I suffered greatly from headaches, but we could not find the cause. The headaches just kept getting worse; eventually, I had them day and night. I took a lot of painkillers and muscle relaxants, but over time, they stopped working as well. I felt nauseous, vomited, and couldn't manage to eat much. I tried everything that was suggested, but nothing helped. I was desperate! One day in 1985, I collapsed—my body went into spasms. And I was sent to hospital. I was hospitalised 14 days in the emergency unit in Oslo University Hospital in connection with a total collapse caused by an unknown condition. I was diagnosed with a virus infection of the brain. After 3 months of sick leave, I returned to work and suffered from an acute headache within 5 minutes of entering my office. We discovered the office was built over a transformer: “mystery solved”, it was not a virus infection of the brain, it was a radiation sickness. We were happy to understand the problem. However, my doctor couldn´t help, and the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority told the doctor and me that these electromagnetic fields could not harm my body at all. I was lucky that my boss was an electro-engineer, and he understood very well that an external electromagnetic field (EMF) could interfere with my body’s electric signals. I got a new office, a flat screen monitor (very expensive at that time, but I couldn´t use the old CRT screens because of the radiation) and could continue my work. As I started to search for more knowledge about the radiation sickness - now called electro- hypersensitivity (EHS) - I got in contact with dr. Olle Johansson from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. I have had a good life, but I have to make certain adjustments and take specific precautions. Our family has had to move a couple of times due to external sources (mobile masts). We use wired connections for telephones, PCs, and so on, and we have an exemption from AMS (smart meters). I cannot travel by train—or any other form of public transport, for that matter—because of all the people carrying mobile phones. Since 2001, I have been working within voluntary organizations to help other people who are electro-hypersensitive. I am Secretary General in Citizens´ Radiation Protection in Norway (folkets-stralevern.no) and also President in International EMF Association (iemfa.org).

An electrical engineer describes tinnitus, insomnia and fatigue across several digital-meter replacements…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
2: I am a chartered electrical engineer in the UK, responding as an individual consumer and patient. (I am not representing my professional institution.) The answers below provide a brief summary of my experience in suffering adverse health reactions to digital electricity meters and my personal investigation into the cause. Further details are available here: https://engx.theiet.org/f/discussions/30160/reasons-why-i-suffered-tinnitus-insomnia-chronic-fatigue-and-other-health-problems-after-having-digital-electricity-meters-installed 3a: I've suffered adverse reactions to EFs and EMFs from: • Digital electricity meters, smart or dumb • Broadband routers • Mains LED lighting 3b, c, d & f: I started suffering severe high-pitched (14 kHz) non-pulsatile tinnitus, ear pressure and insomnia 15 hours after smart meters were installed in my home in February 2022. For the next 5 days, I slept no more than 90 minutes per night. The electricity meter was then replaced with another model. When this meter was powered on, my ears each felt an electrical shock. My tinnitus, ear pressure and insomnia improved slightly, but still not tolerable The smart communications module was removed 2 days later, the power company believing I would no longer suffer. Alas, further symptoms developed over the following days and weeks, chronic fatigue becoming the most debilitating, while struggling to get medical help and an analog meter refitted urgently. In July 2022, the company installed an old non-smart digital meter. My tinnitus intensified almost immediately. Another such meter was trialed 3 weeks later. My tinnitus eased, but I developed a migraine 4 days later. I left home and over the next 3 days I recovered from the migraine and chronic fatigue. I returned home, started to feel unwell almost immediately, so I left and recovered again. I returned home on the day this meter was being replaced. Outside, I tingled horribly and instructed my wife to turn off the electricity. The tingling ceased immediately, providing evidence that the household wiring was acting like a transmission antenna. The replacement meter, the same type as the 2nd, caused symptoms similar to those experienced while its counterpart was installed. An analog meter was finally refitted 2 weeks later. I recovered back to around 80% of normal in 1 week. However, tinnitus and insomnia still continue, but these are milder than at any time during my meter ordeal, but they are getting worse as exposure to what has become known as “dirty electricity” increases. Details of symptoms, their approximate timing in relation to meter installations and my actions to mitigate the effects can be found in Attachment 1. 3e: Medical assessments were sought throughout my ordeal. I was only ever diagnosed with tinnitus and a blood pressure problem. All the medics I saw were sadly at a loss to help me. 3g: Attachment 2 contains a list of the scientific evidence I have obtained in full. 5n: Regulators must be fully independent from organizations that manufacture or use equipment that emits RF/EMF for financial gain. 5o: Yes. The cause of my sensitivity, low frequency EMFs, are poorly represented in the available science, despite being considered bio-active. The public understandably have concerns over high frequency mobile communication signals, but few people realize that badly suppressed switched-mode power supplies and inverters can cause debilitating health issues due to their low frequency emissions. 