I am submitting this comment as a licensed Professional Engineer (environmental engineering master’s degree), U.S. Navy veteran, and concerned citizen. Current federal exposure guidelines for RF/EMF from wireless devices, Wi-Fi, and 5G infrastructure are outdated, based primarily on thermal effects, and fail to adequately protect public health—especially children, pregnant women, and those with electromagnetic hypersensitivity.
Independent research, including the National Toxicology Program animal studies and multiple peer-reviewed papers, has shown clear evidence of biological effects at levels well below current FCC limits, including increased cancer risk, oxidative stress, DNA damage, and reproductive harm. These findings have been dismissed or minimized while industry-funded studies and captured agencies continue to claim “no proven harm.” This pattern mirrors other failures of public health agencies that prioritize corporate interests over independent science.
I urge HHS to:
Commission and fund truly independent research that examines non-thermal effects, cumulative exposure, and real-world chronic low-level RF from 5G small cells and densified networks.
Update safety standards to account for biological effects, not merely heating of tissue.
Require transparent disclosure of conflicts of interest in all studies relied upon by the agency.
Support a precautionary approach: pause further dense 5G deployments near homes, schools, and hospitals until safety is demonstrated, and prioritize wired alternatives where feasible.
Investigate and publicly report on the health impacts of the existing nationwide 5G infrastructure that has been rolled out with insufficient long-term data.
The public has a right to accurate information and protection from involuntary exposure. Continuing to rely on 1990s-era thermal-only limits while saturating the environment with pulsed RF is not acceptable. I call on HHS to put human health ahead of industry expansion.

We don’t know what the long term effects of blanketed EMF and RF exposure will do to our health. At the very least we should have restrictions such as: no freestanding wireless facilities within 500 feet of
residential zone and schools.
I refuse to have my family subjected to frequency weapons like the ones on nearly every tower in this country. This has to be stopped before life begins to be unsustainable on the surface. Our fruit trees and plant are struggling to grow because of the damage from these towers (among other things like spraying) and this has been proven time and time again I lab settings. We must go back to 4g and remove all nodes that dont directly pertain to a cell connection.
I get extremely sick from the wireless communication towers and am happy to talk to any government agency about how it affects my health. I’m highly sensitive and am adversely affected by the proliferation of these towers. Please cease in building more. I value my health and my life.
We live in the Madison, AL area and are being surrounded by towers. This area is entirely occupied by subdivisions and schools. We suffer from nausea, headaches and fatigue. It feels like we are being surrounded. No purpose on these towers other than poisoning. I oppose to this agenda.

I am responding from the perspective of a parent.
I do not know the extent to which wireless radiation has affected myself and my family, and this greatly concerns me. Everywhere we go, there are cell towers. Towers on top of towers. My head aches when I drive through certain areas. My children complain of sharp headaches often in the same areas. There is a cell tower near enough to our home that my concern is growing. Some days I feel like they must be blasting the signal more because I experience unexplained brain fog, heart palpitations, wheeziness, and more headaches. Other days, multiple children will have headaches or nausea at the same time, which resolves when we leave our home. The more I observe this, the more I question the cell tower at the end of our neighborhood.
I definitely can feel the effect of radiation after using devices during the day. Though I do try to mitigate, there is no clear guidance of what is safe. 4g, 5g, 6g - none of this is explained to the public, it is just forced on us. The need to use wireless devices to communicate is undeniable, but I want to clearly know how it is affecting our health.
I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.
Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.
I have constant ringing in the ears. Very low energy. Sleeplessness. I’ve noticed people in general are much more stressed and angry. In North Augusta South Carolina we have a huge number of these towers. The town looks like a military installation. Research must be done by you and not the corporations that own them!
I am an individual and my experience is this: I lived approx. 100 yards from a cell tower and was adversely affected by it. I developed an organizing hematoma at the breast that is permanent and needs to be drained periodically. After seeing many doctors that could not explain why this developed, a plastic surgeon of Monmouth County New Jersey told me that in his vast experience, the only time he has seen this is in a patient that had radiation.

I am writing to tell you that since I had to install Xfinity services for my computer and long-distance telephone service to call my sister in Japan, I am experiencing a strange kind of headache. I have to turn off the router most of the day. I use it only when I call Japan and local. So yes, wireless radiation has affected me, or someone you care about. Yes, these experiences have affected my daily life. I support people, especially children whose schools are often too close to the cell tower, who are affected by wireless radiation and I strongly believe that HHS should address this issue.
