I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. As someone who started to suffer from chronic, unexplainable headaches around the time our electric company began wireless energy usage transmissions--without our knowledge, I would like some answers. We need thorough research to be certain this technology does not pose a threat to our health. We are energetic beings, and to reject out of hand that these technologies could affect our biology is both myopic and foolhardy. I am an adult, who albeit very well may be more sensitive than most, but what about children's developing brains, or migratory wildlife that relies on magnetic fields to complete their journeys? I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard and for leaving no stone unturned in the endeavor to safeguard our health from any potentially harmful technology.

Hey There HHS, You requested public comments about “Wireless Radiation,” Wireless Technology and the subcategories that go with it… So my comment is below… I am a private citizen, writing with concern for my health and my communities health. My life would be socially more abundant if the telecom companies, and our entire country, would get rid of all wireless technology. I live in multifamily housing. I have no control over my neighbor’s use of wi-fi or where they place their routers and other remote devices. Friends have refused to visit me b/c the EMF’s(R’s) in my home are so intense they cannot relax. Probably why my sleep is terrible even though my router, cell phone and PC are off. I cannot hold my cell and talk w/o my hand going numb. Also, I’ve met people who become exhausted and/or get migraines from smart meters and/or wi-fi. BTW my old dial-up phone and answering machine, had significantly clearer sound quality than most all cellular, or cordless landline phones. I lived for decades without a cell phone and it wasn’t a problem. Although, I’m not as overtly abused as some people are, and probably I haven’t noticed all the harm wireless technology is doing to me, I’m still annoyed and seriously concerned about our collective mental, emotional and physical health. Therefore, I am asking HHS to broadly and deeply investigate the damage wireless tech is doing to humans, non-human animals including bees, and plants. Thank You

Hello, Thank you for this opportunity to express my EMF health symptoms and concerns. I am EMF sensitive, it has become difficult to go into stores because there is so much elecrtomagnetic wave energy. The EMF makes me very tired, light headed and unballenced. If I go into a big box store I experiience brain fog and forgetfulness. It didn't used to effect me but I believe it has gotten so much worse in the last few years. It makes my skin itch and makes me tired however I don't sleep well. I would like to replace my household smart meter for an analog meter. I did not have all these issues when at least my house had the analog electric meter. When I go out my cell phone is put on airplane mode or turned off. I turn off the router and WIFI at night, these steps help a little. But the world is now toxic with all the cell towers and transmissions. Please update the studies and laws for EMFs, RF Radiation and Wireless Radiation.

Wireless radiation in my house was causing sleeplessness, so I had my power company (PG&E) take away the smart meter and now they send a human being to read the analog meter every month. Yes, they charge a small monthly fee to read the meter manually, but it is worth it to us because our health is improved. We are concerned that the new G5 may start causing issues, but we haven't had any bad experiences as of this moment. We have spent lots of money to minimize the ill effects of EMF/eSmog in our house, computer monitors and cell phones. These devices all have stickers meant to minimize the exposure to the bad radiation. In depth studies should be executed to determine what ill effects are actually caused by all the radiation we are exposed to in our daily lives. We know we can't trust the cell phone or internet service providers to study that in an impartial way, so it is up to the government to do the job. I am responding from the perspective of a concerned American citizen. Wireless radiation has affected you personally as I have a brain condition (congenital) and I have a VP shunt implanted in my brain. Living with a shunt for 52 years has not been fun but since we were forced to put smart meters in our homes, I suffer from debilitating headaches, poor sleep and general malaise. Additionally, within six months of my home being forced to be fitted with a smart meter, I was in the hospital having a new shunt implanted (my previous shunt was with me for 34 years!) I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Due to Electro-magnetic Sensitivty, I cannot be on the computer long to give the excruciating details but in a nutshell, when "smart" meters started being installed in the town homes just across the fence from where my kids and I lived, the EHS for me spiked intensefly. It was coming through electrical and/or phone (landline) lines. When later we moved to a new place not far from the police station in downtown Berkeley, with its huge cell antenna, it worsened. As 5g infrastructure started to be installed right outside the window, my vision started deteriorating quickly. Then COVID and two of my young adult kids and I all living in a small 1 br. apartment. One working for a school had to be on Zoom in the kitchen while the other had to be doing his college classes via Zoom, and I, a professional Homeoppth, was sitting on Zoom for patientf ollow-ups and I was sitting at our table in the path of the antenna's effects. My retina a macula have been wrecked, and I've lost my ability to make a living has been killed as I now am blind with just a bit of residual viaion but losing more and more over time. My computer is wired but still I cannot be on it for long in a sitting. My life has been dramatically impacted just so ever-greedy people can haev faster internet. It's the faster faster faster society that is causing so much harm. Effects of EHS include the blood sugar issues and blood pressure issues I face. But few doctors understand that all this radiation is causing these abnormalities and want to blame us for what we're facting and when we point out what we do know, we're gaslit. Wireless all around us all the time is killing people (literally). Stop this inhuman march forward at all our expense. Thank you.

