Describes severe illness with multiple possible exposures, reports symptom changes after wireless reducti…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
September 30, 2026 I am submitting this response as an individual reporting my firsthand experience with wireless/RF exposure and changes in my health and functioning that I have observed over many years. For most of my life I was healthy. I went to college and graduate school, had part-time jobs, and then taught high school in Texas from 2012-2017. And then I got sick. There had been some warning signs, including migraine (starting 2014) and fatigue, but the illness became so severe and seemed to come out of nowhere in 2015. I saw 52 doctors over two years. None could determine what was happening or offer an explanation for the severity of my symptoms, and the primary treatment offered was various pharmaceuticals. Looking back, I see that several environmental exposures were occurring at the same time. I was working in a school where our classrooms were under a gym. A coworker across the hall had visible mold in his room. The spring before I became severely ill (2015), the Wi-Fi router in the building was upgraded and placed directly outside my room. The building I moved into to live had more than 50 floors and antennas on the roof, and was across the street from a hospital with its own antennas. Hundreds of people lived in the building, with their own routers, cell phones, and other wireless devices. I cannot determine which exposures contributed to my illness, or to what degree. However, over the years I began noticing a consistent relationship between reducing my wireless exposure and changes in specific symptoms. For example, health professionals have informed me that mycotoxins (which I have high levels of) are increased by EMF exposure, and that heavy metals in the body (which I have high levels of) are made worse by EMF exposure. This is an additional concern that other health concerns are made worse by EMFs. When I was staying with friends while trying to find suitable housing (2017-2020), I asked them to turn off the Wi-Fi router at night. I noticed a significant improvement in my sleep. I also told my cardiologist about my observations when I was undergoing a Holter monitor evaluation for heart palpitations. I had noticed that the palpitations were worse when the Wi-Fi was operating. I subsequently began reducing my wireless exposure wherever possible. I use wired Ethernet connections for my computer and phone, keep devices in airplane mode when possible, and not using Bluetooth devices. My overall health remains poor, but I continue to notice exacerbation of my symptoms with increased wireless exposure. I can often tell without looking at my phone whether it is transmitting or in airplane mode because I experience an intense frontal headache when it is transmitting. I have also experienced a significant change associated with the cell tower nearest my home. When the tower underwent an upgrade (2026), I experienced a substantial increase in headaches, migraines, head pressure, fatigue, and brain fog. These symptoms have affected my ability to function in daily life. I am currently exploring ways to reduce my exposure while sleeping, but remain exposed during most of the day. My experience has left me concerned about the cumulative and largely unavoidable nature of wireless exposure in modern life. I live in a rural area and have deliberately reduced wireless technology in my home, yet I cannot eliminate exposure because of nearby infrastructure and wireless signals in the surrounding environment. I feel like the canary in the coal mine: someone who experiences significant effects that may be associated with exposure levels that most people encounter without apparent difficulty. I do not claim to know what mechanism explains my experience or what conclusions should be drawn from it. I am asking that experiences such as mine be taken seriously as information worthy of investigation. I believe research should examine not only exposure levels under controlled conditions, but also real-world cumulative exposure, changes in exposure over time, individual variability in response, vulnerable populations, and what happens when individuals reduce their exposure. People should also have meaningful information about the wireless infrastructure and sources of RF exposure in and around their homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.

Reports EMF sensitivity, palpitations and headaches with phone use, and objects to landline loss and mand…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I hope these comments will make a difference. Once there was a roll out of 5G I noticed when holding my phone my heart would do fip flops or a-fib. I can't hold a phone for extended period of time or i nod off will cell phone in hand also I felt really edgy and anxiety at times. Also was getting headaches. They forced me to quit using my 3G phone cause they forced an upgrade. Also now there is a big push to get rid of landline phones. I have one cause I am sensitive to emf's.. They say you can keep your phone number but it shows people sitting next to routers. How crazy is that. They are forcing smart meters and putting them in peoples homes. Alot of people this s by their bedroom walls. This is unconstitutional forcing people to have smart meters that give off EMF's. This is more about good verses evil and money is the route of all evil.

