I am a concerned human being about the damage wireless and other types of radiation being emitted are doing to the environment and to people and ALL organisms. Plants, insects, and other animals are being negatively affected also. We know that we are all electromagnetic beings with a frequency. Insects navigate their world through frequency and plants do also. I suggest reading the book "The Invisible Rainbow" A History of Electricity and Life by Arthur Firstenberg to learn more on the topic if you are not familiar with this concept. Earth's natural resonance is around 8hz if I am correct. We are now bombarding ourselves with harsh debilitating and damaging frequencies and radiation at levels FAR exceeding that. Now blasting the Earth with radiation from sattelites in space, cell towers near and far, and devices in our hands or pockets 24-7, 365 days a year. Military installations like HAARP in Gakona, Alaska and dozens of others around the world are beaming high frequency transmissions into the ionisphere, disrupting our atmosphere and weather patterns and degrading our protective ozone layer which at this point is only at aboyt 30% of what it should be- thus allowing even more damaging rays of UVB and UVC to reach earth's surface. Rising cancer levels and other neurological diseases are skyrocketing. Trees, plants, humans and animals are being scorched and harmed by these rays. This is FACT not conjecture. Every rocket, bomb or sattelite launched tears yet another hole in the ozone layer. Militaries around the world including that of the USA- MUST be brought under control and these practices HALTED- if we are to have any hope of survival for our own species and that of all the other myriad and wonderful creatures inhabiting Earth. AI and data centers are now yet another threat to the equilibrium of the natural world upon which we ALL depend for LIFE itself and our survival. We are analog beings in an analog world. Humans have been greedy, foolish, selfish stewards of this planet. The race to digital supremacy will be omnicidal for us all. Including innocent plants and animals, sea creatures and insects who have had NO say in any of this. Do we want this to be our legacy?! I know I DON'T. I urge you to PLEASE begin to rein in and put a HALT to these harmful transmissions. Stop being lap dogs for the technology industry. Please do some dilligent and honest research into these matters. The digital age is NOT making things better for the human race or any of the other beings whose home is planet Earth. The lives you save may be your own or that of your families.Thank you for your consideration.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Public Comment to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Subject: EMF Sensitivity, Mold Exposure, Genetic Testing, and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS) Submitted by: Shana Placenti New Hampshire, United States To the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, My name is Shana Placenti, and I am sharing my personal experiences with electromagnetic field (EMF) sensitivity, mold exposure, and Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS). I have been battling CIRS since 2018, following prolonged exposure to a water-damaged, mold-contaminated home. Over the past eight years, I have experienced severe neurological, cognitive, and physical symptoms that have significantly affected my health and quality of life. Approximately five years ago, I underwent extensive genetic testing involving roughly 200,000 genetic markers. According to the interpretation provided with my results, I was identified as having what the report described as "double EMF sensitivity." When I am around what I believe to be sources of electromagnetic fields, I experience intense buzzing and vibrating sensations throughout my body. At times, it feels as though my entire nervous system is buzzing. These sensations can become extremely uncomfortable and overwhelming, particularly when I am already experiencing neurological symptoms. Following my mold exposure, I experienced severe dizziness, balance disturbances, cognitive difficulties, impaired temperature regulation, and changes in bladder function. At one point, my neurological symptoms were so debilitating that I struggled to walk and maintain my balance. I have also experienced multiple concussions, further complicating my neurological health. I am concerned about whether individuals with chronic inflammatory illnesses following mold exposure may experience heightened sensitivity to other environmental factors, including electromagnetic fields. I am also concerned about the potential relationship between electromagnetic fields and mold-related toxicity. I encourage HHS to investigate whether EMF exposure can influence fungal growth, mycotoxin production, or the biological effects of mold exposure, particularly among individuals living with chronic inflammatory and neurological conditions. I respectfully encourage HHS to investigate possible relationships between EMF exposure, mold-related illness, neurological conditions, and genetic susceptibility. I would particularly welcome research examining whether certain genetic variations are associated with reported EMF sensitivity and whether these associations can be scientifically validated. I also encourage research into the combined effects of environmental exposures on individuals living with complex chronic illnesses. In addition to my personal experiences, I am the founder and administrator of MOLD/CIRS/LYME/TOXINS Healing and Recovery Group, an international Facebook community with more than 7,200 members representing over 50 countries. Through this community, I raise awareness, share educational resources, and provide support for individuals navigating mold exposure, CIRS, Lyme disease, EMF sensitivity, and other environmental health concerns. I have connected with individuals who report symptoms they associate with EMF exposure. These experiences have reinforced my belief that patients deserve to be heard and that their experiences should help inform future research priorities. My purpose in submitting this comment is to share my lived experience and advocate for greater awareness, independent research, and improved understanding of reported environmental sensitivities. I recognize that my genetic report does not independently establish a medically validated diagnosis of EMF sensitivity. However, I believe my experiences raise important questions worthy of further scientific investigation. Thank you for providing Americans with an opportunity to share their experiences. I sincerely hope continued research will improve our understanding of reported EMF sensitivity, potential interactions with mold exposure, and the challenges faced by individuals living with chronic inflammatory and neurological conditions. Respectfully, Shana Placenti New Hampshire, United States Environmental Health Advocate

