The commenter reports disabling glare and discomfort from LED headlights while walking and driving and re…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I strongly urge the regulatory body that has the authority to pass laws or regulations to consider and pass action on this topic. Lately driving has been an eyesore both day and night. Even just walking along the side of the road, LED headlights are so powerful I have to avert my gaze whenever one passes or shield my eyes. When driving at night, I loath the moment I see LED headlights come around the corner. I am filled with agitation when LED high beams turn into equally blinding LED lowbeams which still hurt my eyes. When driving, I am at times faced with the option to either look away from the road so that the beams of light don't burn into my eyes blinding me further or squinting, eyes barely open, trying to focus on any visible object to orientation myself. If anyone opposes this bill and owns LED headlights. I urge you to go outside at night, turn on your headlights and sit yourself down in front of them and stare into them.

Describes avoiding evening travel because of blinding vehicle lights and questions their approval.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I have to avoid travelling after dusk because the cars with blinding lights make the roads dangerous. If I come across one in the evening I have to virtually stop dead because I'm blinded, and can't see which way the road goes. Why were these lights ever allowed?

Requests banning or replacing excessively bright vehicle lights because of impaired driving visibility.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Why hasn’t there been regulation on the overly bright vehicle lights that blind you anytime you are driving especially at night. These lights should be banned and a better option for lights should be implemented. To not look at what these lights do when driving is just ignorance.

Describes a friend's symptoms following school-router installation, inability to teach and social restric…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
My dear friend, who had a very full life has seen it turned upside down since she was affected by the radiation admitting from her very powerful Rooter installed in the school where she taught. Since that time I have changed my house completely to try to accommodate her because she’s so miserable when Wi-Fi is on if she’s getting near an LED light, we all turn our cell phones off because everything she feels in her body now since years ago when the school installed this very powerful router across from her classroom. it has changed her life significantly she no longer could teach for a long time. She barely went out because everything bothered her and it’s so uncomfortable for her to ask everyone in the room or a party to turn off your cell phones to accommodate just her turn off your router path the people don’t even know how to turn off their router. It has changed her life and my life significantly when she comes over I can’t stream music and play it because that uses Wi-Fi. I have to take a little old-fashioned boom box and put a CD in it if we want music, even though I’m wired up to have a great sound system, my fountain bothers her the vibration sound of it. I know she has to turn. Off appliances in her own house to be comfortable, including her air conditioning and heating system. Her life has gone completely sideways and she’s a young healthy, active young woman I met playing tennis who lived happened to live up the block for me and I have seen her on this journey and it’s heartbreaking.

Describes a family's symptoms and extensive low-EMR home adaptations, restrictions on work and community …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting these comments as an individual. These comments share my personal and family experiences with man-made EMR illness and can thus be categorized as answering Question 3 on HHS’s Request for Information. I am a US citizen and a resident of Massachusetts. I am 34 years old and currently living in a semi-rural residential neighborhood, sharing a home with my parents and three adult siblings. One reason why we live together is our inability to find other living situations where we can avoid man-made electromagnetic radiation (EMR). All of us experience symptoms of EMR exposure when we spend time in commercial or urban areas in our region. [3c] Symptoms include headaches, vertigo, nausea, cognitive dysfunction, “brain fog,” chronic fatigue, skin rashes, full body bloating, diarrhea, tinnitus, and impaired motor control. [3f] We have been able to mitigate EMR exposure in our own home such that when these symptoms are triggered by EMR exposures outside our home, we can return home to recover. [3b] Recovery takes hours to days to weeks, depending on the severity and duration of exposure. [3a, f] We have taken measures on our own property to ensure that our home remains a sanctuary from EMR. We do not have a “smart” utility meter. We do not have any LED or fluorescent lights in our home—only incandescent (and a few halogen) lights whose radiation is closer to that of natural light. We do not have WiFi routers in our home. We use laptop computers (not on our laps!) with WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities disabled, and with internet access via hardwired ethernet. We have resisted our internet service provider’s efforts to upgrade our service box to a newer model that emits more EMR. There is enough distance between our house and our neighbors’ houses so that our neighbors’ WiFi signals are significantly reduced (though still present) in our home. The nearest cell tower is on the other side of a hill from our house. We do not own cell phones or any other “smart” devices; thus, we do not have devices calling for the cell tower’s signal from our house. We do not drive electric cars or have solar panels on our roof. While it is impossible to completely eliminate wireless EMR from our home (we still have cell service, as well as weak WiFi access from our neighbors’ houses), the difference between the EMR in our home and in the stores, schools, homes, and public buildings we visit is extremely evident—as measured both by our EMR exposure symptoms and by our handheld RF and Tri-field meters. [3g] As an example of meter readings, our home regularly measures under 10 microwatts per meter squared of RF radiation as measured on a handheld “Safe and Sound Pro II” meter (which measures radiation in the 200 megaHertz to 8 gigaHertz frequency range), and often under 2, while commercial and public buildings often measure in the tens of thousands. We are able to tolerate our home environment, and we often cannot tolerate other environments for longer than a short visit, if at all. It is important for our health and ability to live that we are able to maintain our home as the relative EMR oasis that it is. This means, in particular, retaining the rights to purchase incandescent light bulbs, to live without smart phones, to refuse smart-meter installation, and to reject cell towers or other wireless radiation infrastructure projects in our neighborhood. While we are able to live in our home, we are increasingly unable to leave our home without getting ill due to the continued increase in EMR in our broader communities. Society-wide scaling back of EMR technologies would enable us to participate more in our local communities and the broader society (e.g., to work) without getting so ill. When we go out into the world—to grocery stores, to schools, on public transportation—we observe that many people are dealing with illnesses similar to our EMR-induced illness, though our broader society fails to make the connection. We appreciate any efforts by HHS to address the nationwide illness crisis caused by our wireless telecommunications infrastructure. Regarding questions 12 and 14: Two useful sources of scientific evidence of EMR health and environmental harms are (1) the book “The Invisible Rainbow: A History of Electricity and Life” by Arthur Firstenberg, information available at https://cellularphonetaskforce.org/, and (2) the essay “When Light Turns to Darkness: Electromagnetic Radiation and Health: Are Our Wireless Technologies Harming Us?” by Margot DesBois, which distills much of the information in Firstenberg’s book and can be found online here: https://www.desboistutoring.org/when-light-turns-to-darkness-03-18-25.html.