5p: The current use of SAR ignores the characteristics that cause interference with biology at much lower intensities than required for heating body tissue. (Polarization is another characteristic that needs to be considered.) 6: Scientists claim there are over 125,000 pieces of evidence available. 8: Assessment must take into account all characteristics and also real-world conditions where a dwelling or workplace are subject to multiple emitters of RF/EMF. 9: A system to forewarn people of potentially harmful exposure is essential. Currently, sensitive people only find out if somewhere is harmful when they start feeling ill, which is too late. Avoidance is key not just to stay well, but also to prevent sensitivity increasing. 10: New systems must be developed in order to assess the scale of this problem. The medical profession have to take notice of those of us who know we are sensitive. They also need to find out why a minority of people have become highly sensitive in order to prevent the majority becoming so sensitive. 11: Current standards are largely based upon short term tests with a healthy adult male and a few animals. They are highly unsuited for protecting children, females, the elderly and adults with certain medical conditions. 16: Low frequency EMFs: The cost to suppress these frequencies from power supplies and inverters is peanuts in comparison to the cost of healthcare, welfare payments, lost productivity and ruined lives etc.

The commenter reports disorientation in an electric vehicle, increasing RF sensitivity and social restric…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Thank you so much for this opportunity to share with you the effects I have experienced from adverse electromagnetic fields and to share the mitigations I have used to protect myself and others. May this lead to a safer, healthier world. -- financial costs from acting on that conviction. Electric Vehicle I bought at 2017 Bolt EV on January 5, 2018 for $42,428. I love the car! But within several months I realized I was becoming disoriented when driving it. At one point I was lost in my own neighborhood. I had been hearing about the adverse effects of radio frequency (RF), so I purchased an EMFields Acousticom 2, which displays RF in volts/meter. Inside the Bolt, the meter showed red light warnings of 3 to 6 V/m. I turn everything off that seemed a possible cause for that reading but nothing changed. I took the car to the Napa Chevy dealer where the technician was also unable to reduce the RF. He called back to Michigan where they told him that the RF could not be turned off because the car would not work. [Around the house I had started thinking I was getting old because tying my slipper laces had become complicated. After I quit driving the bolt tying my slipper laces once again became quite easy.] For someone who was not as aware as I was, they could have been diagnosed with dementia with the real cause unknown! My brain was much more valuable than the car, so on 8/21/2020 I sold the car for $17,500 losing $24,959 SOLAR In the spring of 2018 I paid $19,350 for the installation of 16 solar panels. The installation included an Enphase solar reporting system with a clever app that would tell you how much each of your panels were producing and when. HVAC Heat pumps are energy efficient heating and cooling systems. In May 2018 I paid for a ducted Fujitsu mini split HVAC system. Between the solar and the HVAC, our PG&E bill was reduced and I was happy we were doing our part to reduce climate change. RF SAFE HOME? BY 2022 I was having adverse reactions to RF. I had done everything I could to create an RF safe home. All of our devices we’re connected via Ethernet. My cell phone was always either off or in airplane mode. An Ethernet adapter allowed me to send email and photos from my phone. Because I have a MacBook I could even send and receive texts from other iPhones. I am grateful for my husband’s understanding and for family and friends who supported me by turning off their phones whenever they came to visit. But my RF sensitivity was getting worse. I was having difficulty tolerating the cell phones and Wi-Fi where we have loved to dance and socialize. For my 80th birthday in 2023, I even paid for the cover charge for 50+ dancers with the ask that everyone keep their cell phones off or in airplane mode. Everyone had a good time, and until then many of the people had no idea that there could be any harm from a cell phone. Thanks to 5G, I was completely unable to tolerate attending our grandson’s football games where my brain would become paralyzed and there was intense pressure in my heart when I was around people who were recording and uploading videos to the internet as they were taking them. BUILDING BIOLOGIST TO THE RESCUE Eric Windheim, a building biologist, did his first assessment here 12/28/23. He immediately discovered our Enphase solar reporting system and our “clean energy” Fujitsu mini split HVAC we’re radiating huge amounts of dirty electricity (DE) which were riding on our 110 electrical wires. As soon the circuit breakers for those two systems were turned off, my whole body felt relief from the tension I didn’t even know I had. The Enphase breakers have remained off, and I was able to confirm, through the PG & E website, that we are getting credit for our solar. The Enphase reporting system is unnecessary. fireplace and electric space heaters. Fortunately, our solar micro inverters we are much cleaner than large central inverters which have caused DE problems in earlier days.

