I am submitting this comment in response to HHS's request for information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMF), Radiofrequency Radiation (RF), and Wireless Radiation Exposure.
I am responding in the perspective of a patient.
My reaction to EMF exposure:
I couldn't sleep for a month - a strange pain in my back and shoulders, a shaking/vibrating sensation would keep me awake, my knees ached, hands and wrists swelled. I lost muscle in my shoulders and arms.
My knees began to hurt and fail.I needed a knee brace to walk. I am a hiker!
I couldn't dress myself-my arms couldn't function. I was almost cripple.
My D.O. couldn't find any physical cause for the symptoms. My chiropractor couldn't find a cause. I have no disease or cormorbidity.
I started weekly Acupuncture treatment.
I called an EMF expert to evaluate the home. She found: *Strong WI-FI signal for home computer. *High Frequency Cell Tower emitting strong waves directed at the house. *Dirty wiring in bedroom walls
We addressed these with help from our electrician:
*Switched all computers to Ethernet only, turned off all WI-FI in house and cars. *Installed Whole House Filter and repaired dirty wiring *I don't sit on the front porch (hot spot)or other areas in direct line of Cell Tower. *I purchased an EMF meter, clothes ,Faraday Fabric, sheets to protect from EMF from 2 catalogs (One USA,one Canadian).
Before theses changes and treatments we took a pre-planned trip to a remote mountain Lodge. I was almost cripple the first 2 days. By the 3rd and 4th days I was significantly improved and walking well. On a return trip to the Lodge I took my meter - the WI-FI signal is weak throughout, and weakest in our room.
In about 8-10 months of these treatments and changes, I finally regained most of my mobility and muscle,my wrist swelling abated,I slept well.
When I travel,I carry the meter and protective bedding and clothes. If the WI-FI is strong we can't stay, it may take days to recover after exposure. I don't know if it is safe for me to fly.
I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.
Thank you for providing us an opportunity to be heard.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate personal experiences and scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. I am currently 73 years old. In 2005, I moved to Kirkland WA and spent time in a local herbal shop and apothecary, learning about organic plants' healing properties and specialized tinctures and teas. I learned about EMF's emitted by microwaves and how food composition and nutritional values are changed and destroyed. I resorted to heating food on stove top in stainless steel pots. In 2019, a friend encouraged me to remove my laptop and printer from my bedroom, explaining "blue light" was affecting my body and brain and keeping me from truly resting as I slept. I turned on my wifi at bedtime and immediately felt an ease in my brain and down my spine! I soon moved the equipment to another room but continued turning it off at night. I questioned why I wanted to have EMF's emitted "all the time" and began turning on wifi only when I needed to use it and off when I was done. In that same year, Kirkland residents made a presentation to our City Council to delay installation of a 5G tower one block from an elementary school. We requested 1-2 years to learn more about effects of 5G waves on human brains, especially young childrens' brains. Our request was denied and the 5G was installed across the street from my home. I had reduced EMF's in my home and was unwilling to live where 5G would be emitted ALL THE TIME! I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and work from a home studio, so massage clients would be directly affected as well. I sold my Kirkland WA home and moved to SC. In 2023, I was experiencing dizziness for over a year and was encouraged by my homeopathic physician to request an analog meter from my electric utility. They no longer have analog meters, but offered to set my digital meter to "On Demand". My meter is "Off" except for 2 minutes each Sunday morning to allow the utility to log my weekly usage. The digital meter is on the outside wall of my bedroom, behind my headboard. I quickly noticed I was sleeping better- longer hours without waking and dreams were deeper and more memorable, indicating I was remaining longer in deep rem sleep state. Then, I turned off my wifi reception and began using an ethernet cable for my laptop and printer. Within one week, my dizziness ceased! I can still utilize wifi if necessary for a special project, but then I return to ethernet. My nervous system, mental clarity and overall ease in my body is much improved with the reduction of EMF's in my home. My clients comment that my house feels quiet, calm and cozy when they come for massage sessions. I feel it's a significant part of the healing process for all of us and am greatly appreciative to those wise people who have guided me.
I’m going to keep this simple because there probably a lot of long highly technical comments here as there should be so I’m going to point to an experiment done by 5 ninth grade girls in Denmark. They wondered if their I struggle to concentrate in class as well as trouble sleeping might have to do with keeping their cell phones at close distance by their bedside while sleeping. The experiment involved exposing 400 cress seeds to cell phone radiation for 12 days. The experiment has gained attention and acclaim among established researchers and scientists throughout Europe.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. My comment is to explain the details of what I have to go through to live in this contaminated EMF environment. This is what I have to do what I can to protect myself from EMF radiation:
I moved to the country on acreage so that I have no neighbors close to me which reduces my exposure.
I refused the Smart Reader (which fortunately Oregon allows) and now have to pay an additional $3 per month as meter reading fee even though they do not read the meter monthly. They only read the meter once a year.
My router does not have a separate WiFi on/off switch and Century Link says they do not have a router with this feature that is compatible with this capability. Therefore, I turn off my router and only turn it on when I access the internet which I do only on a hardwired laptop.
I do not have a Smart TV so that it is not adding to my exposure. I watch tv with an antenna and record programs with the software on my Hauppauge tuner that is in the desktop computer attached to my TV screen. All hardwired. However, when my tv monitor goes out I understand that there are no TV’s without WiFi available anymore.
I do not have any appliances with WiFi capabilities but I understand that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find any appliance without WiFi which will become a problem in the future.
I do not have space for a printer near my computer so I have to use WiFi. I keep that printer turned off so that it is not searching for a WiFi signal except when I need to print something.
On my cell phone I keep Bluetooth, WiFi, Data and Location off at all times. Every couple days, I try to remember to turn on WiFi for a few minutes in order to receive any text messages that were sent to me by RCS. I keep my cell phone in a far corner in my house and when I am outside, I keep it away from my body. I use a stylus to text. I use Airplane mode, Farraday bag, turning my phone off as other methods to reduce EMF.
I have an in-ground landline phone line to my house, and I have corded phones.
I installed LED lights in my kitchen and dining area before I knew that they were not good for my health. Now, due to federal regulations I am not able to purchase new cans and incandescent bulbs. That needs to be reversed.
My car is a 2008 and therefore does not have the invasive electronic features. I have not purchased a new car because, I understand that any car from 2012 to date has all the invasive electronic features. I do not know what I am going to do if my car fails and I have to replace it.
Going inside any hospital or clinic is very unhealthy as you are barraged with EMF. If I require medical assistance it will need to be outside of the medical system. I am forced to pay for Medicare even though I choose not to, and cannot, use its services. I am researching to find out how I can opt out of Medicare so that I can use that money to support my health outside of the HealthCare system such as Home Care, Telehealth, etc.
As you can see, this is A LOT. I am blessed to now be retired and have the money to be able to make these modifications in order to feel healthy and vibrant and protect my health. But the question is, should we be creating a world where this is necessary?
I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.
Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public.
When I was in college, Write State University, I wrote a paper on EMF radiation. This was back in the 90's. At that time my report showed how dangerous even a clock radio or electric blanket was to a human. I can only imagine with the 5G + today, how much damage this radiation is doing to the human body today, not to mention to children.

