I am responding as an individual consumer, a parent, and a concerned citizen. I first started to learn about the hazards of EMF's when I started to experience severe and symptomatic arrythmias in my mid-30's. Since then, I have recovered and improved my sleep immensely by turning off our WiFi when not in use, hardwiring devices like TV's, computers and laptops, and having our smartmeters (power and gas) replaced with analog meters. Everyone in our family noticed better sleep, my daughter's nose bleeds stopped, my son who was experiencing distressing symptoms from heart arrythmia improved, our family dog who used to have his crate on the wall near the smart meter began to grow hair. That was all the evidence we needed, but unfortunately, we have been unable to control the installation of wireless towers near our home and/or massive panel additions to existing panels. There has been the installation of 5G (all while adding to 2G, 3G and 4G) with 6G on the way. We also cannot control the "general electrosmog" from other neighbor's smart meters, WiFi, devices, appliances, etc, etc. We need the FCC to revisit the undeniable impact of EMF's on our cellular biology, disease factors, impact on nature and the environment, and more. Such studies stopped decades ago while the industry explodes unchecked and that is telling. We need ongoing health studies, industry transparency and regulation to protect residential areas and schools.
Those with a sensitive nervous system as well as being exposed to EMF’s are susceptible to undesirable side effects such as; elevated heart rate, anxiety, headaches insomnia and difficulty concentrating. With the increase in Lyme disease, mold sickness and even Covid many are unfortunately more and more vulnerable. Studies and knowledge should be explored and is necessary not only for our future but for our children and grandchildren.
All these EMFs and radiation are not necessary.
They also be kept the smallest levels
We were all healthier before this stuff started.
Many of us get very sick when exposed to these things
They’ve already proven the fact that mold and bacteria gross 600 times faster when exposed to EMF’S. It’s making so many diseases worse than what they already were especially for children and elderly. Disease and sicknesses that were barely heard of years ago now running at outrageously high rate. We need to save our people and our children and lower these things as much as possible as soon as possible.
Sayer Ji quotes 1009 studies -- ignored by media, politicians and the medical professions alike -- that show the harm to human life, especially to vulnerable children, our future. There is no justifiable reason to roll out the next 6G etc. generation of cell towers when Elon Musk has announced that the technology for satellite phones for everyone is within sight. The PUSH should be for satellite phones and internet, and to PULL all the cell towers in a controlled transition as the technology becomes available. MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN!
This is in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. It is shocking that with how much wireless technology and infrastructure have increased dramatically in recent years, the FCC has not updated its RF exposure guidelines since 1996! This is unacceptable in the United States of America.
As a parent who has witnessed the negative impacts of wireless exposure on my children, I urge HHS to take a more proactive role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Urgent and honest science needs to be done on this issue, with no increases in exposure levels allowed until it is determined that the current levels are even safe.
Thank you for allowing me to be heard.
I am writing to express my serious concerns about the increasing exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation from cell towers, particularly in residential neighborhoods and near homes where families and children spend much of their time.
I have personally experienced sleep disturbances, difficulty getting restful sleep, and negative effects on my overall physical well-being that I am concerned may be associated with exposure to nearby wireless infrastructure. I believe the potential long-term health consequences of continuous, involuntary exposure deserve much greater investigation.
I am so concerned about wireless radiation exposure that I even make an effort to turn off my own Wi-Fi router, particularly at night, to reduce unnecessary exposure while my family sleeps. I believe individuals should have the ability to make these decisions within their own homes. However, regardless of the precautions I take, I have no control over the radiation emitted by nearby cell towers and other wireless infrastructure.
This is particularly frustrating because I can take reasonable steps to limit exposure from devices inside my home, yet I cannot meaningfully control exposure originating outside my property.
Unlike personal electronic devices, cell towers transmit RF signals around the clock, often without residents having any meaningful choice or control over their exposure.
I strongly urge the Department of Health and Human Services to conduct additional independent, long-term research into the potential effects of chronic RF exposure, particularly regarding sleep quality, neurological function, children’s development, and overall health.
I also believe stronger transparency requirements, independent exposure monitoring, and greater consideration of residential proximity should be incorporated into policies governing cell tower placement.
The absence of conclusive evidence of harm should not automatically be treated as proof that long-term exposure is entirely without risk. Families deserve thorough, unbiased research and reasonable safeguards, especially when exposure is involuntary.
My greatest concern is that I am actively trying to create a healthier sleeping environment for my family, yet I have no meaningful ability to control the wireless infrastructure surrounding our home. I should not have to wonder whether the environment in which my children sleep every night could be affecting their long-term health.
I am asking HHS to take these concerns seriously, prioritize public health, and ensure that Americans have access to reliable, independent research and transparent information about the wireless radiation present in their communities.
Our homes should be places where we can sleep peacefully, recover, and feel safe. We deserve confidence that the infrastructure surrounding our homes is not negatively affecting our health.
I appreciate the opportunity to provide comments in response to this Request for Information. The widespread use of wireless technologies, including mobile phones, Wi‑Fi networks, smart devices, wearable technologies, and expanding telecommunications infrastructure, makes this an important public health issue worthy of continued scientific evaluation. HHS has stated that the purpose of this RFI is to assess the current state of evidence, identify research gaps, compare regulatory approaches, and support evidence-based policymaking.