The commenter identifies EMF sensitivity, reports disabling symptoms and relocation following 5G deployme…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
In Spring of 2020 I became very sick! I lived in Beverly Hills and had heard that the roll out of the new 5G technology within the Los Angeles area was happening at that time. I’d heard about the dangers of this new technology about 4 or 5 years prior. As I noticed changes in my body’s health I knew it was from these new frequencies. I had explained the situation and onset of symptoms but your box here said it was too long. So I'm happy to share more details if you want to contact me. Summary: Over the course of a month I had a gradual increase of symptoms from what I believe was this new 5G switch-on. The only way to survive it was to leave town. I tested my theory and it worked, but my symptoms came back when I went back home that day. I knew if I stayed I'd die, so I had to leave town for a long duration. In a sense I became an EMF refugee. Symptoms: Sudden pain in chest, had the instinct to breathe deeply to make sure I was still alive and still breathing (unusual for me) Slow increase in feeling a pressure or constriction in my chest area and lungs. And increasingly labored breathing. Increasingly feeling physically weak and lightheaded. Tingly all over body, almost a buzzing feeling, on my skin and in my muscles and organs, definitely feeling an intense strange external energy all over my body. I began having trouble sleeping. Occasional dry cough, raspy voice. Mild and later increased scattered thinking. Further labored breathing and pain! Decreased feeling of circulation throughout my body. Reduced appetite, and dehydration. Dry and cracking lips. Headaches and reduced tolerance for noise or talking even at low volume. Emotional nervous system breakdown w/ less patience, heavy brain fog. The buzzing turned into a shaky feeling that doesn’t seem to go away 24/7. Turned into eyeballs and teeth buzzing and shaking. ~~ My cell phone is an old iPhone 6S. I didn’t like that they removed the aux jack in subsequent models. Many years before my EMF sensitivity I had an intuitive caution about wireless earbuds; inviting wireless frequencies to come that close to my brain always seemed like a bad idea. I wondered why I hadn’t had many problems using my phone, but when I looked it up, it seems the phone is too old to be compatible w/ this new technology. So even though I had the above extreme reaction to the switch-on of the 5G frequencies, I did not have problems carrying a receiver in my pocket from my phone. The phone does heat up and transfer that heat to my hand if I use it too long. I’m careful not to use it too much, or if I need to, I don’t hold it in my hands. ~~ In Summer of 2023 I was traveling through Austin, TX. I stayed at: Hampton Inn Austin/Oak Hill 6401 US-290, Austin, TX 78735 I had the same buzzing and energy draining experience at this hotel and wrote a 1-star review on Google, linked below. This hotel is right next door to a Substation, as shown in the attached photo taken out the window of my hotel room. I don’t write reviews often, but this needed to be mentioned so others were aware. Couldn't include the link. ~~ Trucks & engines: I’ve had my heartbeat interrupted by the idling engine of large-engine trucks. It also happens as they drive by, but idling seems to be much worse for me. I cannot confirm if it is simply because the engine is stationary and thus I’m getting hit by the frequencies constantly, as opposed to a truck in motion that will increase then decrease as it passes, or if the idling engine produces a slightly different frequency and that is what effects me. It’s also happened with a gas-powered generators (the kind used in Florida during hurricane season). The idling of a powerful engine puts out some frequency that overpowers my heart and causes it to skip beats and almost stop altogether. It’s very scary! I’ve had an EKG and xrays and doctors say my heart looks fine. I KNOW the problem is caused by the frequencies of these powerful engines when I’m nearby. ~~ “Dirty electricity”: I’ve also had similar symptoms from living in a house w/ what’s known as “dirty electricity”. I can also hear it buzzing at ports of machines or outlets. The bedroom I had in this house was by the garage where the entire house’s wiring meets and connects to the breaker-box. The walls and ceiling were just covered in wires from all over the house and I was bombarded by the off-loading of this electricity trail. It was hard living there and I had problems the whole time. Unable to move as immediately as I wish I could have, I bought some Grounding products that helped me Ground the electricity surging through my body; I also actual grounded myself barefoot in the grass. ~~ Many of us have been forced to seek “disconnected” products and ways of life. We need better industry guidelines throughout various industries! We also need education for those who aren’t as sensitive and don’t understand this invisible danger in our midst.