Reports persistent symptoms after smart-meter installation and pervasive involuntary exposure, describes …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
The FCC's human exposure limits have not been updated since 1996 when people were using flip phones and many people like me didn't even have a cell phone yet. Cell phones today are like giant computers packed into a tiny powerful handheld devices and we have 5G cell towers, Smart meters, Smart appliances, watches and wearables, Ipods, etc This situation alone should be enough for HHS to dig into the decades of research on biological harm going all the way back to the 1970s from our own US military. We have never had an agency with any type of health expertise regulating this industry, Here is my story: In 2017, I was acutely injured by a Smart meter that was attached to my home without my knowledge or consent. One day I was a perfectly normal healthy person, and the next day I had all these strange and serious symptoms like headaches, dizziness, heart palpitations, inability to sleep, constant fatigue, increased gut and joint pain, terrible tinnitus, and overwhelming anxiety for no reason at all. I felt like I was being physically and mentally tortured whenever I was in my own house. The acute symptoms subsided when I was able to opt-out and get the Smart meter removed from my home, but the chronic symptoms persist to this day and I deal with most of these (tinnitus, dizziness, terrible fatigue, poor sleep, daily gut and joint pain, and high blood sugar readings despite daily exercise and my low carb, low sugar Paleo diet) every day and they increased even more when the highspeed fiberoptics were laid under the streets and the 5G cell towers erected above ground in my neighborhood during Covid. I have 185 cell towers and antennas within a 3 mile radius of my home and surrounded on all sides in my neighborhood by close range 4G/5G cell towers 1/3 mile away from my house. Even though I had my Smart meter removed when I was injured in 2017, the Smart meters on all my neighbor's homes on the 1/4 acre lots surrounding me are all emitting pulsing radiation 24/7. Even though I am hardwired through my cable lines and connections and the ethernet cords and adaptors throughout my house, I am still exposed to all the wireless radiation coming from my neighbor's Wi-Fi routers. Even though I had an electrician install three switches connected to my electric box so I could turn off all the electricity to my bedroom at night, I am still being adversely affected by the EMFs coming from the high voltage power lines going right through the center of my village two blocks from my house. You see because of the ubiquitous nature of wireless radiation today, I am being forced to live in a toxic soup of microwave radiation 24/7 that is causing oxidative stress to every cell of my body and causing all kinds of harmful health effects that destroy my quality of life, increase my risk of cancer, and reduce my life expectancy. These are all involuntary exposures with NO informed consent for me or my family members who are also being adversely affected even though they don't feel the harm like I do. In addition, every time I go into public places like my schools, my church, retail stores, restaurants, movie theaters, my local coffee shop, and especially airports when I have to fly, I am being blasted by both public WiFi and cell phone radiation coming from all the people scrolling and searching on their cell phones all around me (not to mention all the cell towers surrounding the buildings).. It's very hard for me to even stand in line at the store these days with people on either side of me and how powerful the new cell phones are. I am urging you to please consider the ubiquitous nature of all of these sources of wireless radiation (cell towers, Smart meters, cell phones, WiFi routers, Smart TVs and appliances, watches and wearables, Air pods and Smart devices, electric vehicles and charging stations, solar panels, and now monstrous AI Data Centers) and how they are exposing us to a toxic soup of microwave radiation 24/7 that we can't escape from anywhere anymore. Please use my personal experience and the thousands more you will receive along with the 10,000 pages of scientific studies of evidence of biological harm to humans and the environment to update the FCC's RF radiation exposure limits. This is the biggest environmental toxin we are facing in America right now and contributes to all of the chronic diseases that are destroying our children and bankrupting our nation (diabetes and obesity, infertility, dementia and Alzheimers, Autoimmune disease, Autism Allergies and ADD, Cancer). This is also national security threat and must be halted until new, real safety controls and updated human and environmental exposure limits are enacted and put in place. Thank you for urgent attention and action on this long overdue threat to American health, happiness, and liberty. I'm grateful RFK Jr is in charge of Health for all Americans and all our children because I know he cares and things are finally going to change!!

Reports sensitivity following smart-meter exposure, subsequent housing, employment and travel limitations…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a parent and concerned member of the public. In 2012 I was exposed to high levels of microwave radiation from two smart meters which were installed directly ont he exterior wall of my bedroom. I experienced a number of symptoms which included: brain fog, fatigue, whole body irritability, dizziness, and a squeezing pressure in my head. I was forced to move out of my apartment and seek alternative housing. This exposure has developed into a sensitivity i didn't have prior to that exposure. Wether or not the utility meters are technically "smart" meters or not is besides the point. They emit high levels of pulsed radiation 24/7. Now, 13 years later, I am living in a house with my wife and two daughters. We don't use wifi(we use ethernet) and we use our cell phones very conservatively. Over the years following my exposure I was pushed out of a number of different jobs becasue I couldn't tolerate the environment. Traveling anywhere via buses, trains, airplanes is very difficult. I work as a private contractor practicing a type of physical bodywork( Structural Integration/ myofascial work) which requires me to rent space for sessions. I am very limited in my options because of either a cell tower placed too close to the building, a banck of smart meters on an adjacent building or wall, or too many smart devices, etc. It's not that I cannot be around wireless radiation at all. i can. It all depends on the proximity and strength of the source. I want to be clear. I did not suffer from this condition prior to my exposre to smart meters in 2012. In fact, I used my cell phone and connected my laptop to wifi frequently. I didn't think anything of it. After figuring out what was causing my symptoms( I was lucky enough to hear someone else talking about it) I started looking into the effects of wireless radiation on biological health. There are 1000's of studies showing harm from exposure to wireless radiation. I am very grateful and hopeful that the HHS will take the necessary steps to consider the evidence and take appropriate action to upgrade and enforce proper regulations and exposure limits. I've attached some files as evidence of action taken by other countries and as evidence of biological harm from wireless radiation. I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

