwhelmed with the medical symptoms triggered by and it is a day-to-day struggle to survive. Specific triggers of EMFs, RF and EMR for me include, but are not limited to exposure to: Cell phones, Cell towers, Smart meters, Computers, wireless phones, laptops, EV, Most vehicles built after mid 2000s, Cellular satellites, LED bulbs, LED light displays, smart watches, wireless hearing aids, and, hearing loops. My symptoms when exposed to EMFs, RF and EMR include: Vise-like painful grip circling head, Knife-like sharp pains in head, Migraine lasting min 6hr to max of 4 days, Vertigo, Disorientation, Heart arrythmia, Shortness of breath, Chest pressure, Slurred speech, Blurry eyesight, Visionary mirrors related to migraines, Hands shaking, and, Extreme exhaustion. My ongoing limitations include: Almost completely housebound leaving home only for emergencies or medical appointments. It takes days to recover from migraines and other symptoms noted above after leaving our shielded home; Prevented from traveling via airplanes, ships, modern vehicles, train; Prevented from staying in hotels, friends’ or relatives’ homes; Prevented from attending outdoor holiday lights displays, LED light shows, parades; Limited access to worship, theatre, live performances, sports events – anywhere that has sound systems under new FCC frequency guidelines that emit radiation; Cannot shop or run errands without severe side effects (e.g. grocery stores, malls, farmers’ markets); No access to banking, texting, emergency notifications from banks, utility companies, housing management via cell phones. In a power outage, no access to emails to compensate for this limitation; Cannot take walks outside of home, go to the beach or parks; Considerable expenses incurred due to my hypersensitivity to EMFs, RF and EMR: Shield home including upgrades as technology from 3G to 4G to 5G changes; Expense to re-wire existing appliances; Considerable expense & labor to search for wireless-free equipment, disable wifi features on electronic equipment if possible; Expense for watching tv without wireless, smart devices/screens/remotes/streaming devices (e.g. Roku); Expense and great inconvenience to move to a community without smart meters on or near home; Considerable out of pocket expense for medical devices and therapists not covered by insurance to reduce or attempt to control the pain. HHS should address the sources of EMFs, RF and EMR. Specifically, I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I’d like to comment about the Wi-Fi towers or whatever they are. They definitely block both of my ears if I’m in a place of business that has a strong Wi-Fi my ears will also plug sometimes it takes over an hour to calm down. I’d be more than happy to be studied because it is truly a real thing. …not very fun and clearly just getting worse with more of the towers going up. Thank you for your time.