Describes pain and fatigue improving after home electrical and wireless changes, reports repeated persona…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a chronically ill individual dealing with pain and fatigue. In my search for answers to alleviate my pain and exhaustion, I learned about EMFs and how they damage the long-term biological health of our cells and prevent healing according to Dr. Devra Davis, Dr. Martin Pall, and Dr. Deitrich Klinghardt. So I decided to do my own experiment to see if eliminating sources of EMFs would make me feel better. I had 2 certified building biologists come into my home and do an assessment of the current EMFs. I had high levels of magnetic fields due to nearby powerlines, moderate levels of electric fields due to in house wiring mistakes, and extreme levels of wireless radiation in the home (according to Building Biology guidelines) due to wireless devices throughout my home. The building biologist suggested the following: 1) I turn off the electricity at night to combat the electrical fields in certain rooms, 2) I hardwire everything in my home and eliminate all RF and Wireless devices, and 3) obtain a Qi Machine that is suppose to help neutralize the various EMFs and create a more balanced energy field. I did all 3 of these suggested changes, and I had really great results with my severe back pain and overall body aches and fatigue. I still suffer from these ailments, but I went from a 9 out of 10 to a 6 out of 10 by making these changes. I even did multiple experiments where I would take the 3 suggestions and turn them on one night and turn them off the next. The results were consistent and my pain/fatigue would re-surge when I exposed myself to the EMFs, or the pain/fatigue was reduced when I made the changes each night and removed the EMFs as much as I could. I have noticed since I made these changes in my home, I have developed an almost 6th sense to when someone is sending/receiving on their cell phones. I have developed a heightened sense that occurs in my brain when signals are present and close by. This further deepens my experience as these EMFs should really be studied. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of EMFs and specifically, wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard!

Alleges retaliatory smart-meter weaponization, reports sleep and other health problems, and disputes util…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
When Kennedy, via Children's Health Defense (CHD) asked for information about smart meter radiation injury, I sent him all kinds of proof that persons who ask for an analog opt out meter from utility companies who got Smart Grid Investment Grant funding from the Recovery Act Smart Grid Investment Grant are supposed to, by the law, be allowed to have one for free no questions asked. I am myelin injured, similar to gulf war illness, and I am a civic activist. To retaliate against me for writing about how Southern Company/Alabama Power is owned by 中国, as are all of our utitlities and also most all large companies. They have used the meter as a military grade electromagnetic microwave radiation assault weapon against me and my back yard tree. I gave Kennedy contact information for the two men to did the grant and showed them where a document was removed at the DOE when Obama was lame duck. I have an email from the DOE IT contractor, where they finally told me in Dec 2019 they were asked to delete their copy of the document that told about the analog meter opt out. I have struggled with sleep deprivation, and sleep interruption, as well as anemia, foot and leg cramps, and other health problems linked to the dirty electricity and electromagnetic microwave radiation that they continue to flood my small home with non stop. I feel like they are killing me and my tree. I can show you what I sent to Kennedy at CHD. Kennedy's staff at CHD who did the request for smart meter injury information has what I sent to him. I think he is fake and only doing this to try and keep the people who came with him to vote for Trump, to keep them staying with Trump.

