Recalls community warnings about health problems near electrical facilities and expresses belief in those…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Growing up in South Texas we were always told to never ever live near an electical plant site because of the effects on the body. This was told from one generation to another. There stories of how people that lived around those electrical currents had severe health ailments. I believe them to be true. Just my 2 cents…

Proposes research into molecular torque and chemical reaction changes under environmental 50- and 60-Hz f…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I would like to see research done on the rotational torque applied to electrically polar molecules in the body and the downstream affects of the level of torque achievable at ranges of emf the public may encounter at 50 and 60 Hz. Do chemical reactions speed up? Are there catalytic processes made more efficient by environmental AC fields?

Describes improved sleep in an autistic adult after household wireless reduction, extensive electrical mi…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am the parent of an autistic adult who is fully dependent on my support. She was experiencing significant insomnia. Her heath care provider recommended she hard wire the house, turn off WIFI on the router, and eliminate WIFI and exposure to the cell phone in the bed room. This resulted in much improved sleep, including beginning to dream again. She was exposed beginning in ~2004, and had regular exposure to the cell phone as she did everything on it. The WIFI router was above her sleeping area. She experienced noticeable changes in her sleep which was much improved. It was recommended the house be remediated for EMF, so a building biologist was hired who identified ways to reduce the EMF load in the House. Smart meter was removed, dirty electricity remediation involved switching out fixtures, dimmers on lights were removed throughout the house, installing a sleep switch to turn on electricity in the sleeping areas, stopping electricity coming into the house on the water main, and other interventions. LED lights are NOT in allowed the house to avoid blue light. My doctor considers me EMF sensitive and will write letters to prevent me from unnecessary exposure to EMF. We do not let EMF emitting devices in the house and test the environment regularly with the Safe and Sound meter as new people come into house and new devices or appliances enter house. We relied on the building biologists many studies of harm from EMF exposure AND insomnia was a symptom that regularly was identified as a problem. The bedroom area and the house in general are not in the low EMF on the Safe and Sound meter. Studies can be found at: Regarding scientific support for negative health effects effects of EMF…. and included below in the attached document links to a website and a book. I also included them here, plus attached the color charts: i. The full Bioinitiative 2012 report can be found at: https://bioinitiative.org/table-of-contents/ ii. The attached are color charts below that list studies that looked at the biological effects of low exposure to EMF & is available at https://bioinitiative.org/rf-color-charts/ iii. Requests blood testing during phone use and describes family sleep changes attributed to nearby solar equ…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
you should look at blood work before someone is on a cell phone and while someone is on a cell phone. As for me, our neighbors got solar and we've been gaining weight and it's been hard to sleep their house and their Transformer is about 10 ft away from our bedrooms. When my daughter was a baby she would wake up when anyone on our property would make a phone call. So no one could hear the call being made because someone was just pressing the green call Button on their phone. But she was sensitive and no matter how far away they were from her room or how quiet they were she would wake up every time they push that button if she was napping. So for us we've mostly just noticed how much it affects our sleep and the lack of REM sleep.

Argues that established high-exposure hazards warrant concern about lower-level cumulative exposures from…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
As known and currently regulated to some degree by the f.c.c. on many appliances and expecaly radio transmission towers, EMF and RF radiation can be harmful to the human body in high doses and distances. Seeing as said exposure is already limited by the f.c.c. it is known and acknowledged that high exposure to radio frequency emissions can be extremely disruptive and unsafe for the population. Examples of this energy, though not the main culprit due to its relatively low frequency, can be referenced to the a.m. band antennas, where improper matenence and/or contact can cause severe election and/or death, in the same sense as any high level conductor such as power transmission lines due to the high conductiveity in such examples. With this being said and referencing these examples, the high disruption of the electronic field due to long range RF, EMF, and wireless radio/cell signal transmitters emissions can be and is currently able to be measured. Thus with there already being a measurable emission of this radiation within the visinity of the towers themselves(and at farther distances, thus how this technology works) it could easily be durived that the same effects of those in close proximity to these towers could be found in most places farther away but still within range of transmitters just in smaller doses. This goes for ALL transmitters, not just those previously listed. All of the combined devices that utilize RF technology that are used daily, though already listed and regulated by the f.c.c., create constant and heavy disruption in RF fields, which is documented to have negative overall effects of the health and well-being of the human body in a large variety of ways due to how this form of radiation interacts with specific biological processes. Negitivly impact the quality of lives of people whom are in constant contact with afformentiond transmitters.