Describes environmental sensitivity and isolation, questions cumulative exposure and planning oversight, …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Dear HHS Team, I have been active in Australia fervently raising awareness of cumulative dirty energy, or electrosmog caused by a cacophony of frequencies that disturb our bioelectrical systems. We begin to wonder if not convinced that most of this irregularity of negative frequency may well be deliberate after the last 6 years of the covid bioweapon debacle. I will attach a letter I wrote my local councilors in regards to the lack of cumulative studies and quick permit approvals that are apparently outside jurisdiction of the councils that are meant to abide by Health and Well Being in their planning and by the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 which is state law in Victoria. I am on the ANRES Australian National Register of Environmental Sensitivities. I do not lead a normal life and I am forced to live in relative solitude in tranquil surroundings to stay out of EMF as much as I possibly can. You will see the evidence for lack of jurisprudence in terms of public health that a Precautionary Principle ought to have been applied as many countries have done. Why in two of the most advanced western countries, Australia and US is this not applying. There are many alternatives to EMF tech that includes the fibre optic tech that would mean electricity running through wires not putting immense pressure on our bodies and especially harm to our brain via wireless neural linked tech. Sincerely Kerryn Bennett Please find attached two letters to local council. A mentioned BioInitiative Report is dated 2012 but this is an exceptional report and warrants reading by the HHS. The link is in the first council letter. The Summary International EMF Scientist Appeal letter Additional references to Planetary Electromagnetic Pollution

An environmental-health practitioner reports sleep and pregnancy experiences, cites a Wi-Fi sleep pilot s…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Submission to Docket HHS-OASH-2026-0397: Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields, Radiofrequency Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure Submitted by: Dr Nicole Bijlsma, PhD, Environmental-Health Educator and Researcher, Melbourne, Australia I am writing as a researcher, educator and practitioner who has spent the past 25 years assessing homes for environmental-health hazards. I have also been personally affected by EMF exposure. I developed persistent sleep problems within 2 weeks of moving into our first home. I eventually realised (after 7 years and ten miscarriages - no explanation was provided by the medical industry and we didnt qualify for IVF), we were sleeping adjacent to the meter panel. I purchased a triple axis digital gauss meter and found elevated AC magnetic fields on the bed during the early hours of the morning (when the hot water system was in use). We consequently relocated to another bedroom - sleep improved and I successfully carried a twin pregnancy to term. The fix was simple and cost nothing. I subsequently established the Australian College of Environmental Studies in 1999, and have spent the past 25 years teaching students how to undertake home assessments for mould, electromagnetic fields, allergens and toxicants. Poor sleep is one of the most common complaints I see where EMF exposure is a factor. The two sources I find most often are: radiofrequency radiation from Wi-Fi routers and wireless-enabled devices kept in or near bedrooms, often running all night; and AC magnetic fields from meter panels, switchboards and wiring, including where smart meters are installed on the other side of a bedroom wall. Reducing exposure in the bedroom is frequently followed by reports of better sleep. Typical steps are moving the bed, switching off Wi-Fi at night and using wired connections. I subsequently undertook a PhD in environmental medicine (RMIT) examining the impact of environmental exposures to toxicants and manmade electromagnetic fields, gaps in current exposure standards, and the associated health effects. My dissertation, which asks whether radiofrequency radiation affects sleep, is attached in support of this submission. This involved the first real-world study (double blind, randomised, placebo controlled pilot study) on the impact of a Wi-Fi enabled device on sleep in healthy adults using a baby monitor which was statistically significant (within 7 days). Current exposure standards are designed to prevent short-term heating and nerve stimulation which do not reflect real-world exposure. They do not adequately address chronic, low-level, night-time exposure in the home, which is when the body should be resting and repairing. Nor do they account for vulnerable groups such as children, or those impacted by mould who frequently become sensitive to manmade electromagnetic fields and toxicants. Recommendations Remarkably, the most effective measures are simple and cheap: Design-stage solutions. Building codes and planning guidance should require meter panels, switchboards and smart meters to be located away from bedrooms and living areas. They should also encourage hard-wired data connections in new homes. These measures cost almost nothing when planned in at the design stage, but are expensive to retrofit. Mass consumer education. The public needs clear, independent and practical guidance on reducing exposure, particularly while sleeping. This includes turning off Wi-Fi at night, keeping devices out of bedrooms and checking what is behind the bedhead. A precautionary approach. Exposures should be kept as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA), and research and surveillance on sleep and other non-thermal effects should be funded. These recommendations are consistent with the Australian Senate Inquiry into Electromagnetic Radiation (2001) (attached). The Chair's report called for a rigorous precautionary approach to wireless technology, for emissions to be kept as low as reasonably achievable, and for clear, independent public information so people can make informed choices. Twenty-five years on, those recommendations are more relevant than ever. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute.

