ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Hello, it's refreshing after more than 20 years that I suffer of hypersensitivity to EMF to have this opportunity to give my personal coment on a condition that has limited in many ways my life and consequently had an impact also to the life of my family. The hardest thing of my condition has been and still is the lack of recognition from my country (Italy) and internationally in general. In spite of A Scientific Consensus International Report, "The critical Importance of Molecular Biomarkers and Imaging in the Sudy of Electromagnetichypersensitivity" International Journal ofMolecularScience2021;22(14):7321.doi:10.3390/ijms22147321. and thausands of different studies, generally no doctor knows enough to be able to help as the research is brought forward only by private indipendent scientists and no government body invests on indipendent research. About me: In the presence of a mobilephone switched on in an eclosed space, I start feeling hot, dizy and generally unwell, strengthless. After about 10 minutes I might become all red in my face, start to see out of focus or feeling sensitive in my ears, that also become red and hot and oversensitive to sound. Even now, that I spend this time in front of my cabled computer, set on airplane mode, I start getting red in my face because the small radiations from the screen. I say might because different symptoms appear according to different frequencies, time of exposure, local environment..etc. The last train jurney I've undertaken many years ago caused me a very strong headache with nausea and fever for three days. I live in fear to find myself in the situation to have to stay in hospital for some reason as I know that I wouldn't find an adeguate environment (a room without emf) but instead I would have to be exposed to elettromagnetic fields that I know would contribute very negatively to my recovery. In fact all patients are allowed to use their mobile phones in the shared wards to keep in touch with friends and relatives. My condition is socially alienating, as friends and family cant't find adeguate information about the condition, on the contrary they find istitutional sites that openly deny its axistance or explain it as idiomatic condition caused mainly by psycological state of mind. Luckily, I still find some understanding from the people that are very close to me. Since my first symptoms appeared doctors have given different explanations for each individual symptoms never been able to answer about the main cause of my general state of health. Only by experiencing the same symptoms when I was exposed to EFM and noticing the disappearance of these symptoms in protected o EMF free environments, brought me to realise my hypersensitivity to EMF. Realising and understanding the condition can help to evoid to be overexposed (with a consequent deterioration of the condition), unfortunately it remains impossible evoiding EMF all together or thinking that one day you'll be able to enjoy a "normal "life because the technology continues to ignore the biological effects proven by thousands of studies from indipendent scientis and the direction is towards incrementing population exposure, not decreasing it. In fact the subject of biological effects of electromagnetic field on people has become "tabu subject", and that's why it's refreshing to have this opportunity to coment. So at the moment and for the last 20 years, I had to accept not to be able to use public transport or fly abroad to see my grandchildren, not to go to cinemas, restaurants, museums..or other enclosed areas where there might be a lot of people with their mobile phones on, or a strong wi fi signal. Long jurney by car are problematic also as motorways are becoming smart roads. If I want to mantain a social life I have to ask friends and family to swich their mobile phones when they come and visit, or ask them to meet outdoors with their mobile phones switched off. As the condition is not ufficially recognised not everybody is understanding enough to comply. It definately would be easier to be allergic to peanuts! I try to convince myself that if I don't give my condition too much importance it won't limit me so much, unfortunately the syntoms remind me promptly make me feel ill there and after. The depressing thing is that I know that my condition in this "new tecnological" environment cannot improve, but is destined to deteriorate untill my life as the life of many other people with my same condition becomes impossible or very debilitated as the body, living in a constant state of allert, starts developing functional deterioration. It would be nice if the research for safer means of comunication, backed by truly indipendent scientist could go towards options able to offer services that are truly safe for people, especially with hypersensitivity, children and the old. I hope to have beeing able to contribute in someways with this coment and I thank for the opportunity. Anna

The commenter reports EMF sensitivity around vehicles and a router, cancellation of internet service afte…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Yes, I have been struggling with emf sensitivity for years now. I cannot get in hybrid vehicles much less full electric vehicles, EMFs from the router affect me as well. Spectrum just had an update to their service recently which made the signal stronger, I felt horrible after the update was made and had to cancel my internet service. Please do further research, electric vehicles and 5g towers are all toxic to the human body and health detrimental to those of us with other health conditions.