Please read the research by Dr. Joseph Mercola as well as A Midwestern Doctor on Substack, and so many more who have poured over the research saying how the EMFs from many technologies, but especially wireless, jeopardizes brain health(esp in young children) and bodily health. Researchers who compare the radiation around the globe 20 years ago with today’s radiation levels find astoundingly distressing thick radiation nowadays. Cell towers need to be severely limited and should have a shield to protect the people from harm. We need to consider wired options but truly curtail wireless technology or put more safeguards in play until we know more about its adverse effects on health.

I have an M.D. degree and am also a graduate of Harvard Medical School's Global Clinical Scholars Research Training program. and have read some of the research to date on possible adverse effects of EMFs, RF radiation, and wireless radiation exposure and have concerns for my own health and the health of my family.
Based on research that I have read to date, I believe that HHS should further investigate. Because of my concerns about 5G wireless radiation, when I needed a new phone recently, I purchase a 4G phone which was somewhat difficult to obtain because almost every company has "upgraded" to 5G, and I have read that we are rushing toward 6G now, without sufficient research on the human health effects, though what is available to read is highly concerning in my opinion. Although I have not been personally involved in radiation research, my research training at Harvard has trained me to read research critically, and I believe what we do know to date should urge us to investigate the potential for harm before we rush headlong into an even higher potential level of risk..

Please stop putting up these electronic devices that hurt people, birds and animals. Proper research and care must be taken so no harm is done. Please be mindful of our caretaker responsibility for our earth which we are custodians too.
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding as the mother of a child on the autism spectrum. As a parent, I want to understand the environmental factors that may affect my child’s health, development, and daily well-being so I can make informed decisions.
Wireless technology is part of everyday life in our homes, schools, and public spaces. Parents need clear, trustworthy information about exposure and whether children, including those with developmental differences, may have particular vulnerabilities that warrant further study.
I am not claiming that wireless radiation caused my child’s autism. I am asking HHS to take parents’ questions seriously and support rigorous research that helps us understand whether these exposures affect children’s sleep, attention, sensory regulation, or other aspects of their health. Families should not be left to sort through conflicting claims without meaningful guidance. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Federal agencies with expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health should carefully evaluate the scientific evidence and listen respectfully to individuals and families who report being affected.
I urge HHS to identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and prioritize research that includes children on the autism spectrum. Please translate the findings into clear, practical guidance that parents and schools can use, including what is known, what remains uncertain, and whether measures to reduce exposure are warranted. As a mother, I want answers grounded in sound science and a genuine commitment to protecting children’s health. Thank you for giving families an opportunity to be heard