Requests measurement and disclosure of low-frequency fields from displays, particularly during children's…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
HHS should treat low-frequency magnetic emissions from televisions and monitors as an exposure, children's programming first. RF limits rest on heating, specific absorption rate, and power density. They do not describe image-driven magnetic pulses in the band that overlaps the electroencephalogram. A set can meet a heating limit and still emit them. Airborne-speaker limits below 20 Hz answer a different question: magnetic fields pass through tissue and do not depend on a speaker cutoff. The source is the display and its electronics, driven by ordinary programs. The field comes from image-intensity changes, power circuitry, and, on older tubes, deflection. Meet the Teletubbies (1:01:43): a soundtrack spectrogram from 0 to 100 Hz, aligned with the picture, showed intermittent and at times dense energy below 50 Hz and below 20 Hz. The strongest sustained cluster below 20 Hz was near minutes 51-54, in insert and outdoor segments. The study does not establish intent or a neurological effect. It is a case for measuring the magnetic field at the set, not only the audio file. FCC RF rules and the IEEE and ICNIRP guidelines center on heating, SAR, and power density. A pulsed field near 1/2 Hz, 2.4 Hz, or the 6-20 Hz calcium window is a different quantity. Public Notice FCC 74-78, 44 FCC 2d 1016 (Jan. 24, 1974), at 47 CFR 73.4250, calls subliminal broadcasts contrary to the public interest whether or not they work, because they are meant to deceive. That covers a hidden message, not a measurement of the receiver's field. 5(n)-(p). Measure time-resolved flux density at stated distances so picture-locked pulses show, and disclose it first for children's programs. Nothing routine asks whether program and display together make pulses in the lab and patent bands. A spectrogram or a heating calculation will not. Sort by frequency, field strength, modulation, pulse pattern, and duty cycle. Distance, daily hours, and years of viewing are what accumulate. SAR and power density miss the field. Adey circle, excised brain, not a child watching television. In chick and cat cerebral tissue, a weak electric sine at 6 and 16 Hz cut calcium efflux about 12-15% in a narrow amplitude window; neighboring frequencies and amplitudes did not. A review put the ELF window near 6-20 Hz and about 10-100 V/m. Carriers at 147 and 450 MHz, amplitude-modulated at 6-20 Hz, raised chick-brain calcium efflux about 15% near 1 mW/cm2; unmodulated carriers did not. The low-frequency pattern was treated as active, too weak to heat tissue by a tenth of a degree. Bawin and Adey, PNAS 1976;73(6):1999-2003. Adey, Radio Science 1982;17(5S):149S-157S. Rat hippocampal slices, 1 Hz sine: 56 and 560 uT rms destabilized intervals of rhythmic slow activity; 5.6 uT did not. The paper ties that rhythm to memory in the slice, not to mood or sleep stage. Bawin et al., Bioelectromagnetics 1996;17(5):388-395. Loos patents claim weak stimuli at resonances near 1/2 Hz (relaxation, sleepiness, autonomic sensations) and near 2.4 Hz (slower counting, eyes closed). U.S. 6,506,148 B2 (Jan. 14, 2003) claims pulsed images on monitors and TV tubes emit weak fields that can excite them, embedded in a program or at an intensity the patent calls subliminal. Also U.S. 5,935,054 (1999), 6,091,994 (2000), and 6,238,333 B1 (2001). A patent is an inventor's claim, not a replication. No current standard tests that display path. https://patents.google.com/patent/US6506148B2 Viewing studies do not isolate a field. JAMA Pediatrics 2024: early program viewing and poorer cognition, r = -0.16 (95% CI -0.24 to -0.08), PMID 39102255. JAMA Pediatrics 2019 (Adelantado-Renau et al.): TV viewing and composite academics, effect size -0.19 (95% CI -0.29 to -0.09), plus language and mathematics, PMID 31545344. Observational and multifactorial (content, sleep, household). They justify measuring the field that travels with the program. They do not prove an electromagnetic cause. Disclosure for parents, schools, childcare, clinicians, and local governments: frequency content, pulse pattern, typical and peak flux density, and picture-lock, comparable across sets. An RF heating statement is not that. Children do not consent and cannot detect the field, and the associations above are in children and adolescents. An adult heating limit does not score a repeated childhood exposure. Publish the triaxial time series at the seat for children's programs, including Teletubbies. Test 6,506,148-type pulsing and Adey-window fields on a pre-registered endpoint, and report a null if that is the result. Say whether equipment authorization already discloses the emission. FDA can require the measurement under 21 CFR subpart J; receivers are electronic products. NIH should separate content from the field. CDC needs a metric other than hours of screen time. Until the data exist, tell parents and schools that the set's field during these programs has not been characterized in these terms.