Reports wireless sensitivity beginning near antennas, improvement after leaving and moving to a rural hom…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a Software Engineer, IT consultant and business owner, living in south of Sweden. Discovered my sensitivity from wireless tech (RF/microwaves) in 2006, shortly after moving into an apartment that had mobile base station antennas located very close nearby. I did not notice these antennas until after I started having recurring headaches, disturbed sleep, and many other symptoms, and started investigating possible causes. Mobile phone operator Telia made an on site measuring audit showing around 8mW/As soon as I left the apartment the symptoms quickly disappeared. I have been working with computers pretty much all my life and also did my military service in radar (air force) and my own theory is that I have been sensitized as a consequence of long-term exposure over many years. Today I live in the house in the countryside working remotely via fiber connection and usually do not experience any symptoms unless I use my mobile phone or other wireless tech more extensively (which is very tempting because of my profession). I have read lots of scientific studies over the years and some illustrates the problem especially well, such as the Spanish study on the Effects of Electromagnetic Fields from Phone Masts on a Population of White Stork (by Balmori A, https://doi.org/10.1080/15368370500205472), that show with rather high significance that the birds with nests nearer to the phone base station antennas have increased likeliness problems with nesting and reproduction. My own measurements of RF radiation over the years consists of different measuring devices ranging from simpler meters such as Cornet ED88T to more advanced devices such as Gigahertz Solutions HF59b.

The Danish EHS Association describes members' reported symptoms and exposure-related access difficulties …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Comment from EHS Association in Denmark (EHS-Foreningen – https://ehsf.dk) The Danish EHS Association represents people who experience adverse health effects from a wide variety of EMF and RF-EMF emitting sources. The association currently have around 500 members. Adverse health effects (insomnia, heart palpitations, headache, migraine, restlessness in the body, fatigue, cognitive issues (brain fog, memory issues, etc.), burning skin, nausea, dizziness, joint pain, pain in organs, tinnitus, stress and more) are often reported by members to be related to: - Cell towers - Wi-Fi routers and devices - Bluetooth devices - Cellphones and smartphones - Wireless speakers - Smart meters - High-voltage cables in the ground - PV solar inverters - Robotic lawnmowers with active boundary wires - Induction and microwave cooking - EV charging stations and EV´s - Dirty electricity - Stray currents - "Regular" 50 Hz electrical fields or EMF from wires, household appliances, and electronics such as TVs, stereos, computers, etc. (some members turn everything off at night, or do not have electricity in their homes at all) Members also experience specific settings as being particularly often related to adverse health effects, such as: - Being in crowds in general: cinemas, concerts, family gatherings and more (many people = many cellphones = high exposure) - Using public transport such as buses, trains and boats (a closed metal box + many cellphones = high exposure) - Being in hospitals (WiFi, Bluetooth, DECT phone systems, Wireless medical equipment and many people) - Being in airports (many people with cellphones, wearables, etc. + radar) - Flying - Beaches and harbours with radar nearby Recommendations: 1. Inform general practitioners that they should register and notify the HHS (e.g. via an online form) when a patient reports adverse health effects related to EMF or RF-EMF exposure. To our knowledge, nothing is being systematically reported or registered when patients discuss these issues with their practitioner. We are sometimes contacted by affected individuals because nurses at clinics recommend contacting us. 2. Initiate a survey among general practitioners to provide an estimate of how often patients report having EMF or RF-EMF-related issues. 3. Set up an online form in which people who personally experience adverse health effects related to EMF or RF-EMF exposure can state which symptoms (headache, insomnia, dizziness, etc.) they experience and in which settings (scrolling on a smartphone, staying somewhere close to a cell tower, traveling by bus/train, going to a concert, etc.). 4. Make general information about how to lower exposure when using a cellphone widely available to the public. This is a brochure with the Scandinavian countries' precautionary recommendations when using a cellphone: https://foreninglet-cms-files.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/4244/xZ3LDeGaQmzZ.pdf Thank you for providing individuals, families, health care providers, researchers and scientists an opportunity to be heard on this critical public health issue. Reports diagnosed electromagnetic radiation syndrome beginning after smart-meter installation, describes …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a 62 year old woman who has suffered from electromagnetic radiation syndrome (EMR) since 2010, over 16 years ago. It started when a smart meter was placed on my home. I instantly had difficulties sleeping, severe anxiety and other mental health symptoms such as adhd, depression, and inability to focus. I also was diagnosed by a Doctor for the condition in 2013. I suffer extreme symptoms being around cell phones and wireless of any kind, and because of this, I also suffer with social isolation. The symptoms are many and varied depending on strength and length of time of exposure. I have had headaches, bleeding nose, bladder spasms, severe insomnia, memory loss, forgetfulness, brain fog, burning sensations in skin, neuropathy, and many more. There are many people I know that are suffering the same and some people have the same symptoms without understanding the cause. The research has been done and clearly shows the harm of these frequencies on human health and behavior and to ignore this would be a crime against humanity. There are other technologies that could be made available that would not cause the harm that comes from wireless.