A self-described naturopathic physician reports personal EMF sensitivity and similar patient accounts, de…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am a licensed Naturopathic Medical Doctor, Medical Director and Owner of Regenerate Health Medical Center in Santa Barbara, California. Environmental medicine is an important part of my clinical work, and I have worked with patients who report symptoms affected or exacerbated by EMF and wireless radiation exposure. This issue is also deeply personal to me. I am very sensitive to EMF and RF exposure. My concern developed through my own experience, my clinical work with patients, and years of continuing education and investigation into environmental exposures and their effects on human health. My reactions can be immediate. When I am around high levels of RF exposure (measured in microwatts per square meter), including from cell towers, Wi-Fi, or prolonged cell phone use, I develop headaches. With longer exposure, I can experience dizziness and nausea. These experiences have substantially changed how I live. I rarely leave my cell phone connected during the day. I turn it on when I need to check messages or use it for a specific purpose, then return it to airplane mode. My family and I have also gone to considerable lengths to reduce exposure in our home. We use hardwired Ethernet rather than Wi-Fi and avoid Bluetooth and wireless devices. We use dirty electricity filters and an EMF kill switch so we do not sleep in an electrical field. Our solar panels were intentionally placed only over non-sleeping areas. We also use graphite-based shielding paint and EMF-blocking window film. These choices require time, expense and planning. We make them because I can personally tell the difference. That experience also affects how I practice medicine. At Regenerate Health Medical Center, we take environmental exposures seriously when evaluating persistent or unexplained symptoms. We consider the environment in which a patient lives, sleeps, works and attempts to heal. I have encountered patients who report symptoms associated with EMF exposure or worsening of existing symptoms in higher-exposure environments. Their experiences deserve serious investigation rather than automatic dismissal. My perspective is therefore both personal and clinical. I know what it is like to experience these symptoms myself, and I also know what it is like to sit across from patients describing similar concerns. When patients repeatedly report changes in symptoms associated with their environment, physicians should be encouraged to investigate those patterns, not taught to disregard them simply because our understanding of the exposure is incomplete. I am particularly concerned by how difficult these exposures are to control. People can filter their water, remediate mold or stop using a particular chemical. Wireless radiation can come from neighboring Wi-Fi, cellular infrastructure, smart meters, schools, workplaces and public spaces. Even inside your own home, substantially reducing exposure requires actively working against how modern technology is designed. HHS should take a serious and independent look at this issue. People reporting sensitivity to wireless radiation should be documented and studied. Clinicians observing patterns among environmentally sensitive patients should be heard. Research should examine potential biological effects beyond tissue heating and investigate chronic, cumulative, real-world exposure from multiple sources. I also urge HHS to investigate potentially susceptible populations, including children and people reporting electromagnetic hypersensitivity, and study whether reducing exposure is associated with measurable changes in symptoms, sleep, autonomic function and relevant biological markers. As a physician, I want better answers for my patients. As someone who personally experiences symptoms with higher EMF exposure, I want those experiences taken seriously and investigated. And as someone whose family has gone to considerable lengths to create a lower-EMF home, I want Americans to retain the ability to make meaningful choices about their exposure. HHS has an opportunity to examine this question through the lens where it belongs: human health. Please listen to patients, families, clinicians and researchers raising these concerns. Fund rigorous research reflecting modern exposure conditions, investigate those who report particular sensitivity, and give Americans better information and greater ability to make informed decisions about their exposure. Thank you for giving those of us who have experienced this issue personally and clinically an opportunity to be heard.