Describes prolonged confinement at home because of sensitivity to power lines and towers and argues that …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
**651 days.** That's 1 year, 9 months and 12 days since I've left my house. Why? Because there isn't a street around me without overhead transmission lines or a cell tower either on it or within line of sight. Some people wonder how I remain sane, being such an active person. However, just driving five minutes to the beach — a beach with significant EMF exposure — can set my health back for days. I hope the people reviewing this are at least half as knowledgeable as I am about EMF measurement and monitoring, and have some understanding of just how high our dynamic background magnetic fields can be due to the power grid, along with the microwave radiation exposure from cell towers. The discomfort I experience outweighs any desire to live outside my house, which itself is far from perfect. I see myself as the opposite of *the Electric Man from Serbia*, **Slaviša Pajkić**, who is known for his ability to pass electrical current through his body and perform feats such as cooking a sausage using himself as a conductor. Our standards and regulations don't adequately consider people like me, who report being at the extreme end of sensitivity to these exposures. How did we get here? That's the question I have to repeatedly answer in my consultancy business, to mothers, searching for answers. *The Canary in the Coal Mine*

Summarizes meta-analyses concerning cancer, reproduction and neurological disease and requests precaution…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I. Introduction As an individual consumer and parent, I am submitting this comment to urge regulatory authorities to adopt a strict precautionary framework regarding human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF), radiofrequency radiation (RFR), and extremely low-frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF). While public communications often claim there is "no evidence" of harm from non-ionizing radiation, a rigorous evaluation of the published literature reveals a substantial body of pooled epidemiological and experimental data. To support the need for updated, biology-based safety limits, this submission highlights the quantitative findings of multiple peer-reviewed meta-analyses spanning brain tumors, childhood leukemia, general carcinogenesis, reproductive health, and neurodegenerative decline. II. Summary of Evidence from Peer-Reviewed Meta-Analyses 1. Mobile Phone Radiation & Brain Tumors (Gliomas and Neuromas) Pooled data demonstrates a statistically significant increase in brain tumor risks correlated with long-term or ipsilateral (same-side) mobile phone usage: • Yang et al.: Found that mobile phone use extending to 10 years or more is associated with an elevated risk of glioma. This risk increases for same-side (ipsilateral) use and low-grade glioma. • Hardell et al. Reported that 10+ years of same-side mobile phone use doubled the risk for glioma and more than doubled the risk for acoustic neuroma. • Myung et al.: Identified an overall tumor risk increase for 10+ years of use. Notably, the authors found that methodologically superior, blinded studies clearly identified harm, whereas unblinded studies showed a false "protective" effect. • Wang et al.: Noted that while ever-use was not statistically significant, the data indicated an increased risk trajectory specifically for long-term users. 2. Childhood Leukemia & Magnetic Fields The vulnerability of developing children to ambient magnetic fields is documented in high-scale pooled controls: • Zhao et al.: Analyzing 11,699 cases and 13,194 controls, researchers found that exposure to magnetic fields of 0.4 microtesla or greater (compared to <0.1 yielded a significant risk elevation for leukemia. The risk escalated sharply for acute lymphocytic leukemia. • Wartenberg: Calculated that if an association exists, approximately 175 to 240 childhood leukemia cases per year in the United States could be directly attributed to magnetic field exposure. 3. General Cancer Risks & ELF Fields • Zhang et al.: Aggregated 42 studies (13,259 cases, 100,882 controls) and found a positive association overall. The risk was higher in United States cohorts and notably elevated for residential exposures. 4. Breast Cancer Risk Elevation • Chen et al.: Identified an elevated risk of breast cancer associated with exposure, which rose slightly higher for estrogen-receptor-positive configurations. • Zhao et al.: Found a pooled OR of 1.10 for breast cancer, which increased significantly among premenopausal women. 5. Reproductive Health & Sperm Quality • Adams et al.: Meta-analysis of 1,492 samples demonstrated that mobile phone exposure is significantly associated with a decrease in sperm motility by -8.1% and viability by -9.1%. This effect was consistent across both in vitro experimental setups and in vivo observational studies. • Liu et al.: Confirmed clear biological harm and degradation in in vitro and animal models, though human observational data in their pooled subset remained null. 6. Neurodegenerative Diseases & Occupational ELF-MF Exposure • Jalilian et al.: Found a substantial relative risk increase for Alzheimer’s disease among workers with high occupational ELF-MF exposure. • Huss et al. (Bioelectromagnetic, 2018; PMID: 29350413): Found an elevated risk for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) overall, which jumped sharply for individuals working within electrical occupations. III. Conclusion & Regulatory Recommendation The argument that there is "no evidence" of biological harm from ambient electromagnetic and magnetic fields is contradicted by the extensive epidemiological data compiled above. Regulatory agencies cannot rely solely on short-term thermal absorption models (like SAR) to determine human safety. Because these meta-analyses demonstrate clear patterns of increased risk - particularly regarding chronic, long-term exposure, residential proximity, and early-childhood vulnerabilities - I request that the agency: 1. Implement the Precautionary Principle across all updated safety regulations. 2. Establish lower, biology-based exposure limits that account for non-thermal, chronic biological mechanisms (e.g., oxidative stress, DNA transcription changes). 3. Incentivize and prioritize wired telecommunications and localized power mitigation infrastructure over widespread, high-density ambient wireless radiation. Thank you for reviewing the data and incorporating public health research into your regulatory process. Respectfully, Nina Martin