Describes electromagnetic sensitivity, loss of an in-person teaching career and reduced public access, re…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am sensitive to electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) and radio frequencies (RFs) caused by cell phones, electricity, WiFi, cell towers, and other wireless and electronic devices. To say that the discovery of my sensitivity greatly impacted my life, is an understatement. It nearly RUINED me, I had thoughts of ending my life. It has certainly ruined my career as a public school teacher. I can no longer teach in person because I cannot tolerate being around antennas, cell phones, smart meters, and all of the other miscellaneous wireless devices. I am forced to work from home and do not make nearly the amount of money that I used to make. I began having health issues in 2016. My symptoms included leg numbness, brain fog, balance issues, gastrointestinal issues, heart issues, and list goes on. I had never had any health issues prior, at that time I was in my mid 40s. That year, in 2016 was the first year they put WiFi on the ceiling of my classroom. Additionally, I was in a classroom with several iPads and cell phones. Through my health insurance, I had several tests done. The doctors told me it might be MS or a brain tumor. Over a 4 year period, I had blood tests, MRIs, nerve tests, endoscopy, colonoscopy, ekg, and several visits to address the many symptoms that I was experiencing. In the spring of 2020, 5g towers were being deployed all over my city and around my neighborhood. I started developing ear infections, heart issues, and my body felt like it was vibrating all the time. I knew that I hit the end of the road with Western Medicine, all the tests were inconclusive and there was nothing they could do for me. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I got rid of my WIFI and cell phone, I fully wired my home and began sleeping with the electricity off in my bedroom at night. I was still living in a housing tract and was surrounded by cell towers, so my symptoms did not completely go away, but they were greatly reduced by the changes I made. Today, I live with a lot of land separating me from my neighbors. I have a shield on my smart meter, as my electric company will not entertain an analog meter and I am 3 miles from the nearest cell tower. I do not allow cell phones or other wireless devices in my home. I now live a relatively comfortable life with minimal symptoms as long as I stay home. When going out to run errands or traveling I often experience the following: headaches, watery eyes with head pressure, trouble focusing, brain fog, inability to think clearly, balance issues and many other health symptoms depending on the type of EMF or RF and the concentration. I cannot be comfortable out in public, my trips are usually very short. There is plenty of research out there that shows the dangers of wireless radiation. In 1971, the Naval Medical Research Institute in Maryland researched the biological effects and clinical manifestations attributed to radio frequency and microwave radiation. I highlighted the symptoms that I have personally experienced as a result of wireless radiation. In the Naval Medical Research Institute report, they found that the radiation caused all of the following and more: heating of organs, corneal damage, altered menstruation, altered fetal development, liver enlargement, decreased lactation in nursing mothers, altered renal function, changes in the oxidative processes in skin and organs, altered blood flow rate, electrocardiographic changes, myocardial necrosis, dehydration, death, headaches, insomnia, cranial nerve disorders, seizures, convulsions, altered heart rhythm, structural alterations in synapses of vagus nerve, stimulation of parasympathetic nervous system and inhibition of sympathetic nervous system, depression, impotence, anxiety, lack of concentration, tremors, dizziness, scalp sensations, chest pain, increased irritability, blood disorders, vascular disorders, biochemical changes, metabolic disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrine gland changes, and genetic and chromosomal changes. A former tower worker reports EHS and sensations with 5G phones and proposes maintaining 4G handsets with…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I have worked on cell towers. You cannot climb a 5g tower but you can hold a 5 g phone. I have Electromagnetic hypersensitivity (EHS) if I pick up a iPhone with 5 g my hands will tingle. If I put the phone in my pocket my leg will feel the effects. This affects people differently based on factors I really don’t know. It’s the same reason living near power lines gives people rare conditions. The goal would be to make a 4 g system connected to a 5 g like system that people don’t have to touch. Give people 4 g phones with converters at the towers.