I encourage HHS to place particular emphasis on the following areas:
Long-term exposure research
Much of the public concern relates not to short-term exposure but to cumulative exposure over many years. Longitudinal studies examining health outcomes following decades of exposure would help address persistent uncertainties and improve risk assessment.
Children and vulnerable populations
Children, pregnant women, and individuals with existing health conditions should receive special consideration. Further research should examine whether exposure patterns, physiology, or developmental factors may warrant different risk assessments for these groups.
Independent and transparent research
Public confidence depends upon transparency. HHS should prioritize systematic reviews that clearly distinguish between established findings, emerging evidence, and areas where evidence remains insufficient or conflicting.
Exposure measurement and real-world conditions
Studies should focus on realistic modern exposure scenarios, including combined exposure from multiple wireless devices and sources commonly found in homes, schools, workplaces, and public environments.
International standards comparison
HHS should review and compare domestic and international approaches to RF/EMF exposure standards in order to identify areas of consensus, disagreement, and scientific uncertainty.
Public information and risk communication
The public would benefit from clear, accessible information explaining what is known, what remains uncertain, and practical steps individuals may take if they wish to reduce personal exposure.
In conclusion, I support continued scientific investigation into RF/EMF exposure and health effects. Policymaking should be guided by transparent evaluation of all high-quality evidence, with particular attention to long-term exposure, vulnerable populations, and unresolved scientific questions. Continued research and open public discussion will help ensure that health protections remain appropriate as wireless technologies continue to evolve.
Thank you for considering these comments.
Yours sincerely,
Dr Stephen Marvin
Wireless radiation exposure has become an unavoidable, and for me a painful and lifestyle-altering, part of daily life. Cell phones, Smart watches, Smart technology, Wi‑Fi routers, Bluetooth devices, Smart meters, and nearby cell towers all contribute to a constant radiofrequency exposure that has not been previously experienced in former generations. Due to the pain caused by these widespread blanketing waves, I am unable to visit public places where cell phones, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cell towers are present.
In 2020, I was diagnosed with EMF sensitivity and chemical sensitivity as part of MCAS - Mast Cell Activation Syndrome - an autoimmune disease believed to be caused by toxic mold exposure. I saw several specialists and MD's, including an extended stay at the Environmental Health Center of North Dallas. Using the ESI 24 electro-smog detector, it was determined that I react to radiation from electrical fields, magnetic fields, radiofrequencies and high-frequency voltage transients.
Symptoms are present immediately, and within minutes migraines with and without aura are experienced, as well as pseudo-seizure type episodes. The determining factors are the strength of signal and the length of time spent in the signal. A squeezing sensation in the back of the head and neck, eye pain and dizziness and shaking are also common symptoms.
I carry radiation protection at all times on my person and we have several mitigation devices in our house. None are strong enough to ward off the pain caused by the radiation from cell phones, TV's with built-in chips that cannot be deactivated, or neighbor's Wi-Fi. Smart meters are also a concern, as we have one in our immediate living area and our local provider does not offer opting out. We have hard-wired internet connections where applicable, but some devices cannot be shut-off. Even our garage door opener is enabled with smart technology, which is located right under the room in which I sleep. The electrical breakers to my bedroom must be turned off every night in order to relieve the pain.
This technology, while meant to be helpful and forward-thinking, is many times dangerous and without proper regulation. The radiation being put off by these devices is more dangerous than we think, and this technology needs to be re-evaluated, especially when used at close proximity, as with baby monitors, appliances, and without question cell phones. This is a silent threat that in my opinion can damage the health of our society, young and old. It is happening to me right now, and what will be the result in ten years?
Does anyone care?
As a manufacturer of LED lighting devices since 2008 and consultant of exposures to magnetic fields, electrical fields, radio frequency fields and geophysical fields professionally for over 25 years I offer this article from Barrie Trower regarding the theory that certain exposure levels from certain identified microwave radio frequency fields will produce infertility and birth defects similar to Thalidomide.Barrie Trower is a British physicist and former member of the British Navy and Secret Service. He has opined on the negative health effects of exposure to microwave radiation for several years. His experience working in the British Secret Service exposed him to information from foreign spy’s that had pulsed electromagnetic frequencies that were developed to be used as weapons. Today he states that there are about 750 frequencies that are used both deliberately and accidentally in places that cause various negative health effects. According to Trower, 58% of the planet’s governments are taking avoidance action against this while 42% are not aware of the risks and taking no action. Seventeen countries are currently enacting legislation to restrict the deployment of microwave radiation.
I am concerned about whether current FCC radiofrequency exposure guidelines adequately address long-term exposure, modern wireless technologies, and the potential effects on children and other vulnerable populations. Reports from people who believe their health has been affected deserve respectful consideration and careful investigation.
As wireless infrastructure expands, I would like to see a transparent review of current scientific evidence, clear explanations of any uncertainties, and practical guidance for people who wish to reduce their exposure. The public deserves meaningful responses to these concerns and confidence that decisions affecting our homes, schools, and workplaces are based on a thorough and current assessment of health and environmental evidence.