I am writing to give personal feedback to HHS on wireless radiation exposure. I am a concerned member of the public, an individual who has been labeled ‘a canary in the coal mines, and I react negatively around EMF and RL. When I look at a screen my eyes squint and start to burn and when I hold a cellphone in my hand, my arthritis flares up. When a smart meter was installed on the home of my sister in law, she started experiencing heart problems that went away when the meter was removed. It is time for the government to look at potential health effects on people and establish a priority to lower the radiation allowed in these products. Thank you for looking into this matter as the world is being blanketed with more and more unhealthy radiation and we the people are getting sicker from it. Diane

I moved into a city apartment in August 2014 completely healthy. By 2017, I started having weird neurological problems such as dizziness and feeling off balance. I noticed that when I went on vacation and didn't stay in my apartment that I felt better and then we I came back home, it got worse again. I ended up getting worse and developing terrible vertigo by 2018 and started seeking treatment in 2019. I was diagnosed with vestibular migraine and started vestibular rehab in 2020. I decided to have an electromagnetic radiation specialist come and do some readings with radiofrequency meters on my apartment because I noticed that several cell phone antennas were added to my apartment building in 2017 after looking at my address year by year in google earth. This is also right around the time that smart meters were added. I found that a cell phone antenna was added 30 feet from my apartment window. Several other cellphone antennas were added to light poles in the perimeter surrounding my apartment building and the craziest thing of all is that giant cell phone antennas were added to the roof of my apartment building. I ended up mitigating my apartment the best I could because I wasn't in the position to move yet. I had radiofrequency blocking window film put on all of my windows and I now sleep in a shielded canopy to help me not be exposed at night. I also wired all of my computers and devices. So I have gotten better, but I am still not 100% like I was before 2017 so now I am building a new house from scratch in a lot I found with a hill behind it that basically blocks the radiofrequency so my house has no cell phone reception. My new build will be done by the end of this year so I am excited to move in and hopefully finally let my body heal from the past 10 years of too much radiofrequency exposure.

I suffer from what has been called EMR-syndrome, electromagnetic radiation syndrome. When I am near anyone using a cellphone or in an area where the WiFi is at a high level, I suffer from dizziness, light-headedness, heart palpitations, feelings of intense anxiety and afterwards, intense exhaustion. For every hour that I am in WiFi, I need at least an hour-long nap, sometimes two. For this reason, I no longer go to church, or to concerts or plays. I do not volunteer in the community or go to the gym. I do not eat in restaurants. I never travel, for airports are the worst (after hospitals). When my husband is in the hospital (five times last year), I can only be with him for 45 minutes at the most. I come home exhausted. I cannot fly to see my children and grandchildren, nor go to the weddings or funerals of family members. I am safe in my home. I hired a building biologist to go through my entire home, looking for high levels of radiation, magnetic fields, and dirty electricity. She gave me explicit, detailed recommendations which I follow "religiously." I live a very secluded life, unable to enjoy the benefits of living in a vibrant community. When I go out into "Wifi-land" (which is virtually everywhere), I have to wear special clothing with silver threads woven through the fabric and hats with silver lining. I pay hundreds of dollars for these pieces of clothing (e.g., $277 just for a tailor-made camisole). I am unable to travel to any foreign country. I do not own a cellphone. I have an ethernet cable for my laptop. I have no microwave. I opted out of smart meters (and pay extra for having done so). I know only one person in the whole world who doesn't own a cellphone (besides my husband).

I have been affected by a smart meter, suffering extremely bad headaches, that didn't go until I had the reader removed. Also I notice that if I am on my phone or laptop for a long time, I feel dizzy.