Calls for medical recognition of EHS and stricter nonthermal exposure limits, citing biomarker, DNA-repai…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am writing to formally request stricter regulations on anthropogenic electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and to advocate for the official medical recognition of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS). Current public exposure standards fail to account for non-thermal, biological effects that severely impact human health. Scientific evidence proves that EHS is a definitive neurological disorder characterized by oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, and objective physiological biomarkers. Furthermore, recent molecular research highlights that chronic EMF exposure triggers genetic toxicity and impairs vital cellular repair mechanisms. To support this urgent need for tighter biological safety limits, I submit the following peer-reviewed scientific studies: 1. On DNA Damage and Genetic Toxicity: Sonzogni L, Al-Choboq J, Combemale P, et al. Skin Fibroblasts from Individuals Self-Diagnosed as Electrosensitive Reveal Two Distinct Subsets with Delayed Nucleoshuttling of the ATM Protein in Common. International Journal of Molecular Sciences. 2025;26(10):4792. doi: 10.3390/ijms26104792. This crucial study confirms that individuals with EHS suffer from a delayed or impaired cellular response to DNA double-strand breaks when exposed to EMFs, providing clear evidence of genetic vulnerability and organic pathology. 2. On the International Scientific Consensus: Belpomme D, Carlo GL, Irigaray P, et al. The Critical Importance of Molecular Biomarkers and Imaging in the Study of Electrohypersensitivity. A Scientific Consensus International Report. International Journal of Molecular Sciences. 2021;22(14):7321. doi: 10.3390/ijms22147321. This consensus report officially classifies EHS as a neurological disorder involving altered cerebral blood flow, oxidative stress, and elevated inflammatory markers such as histamine. 3. On Population Prevalence and Global Health Impact: McCredden JE, McLean L, Steinemann A. Wireless sensitivity and co-morbidities: A prevalence study in Australia, Canada, and the United States. Next Research. 2026;8:101577. doi: 10.1016/j.nexres.2026.101577. This recent epidemiological research indicates that up to 12.6% of the general population across the US, Canada, and Australia reports sensitivity to wireless radiation, representing millions of citizens experiencing EMF-related health barriers. I urge the HHS to adopt the Precautionary Principle, revise current guidelines to include non-thermal biological thresholds, and establish dedicated healthcare protocols to protect the rights and lives of medically vulnerable EMF-sensitive individuals. Sincerely Italia

Describes electromagnetic sensitivity among people with ME/CFS, reports personal phone-related head pain,…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I help to run a registered charity for people suffering from the illness M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), in England, UK. Electromagnetic sensitivity including wifi is not uncommon as a co-morbidity with ME/CFS. Multiple Chemical Sensitivity appears to be more common as a co-morbidity with ME/CFS sufferers. I know personally of two M.E. sufferers who cannot use mobile phones and react badly to other electrical products, e.g. televisions. I myself cannot use a mobile phone unless I use shielding for my head, otherwise the pain I experience is like being hit on the head with a hammer. I know of a lady who does not have M.E., but she is extremely electrically sensitive, especially to mobile phone masts. At times she is so ill that she has to live in a shielded hut in a garden. submitted by Mrs. Catherine Ashenfelter, The Grace Charity for M.E., Kent, England, UK

Reports EMF sensitivity in parent and child, behavioral improvement after moving, and prolonged tinnitus …

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am a parent of an EMF sensitive kid and a sensitive person as well. In 2018 my non-verbal autistic son was running back and forth in our condo, slamming into walls. So much that his fingers were raw and bleeding and there was blood all over my house. I tested EMFs and they were off the charts. Every tiny condo had a smart meter and most of my neighbors also had hot spots. I tried mitigating, but it only helped slightly. Then I did a test, I took my son to a cabin in the middle of the woods for a week. No wifi, no smart appliances, nothing emitting EMFs. I had a different child by the end of the week. We moved. It got much better. I have personally become more sensitive to EMFs over the years. Recently my son had an appt in a building that had cell pods on the side of it. I typically look for things like that before we go, but I had forgotten. The building was square and 6 stories high, about that same width and length. The pods were on all 4 faces, mounted at the 6th floor. Our meeting was on the 5th. I told the lady i didn't know if i could make it for the entire meeting, but I would try. I usually get headaches pretty quickly being that close to towers. I was astonished to be able to make it through the meeting. When we got back down to our car, I looked in the rear view mirror at my son who was saying something to me, but I could not hear him. It was then that I realized that my tinnitus, which I have had mildly for years, was suddenly so loud that I could not hear my son speaking to me from the back seat. All from 1 hours under some cell pods. It took 9 months to get it back down to normal levels. It was horrible. I fear a cell tower going up near my home forcing me to move.