A parent asks whether nearby electrical towers might relate to a child’s developmental delays and seizure…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am responding as an individual consumer and parent. Our family lived near large electric/cell towers when my second child was born. He was born with developmental delay, auditory processing delay and later we found out, he had seizures. I do not have any proof but always wondered if it was the huge electricity towers near rt 481.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I not only have had problems with being around Wi-Fi signals, I live in a house with high voltage that are 30 feet from my front porch. The put out EMF of a level of 7 mGuass. It causes numbness in my feet and hands. I have dealt with Entergy and they claim that the EMF level is within tolerance. I don’t agree. I have taken the same meter and have been under a high voltage line that run down Hwy 59/I69 in the Kingwood Texas area and I can’t get the meter to read anything but zero. The company that supplies that area is Centerpoint Energy.

Reports symptoms attributed to wireless sources and electric vehicles and requests rigorous susceptibilit…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Comment for the HHS RFI (docket HHS-OASH-2026-0397): I am submitting this personal account in response to HHS’s request for information on potential health effects associated with electromagnetic fields (EMFs), radiofrequency (RF) radiation, and wireless exposure.I experience the following symptoms that I attribute to exposure from wireless sources, infrastructure, and electric vehicles: Cramping in the hands and stomach Sharp pain in the body and muscles Nausea specifically when riding in an electric vehicle Persistent low energy, fatigue, and tiredness Brain fog Anxiety Low heart rate Dissociation Tinnitus These symptoms appear or intensify in environments with higher wireless activity (Wi-Fi, cellular signals, smart meters, 5G infrastructure) and during or after time spent in electric vehicles. Reducing time near these sources or using mitigation strategies sometimes lessens the intensity. I request that HHS carefully evaluate reports of this nature alongside the existing scientific literature. Many individuals describe similar non-specific symptoms that they link to RF/EMF exposure. While major health authorities currently state that controlled studies have not established a causal relationship between exposures below guideline limits and these symptoms, the symptoms themselves are real and can significantly affect daily functioning. Further high-quality research into individual susceptibility, long-term cumulative exposure, non-thermal mechanisms, and practical exposure-reduction measures would be valuable. Thank you for soliciting public input on this issue.