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public, wellness consultant and grandmother. It is imperative HHS address the issue of the harms caused by incessant EMF exposure. I had the opportunity to live in a low EMF building an my health and mental emotional well being improved dramatically and also met many individuals who had been damaged by EMF exposure who had heart issues and culd no longer tolerate any exposure without experiencing extreme debilitating symptoms, like tremors, migraines, heart palpitations, dizziness, flu symptoms and more. I fear for the children with phones and ipads and constant exposure at home via smart meters and other smart devices, and at school. Their brains are more vulnerable than adults. The power output on routers can be dramatically reduced without compromising connectivity. We need to switch to fiber optics. We are killing the bees and wildlife with these frequencies. We are destroying our planet for convenience. Please take corrective measre and educate the public in the meantime about protective measures. Tell the FCC to change the allowed frequencies and testing to reflect the new levels of radiation being used. The courts ordered them to di so and they simply disobeyed. Enforcment please. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

The commenter proposes that EMFs could affect health through microbial and fungal responses, metabolites …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
One major gap in EMF research is that we keep asking what electromagnetic frequencies do to human cells while largely ignoring what they may do to the microbes living inside the human body. Humans are not biologically sterile. We carry complex communities of bacteria, fungi, viruses & other microorganisms throughout the gut, lungs, mouth, skin & other tissues. These organisms influence immune function, inflammation, metabolism, neurotransmitter activity, barrier integrity & overall biological stability. If electromagnetic exposure can alter microbial growth, metabolism, oxidative stress responses, gene expression, biofilm behavior or fungal activity, then EMFs may affect human health indirectly as well as directly. That creates a much larger biological pathway: EMF exposure → microbial stress response → altered microbial metabolism & behavior → altered metabolites, inflammatory signaling & oxidative stress → immune dysregulation, neurological effects & systemic illness. This may be especially important with fungi because fungi respond dynamically to environmental stress & are capable of producing powerful secondary metabolites, including mycotoxins. Research should examine whether chronic RF/EMF exposure can influence fungal growth, sporulation, biofilm formation, virulence or secondary metabolite production both inside the human body & within water-damaged indoor environments. The human body should therefore be studied as a complete biological ecosystem, not as isolated human cells. We may actually be looking at two systems being exposed simultaneously: the human host & the microbial ecosystem living within that host. Those systems continuously interact. A relatively weak environmental signal would not necessarily need to directly destroy human tissue to create a substantial biological effect if that signal changes the behavior of organisms capable of replication, communication, biofilm formation & chemical production. This is why HHS should investigate the intersection of bioelectromagnetics, microbiology, mycology, mycotoxicology, neuroscience, immunology & microbiome science. The question should no longer be only: “What do electromagnetic fields do to human cells?” We also need to ask: “What do electromagnetic fields do to the microorganisms living inside us, & what do those microorganisms then do to the human body?” Until that interaction is properly investigated, we may be studying only half of the biological picture.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I live in Denmark. I developed electro-hypersensitivity (EHS) in 2020, when new frequencies were introduced in the country. The municipality where I lived served as a test site for 5G. I experienced headaches, tremors throughout my body, and a sensation of heat on my skin. My eyes would hurt whenever I looked toward a mast, and I felt these adverse effects whenever I drew near one. At the same time, I observed that nature was also reacting to these new frequencies; leaves near the masts and wireless equipment took on autumn colors—turning red, yellow, and brown—in the middle of summer. Simultaneously, the insects disappeared from my garden; the air became completely empty. My symptoms reached a critical point one night when I developed heart problems. I received no help, as I was not believed when I spoke about Wi-Fi and masts. I was forced to move away from that municipality and had to purchase clothing and hats to protect myself. I am now disabled, yet I cannot access any assistance regarding employment or other support, as this disability is not officially recognized in this country. Doctors acknowledge my condition but dare not speak out, fearing repercussions. Since then, I have met many others who share my experience— people living highly isolated lives, unable to obtain any help. A young, exceptionally talented musician who developed this disability died by suicide a few years ago; he could find no support, and his family never acknowledged his condition. He ended his life while staying at a nursing home for the elderly. It is deeply tragic.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public. People are affected by wireless radiation whether they are aware of it or not. It has never been properly studied and should never have been approved for use without proper unbiased safety studies. I believe HHS should address this issue before the planned 6G rollout. I don't believe "technological progress" should be allowed to supersede the health of people and the planet. I have a neighbor who is extra sensitive. Ultimately, he had to move. He surveyed the neighbors within a radius of one block of him. Many had the onset of severe headaches they had not experience before. His dog developed symptoms. Once they both moved 20 miles away, they both recovered from symptoms.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a musician. Although I don't personally notice affects from wireless radiation, I know it is something that should be reduced because I look at studies on bees and small animals that are harmed by wireless radiation. And we don't know how it is affecting the plant world around us. I want to live in the most healthy environment possible, and one step toward that is limiting wireless radiation.