Presents low-frequency field logs around severe-weather events, acknowledges unresolved sources and confo…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Two logs from one fixed Chicago station bracket the July 27 and Aug. 11, 2026 wind events. They do not record those storms. They record ELF magnetic flux density well above the station baseline and leave artificial induction of ELF unexcluded. HHS is asked to treat the pair as environmental-exposure evidence under Q14 and Q18, and with NOAA to test whether artificially induced ELF was present and bears on severe weather that destroyed homes, leveled trees, and cut power in the Chicago/Indiana region. The logs do not establish weather modification or any causal link. They are the reason to test that possibility against lightning-network data and any ELF records from the days before the damage. Meter: Tenmars TM-192D, triaxial AC, stated passband 30-2000 Hz. It misses the static geomagnetic field and the Schumann fundamental near 7.83 Hz. Same indoor window-adjacent setup. Baseline 0.12-0.15 uT. Ratios use 0.15 uT. July 15-20, before the storms (one photo per sampled day; July 17 and 19 missing): July 15 21:38: 0.334 uT (2.2x). July 16 20:09: 0.468 (3.1x). July 18 ~09:06: 0.598 (4.0x); reported day max 1.60 (10.7x), not a separate photo. July 20 22:12: 0.847 (5.6x); reported day max 2.38 (15.9x), not a separate photo. Photos climb ~0.33, 0.47, 0.60, 0.85 uT (step ratios ~1.4, 1.3, 1.4). "Doubling every day" is the climb against the old baseline, not a factor of two between photos. The rise coincided with Canadian smog. No mechanism or causal link is claimed; no paired air-quality data; wiring not surveyed. Between the logs, NWS Chicago describes two fatal wind events 16 days apart. This station was not logging those mornings. July 27: supercell to compact bow echo; estimated gusts 80-105 mph in parts of DuPage, Cook, and Will (IL) and Lake and Newton (NW IN). Aug. 11: derecho; 70 to locally 100+ mph from NE Illinois into NW Indiana; estimated peaks 100-110 mph in parts of northern Lake and Porter (IN); 99 mph at Gary/Chicago airport. NWS: 8 tornadoes in its area, widespread tree and line damage, outages over two weeks in parts of NW Indiana, one Gary fatality from straight-line winds. Aug. 11 damage was likely worsened by injury from July 27. Aug. 18-19, seven days later, a different weather system. 43,449 samples at ~1 Hz, Aug. 18 21:08:54 CDT to Aug. 19 09:13:08 CDT (12.07 h). Evening pulses to 0.667 uT at 21:15:23 CDT matched convection over southern Lake Michigan; the median floor then returned to ~0.15 uT while multi-axis pulses continued. Session max 1.171 uT at 07:51:51 CDT, ~15 s above 0.85 uT. The 08:55-09:12 window peaked at 0.418 uT. 14:00Z radar for ZIP 60640 shows the metro clear; remaining rain was hundreds of km away. Grid and appliance noise remain confounds and more often raise a floor than a 15-second three-axis burst. Exotic ELF induction may be present; no transmitter, operator, or purpose is identified, and it is not treated as fact. 1.171 uT is 0.59% of the ICNIRP 2010 public reference of 200 uT rms (25-400 Hz). July peaks are still ~1%. No exceedance is claimed (Health Physics 99(6):818-836, 2010). IARC 2B concerns chronic 50/60 Hz averages near 0.3-0.4 uT. The 12-hour mean was 0.187 uT; some pulses reach that band. This is not a dose survey or a health assessment. A 1-second fixed magnetometer plus radar can show a baseline, a climb, a pulse, and a radar-quiet continuation. It cannot name a source. Still needed: a lightning overlay on the Aug. 18-19 pulses (especially 03:44, 07:51:51, and 08:55-09:12 CDT); any other magnetometer files for July 27 and Aug. 11; orientation, passband, and at least 2.5 readings/s; more than one station; paired air quality if the smog coincidence