Describes severe symptoms and self-reported electromagnetic sensitivity, improvement after reducing home …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to ET Docket No. 13‑84. I am writing to share my personal history with electromagnetic sensitivity and the profound impact radiofrequency (RF) exposure has had on my health, daily functioning, and ability to participate in normal life. I have always loved technology. For many years, my office was equipped with multiple wireless devices: DECT cordless phones, a wireless headset, a Wi‑Fi router on my desk, a cell phone with an ear device, and other equipment that produced continuous radiofrequency emissions. Prior to that, I worked for several years on the 18th floor of a building while employed by the District Attorney’s Office, where microwave dishes were mounted directly above my workspace. I cannot say whether that contributed to the onset of my condition, but it was part of my long-term exposure history. Over time, I became increasingly ill and did not understand why. I developed severe fatigue, pain, and debilitating symptoms that left me bedridden for nearly two years. Physicians told me it was fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome, but none of the treatments helped, and no one could explain the cause. I also developed persistent tinnitus, which I still live with today. Eventually, after extensive searching and consultation, I learned about electromagnetic sensitivity. A building biologist evaluated my home and found significant wireless radiation from my router, DECT phones, and high levels of dirty electricity surrounding my workspace and bedroom. Once these sources were removed or mitigated, my symptoms improved enough for me to function again. Today, my home is fully hardwired. I use Ethernet instead of Wi‑Fi, I have installed a kill switch to turn off electricity around my bedroom at night, and I am extremely careful with my cell phone use. Even with these precautions, I remain highly sensitive to radiofrequency exposure in public places. The ubiquity of wireless devices, cell towers, and Wi‑Fi networks makes it difficult for me to leave my home. I am effectively homebound because of the widespread RF emissions in the community around me. This is not just a personal challenge — it is a public health issue. Wireless infrastructure is proliferating at a pace that far exceeds any precautionary approach. Small cells, 5G and 6G systems, dense Wi‑Fi networks, and satellite‑based RF sources are being deployed without meaningful consideration of long-term, cumulative exposure or the needs of people who are already electrically sensitive. For individuals like me, there is increasingly no place left to go. Public spaces, medical facilities, transportation systems, workplaces, and even residential neighborhoods are saturated with continuous RF emissions. The lack of low‑EMF environments or accommodations effectively excludes people with electromagnetic sensitivity from participating in society. HHS asked specifically for input from individuals experiencing health effects related to RF exposure. My experience demonstrates that electromagnetic sensitivity can be disabling, life‑altering, and functionally limiting. It affects access to healthcare, mobility, employment, and basic daily activities. It also raises serious questions about health equity: people with this condition have no safe public spaces, no recognized accommodations, and no meaningful protection from environmental exposures that are now unavoidable. I respectfully urge HHS to recognize electromagnetic sensitivity as a legitimate health concern, to evaluate the public health implications of chronic RF exposure, and to consider precautionary measures that protect vulnerable populations. People like me deserve acknowledgment, protection, and the ability to participate in society without being harmed by unavoidable RF exposure. Thank you for considering my experience. Respectfully,

Reports EMF sensitivity, anxiety and palpitations attributed to a home router, describes moving the route…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am very sensitive to EMF and very concerned about RF and wireless radiation. When working from home, I experience high anxiety and heart palpitations because my router was located in the same room that I was working in. Lost a day of work to move it to the garage. Now I have to limit my time in the garage. I have gone to great lengths to protect myself from radiation. Wired headphones, faraday enclosures on electronics, just to name a couple items. I live in a suburb with cell towers in close proximity to my residence and then of course there is the smart meter mounted to my home. Enough is Enough. PLEASE protect us from EMFs, RF and Wireless Radiation.

Reports resumed weight loss after reducing household EMFs on a nutritionist’s advice and replacing wirele…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
When very overweight and no longer losing weight, my nutritionist recommended that I consider turning off all my computer and bedroom power every night, making my landlines corded instead of wireless, (I didn't have a smart phone), and make all computer technology corded with EMF protected cords from less EMF. In other words, he suspected my high emf environment (like most Americans) was causing weight gain. I was eating a diet that normally allowed me to lose weight fast, but it had stalled. After 3 weeks of dramatically reducing home EMFs, my daily weight loss restarted and continued when the only thing I changed was emf exposure-not diet or exercise. At that point, I spent the money and bought expensive meters and studied EMFs.