A filmmaker identifies electrosensitivity and reports symptoms around wireless and electrical systems, de…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Hello! I am a Swede living in Sweden and in Spain. I have electrosensitivity since 2006 due to working too much with technology as a filmmaker. It was eventually my own canon videocamera that made me fall into the pit. Needless to say that I get headache and energy loss and constant colds when my immune system goes down in environments with high microwave frequencies and where the electromagnetic fields are high in both microtesla and voltage. I wanted to point out an issue that is not really covered since the focus is mostly on 5G and other terrible wireless systems. I have noticed that these days the microtesla is really high inside and outside houses when measuring with my electrosmog meter, and this I also feel a lot in my whole body and head. Furthermore I have unfortunately not found a good place to live in Malmö in Sweden due to the central heating of the city and due to the smart meters from which its inherent transformers and microwaves emit spikes on the kind 50hz electrical cords in all the houses. And the central heating has also high voltage and microtesla that are transmitted from the original central heating and enlarged by the switchers in every house and then spread up by the leading metal tubes in the house to all the radiators in every apartment or villa. So these will literally be radiating in every room high fluctuating microtesla and voltage which is eat to measure with a electrosmog meter (Cornet for example). So this is the case in bigger cities in Sweden. So I was also surprised to notice high voltage and really high fluctuating microtesla in houses Portugal for example. I don't know why it's so. And I also noticed it with my meter and my brain that got a heavy headache at a friend's apartment in Malmö. So I measured outside her apartment house where there had been put up lightment of modern color lamps. My assumption is that these lampa are wireless controlled and therefore emit such high microtesla and voltage in the whole environment, both outside and inside the houses. I am really worried about this and would like to see some safety regulations around this. So an other issue are the solar cells and the wind mills. I have learned that it has to do with that there are transformers up at the highest point of the windmills that are spreading electromagnetism for serval kilometers away. I "feel" (headache , nausea, energy loss) from a windmill if I am closer than five kilometers away. Instead there should be a faraday's cage around that transformer, or put it on the ground with a parade cage around it. The transformer is changing the voltage rate. This should be constructed in a safer way. And likewise I cannot be close to solar cells or its equipment (transformers and controllers) forany meters. It is not a joke since solar cells are forbidden where military planes are flying low, since the radiation from the solar cells technology is disturbing the instruments inside the planes. Nevertheless there are "kind" solar cells and equipment and it is important to not install the equalizer system on the solar cells, ie that regulates the solar cells when there are clouds that give shade on some parts of the solar cells that are connected together. This makes the whole solar cell roof radiant... Apart from wireless systems and gadgets I also suffer a lot from house alarms and energy saving lamps and some kind of led lamps. Lamps can emit so much fluctuating microtesla. And also dimmers, which is due to the hammering on the electrical cord that therefore emit high spikes and give headache and energy loss, among all the other symptoms... So to avoid that it's better to have the dimmer lamp fully turned on or turned off. Not in between. I also noticed that my sick and sad old aunt was sleeping in fluctuating microtesla in her hospital bed at the senior sick house where her daughter put her. I went there to clean the electromagnetic and wireless ambiance of her room that made her so dizzy and lost. Even if I unplugged the electrical cable of her aluminium metal bed structure which had fluctuating microtesla according to my electrosmog meter it still was emitting, probably due to a encapsulated battery in the bed structure to moving the different bed parts up and down. So I found her a second hand bed of wood, with the same possibility to move the parts up and down with a cord control that the personnel would plug in if needed. She slept so much better after that. And also because I shut down one of the main fuses in the fuse box in her room as well since I measured it with my electrosmog meter that was peaking totally. So strange...

Requests action on intense vehicle headlights and fog lights, describing impaired visibility and measures…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Please please, please take action to help us on the road. The bright headlights and " fog lights " are so horribly bright, a person can't even see the fog line to help while being blinded by the oncoming lights of othe cars and trucks and motorcycles! It used to be illegal to drive with the high beams on. Affecting other drivers. These modern lights are brighter than anything from our past. I literally am forced to turn my sideview mirrors down and my rear view mirror up when driving at night to protect my vision from the rear. I also have a "sunscreen" I use that is attached to my visor. This is pull down to block the left side of my windshield. This makes it possible to drive home from work at night.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I suffer from retina issues and with all of the LED street lights and headlights rarely drive at night anymore. I only drive when necessary. The lighting causes a lot of pain in my eyes and has caused near auto wrecks on several occasions due to being blinded by oncoming headlights. There are street lights and some at businesses that are so bright that I have to shield my eyes when approaching them putting me in an unsafe situation. This has taken away my freedom to come and go as I wish.