is studied. RF monitoring will not see a 30-2000 Hz magnetic pulse. The comment asks whether any federal system archives ELF magnetic fields, and whether a small archive should sit with weather radar. Nothing here shows these fields changed the weather. ELF at one station rose by roughly tenfold above a documented baseline in the weeks before two rare ~100 mph wind events, and a week later the session maximum occurred on clear local radar. Artificial induction aimed at that destruction is a hypothesis to test, not a finding. Test it with a lightning overlay, other magnetometers from July 27 and Aug. 11, and a physical account of whether a field of this size and band can couple to a storm. Publish an exclusion if one is earned. Asks: (1) Accept ELF logs below the ICNIRP level under Q14 and Q18. (2) Ask NOAA and NWS Chicago to reanalyze July 27 and Aug. 11 with any ELF records, and match the Aug. 18-19 file to a lightning network. (3) Ask CDC and state health offices to keep the injury, death, and outage burden in view, without assuming a field mechanism. (4) State what measurement would confirm an artificial ELF source and what would retire it. (5) Keep the limits: smog is only co-occurrence; the meter did not act on the weather; neither file is the derecho.

Requests research on low-frequency fields reaching sleepers and shielding placement, describes subjective…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I ask HHS to study shielding against extremely-low-frequency fields that reach a sleeper from below, including fields that may be targeted, and to publish which materials and placements actually reduce that exposure. In the nights beginning September 20, 2026, I woke with a feeling of hopelessness and despair that was present before the thoughts and dreams that agreed with it. A copper–nickel mesh cloth left the feeling unchanged when I used it as a cover. The same cloth was associated with relief when it lay under my back, between my spine and the bed. The trial was subjective and unblinded. I have no magnetic-field measurement of those nights. People I know in Florida described a similar feeling on waking over roughly the same week. I cannot tie their reports to my room. The published work I consulted, Adey and the Loos patents, does not report hopelessness. It does report that weak fields in bands overlapping sleep-related rhythms can reach physiological systems at levels that do not heat tissue. A thin conductive cloth is not a shield against a slowly varying magnetic field. Families have no tested guidance for a source under the bed (ground / terrestrial based.) That is the gap.

Reports low-frequency magnetic readings near a gateway and changes in morning motivation after equipment …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Residential Wi-Fi is discussed in this docket as a radiofrequency source. The exposure I logged at an Xfinity gateway was the extremely-low-frequency magnetic field, and I made no radiofrequency measurement at all. Over months, a TM-192D meter about 4 feet 6 inches from the modem showed a recurring morning elevation around 10:00 a.m. CST, typically 15–20 mG (about 1.5–2.0 µT), sometimes held near that level for on the order of an hour, lined up with the time I woke. Those mornings were when motivation was worst. After the modem's own Wi-Fi was turned off and a low-power Wi-Fi bridge was put in its place, a spot check read 0.127 µT, the morning peaks did not return, and the report describes four years of lower readings and of waking with ordinary drive, through March 2026. There was no controlled re-exposure. I ask HHS to treat the ELF magnetic field of the gateway as part of Wi-Fi exposure, to require time-of-day disclosure of that field, and to test simple equipment changes as a way to reduce it.
