I am disturbed that you are seeking opinions rather than evaluating the science and publishing guidelines based on expert consensus and current science. Opinions have no place in this process, expertise and science should guide us.

There are many studies indicating harm to of EMF on human beings not just from high-end technology but also power lines. Also, please consider statements from Nicole Shanahan (former spouse of Google founder Sergey Brin) on this video link where she states "These Technologies can be made safe but big Tech is in bed with big Pharma. They can be made safe… We are an electrochemical species and we are indeed short-circuited at a cellular level… We are being polluted both electrically and chemically on a daily basis… What are we getting in exchange? We are getting an augmented transhumanist future. It’s not worth it." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chrFU_XATuw See attached statement from foremost recognized SME on EMF Dr. Robert O. Becker (The Body Electric) before the House Subcommittee on Water and Power Resources, October 6, 1987, regarding the dangers of powerline EMF.

The subject of my entry: I understand that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), headed by The Honourable Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and the U.S. Federal Communication Commission (FCC), both are seeking public input on electromagnetic fields and wireless radiation. --- In my entry, I want to focus on the need for support to persons with the functional impairment electrohypersensitivity under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (aka the UN Special Human Rights Act for Persons with Functional Impairments).

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
The consequences of ubiquitous exposure to non-native EMF radiation are well-researched and known, yet no action has been taken to implement strategies to mitigate, despite what’s known and what’s suspected. The “big-picture” perspective of health and chronic disease over the past 6 decades shows a worsening trend,…not an improvement trend, despite the research/funding/clinical applications dedicated toward individually named chronic health conditions. The HHS, and all regulatory agencies in the public health sphere of influence would do well to acknowledge and attend to the mounting threat that EMF radiation presents to human health (as well as that of all biological life). We need transparency and action regarding already-established research on this topic, as well as initiatives to take more seriously continued and novel research; while not waiting for “consensus”…action in the form of prevention and mitigation strategies and guardrails on the industries involved.

Criticizes thermal limits, describes tinnitus varying with location, raises reproductive and neurological…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
The present state of regulation address only short term thermal effects from RF radiation. Non-thermal and long term effects are not addressed. However when they occur they are actually short term. Symptoms may vary from potentially causing tumor, by different effects from braking DNA, over oxidative stress that cause many sorts of disturbances. Further is associated to EHS or electro hypersensitivity syndrome, such as headaches, memory loss, tinnitus, problems of concentration, sleeping disorder, anxiety, depression and the other variety of symptoms. The last but not least is the impact on fertility. Studies on moused have indicated strong correlation. My personal opinion is when located in the large city on strong infrastructure, ther use to be tinnitus, when going to the small place on the seaside with lower exposure levels, tinnitus release significantly. The present sate of limits is to ICNIRP up to 10 W/m2 power flux for the general population. However that level is the limit for thermal effects, the non thermal appear at much lower levels in extended time of exposure, such as commonly considered levels over 10 microW/m2. That it difference in exposure of million times under official limits or 60 dB. Recommended levels by independet science are even lower and are considered additionally 100 times or 20dB lower. That may be close to levels that existed before massive base stations deployment, when only TV transmitters were available. Still todays exposure levels to limits are 100 million billions times higher then the natural radio frequency background levels or up 170 dB higher as to some research. That does not match the evolutionary adaptation. The main problem are mobile phone base stations as they present non-stop exposure and they are not a matter of personal choice. On the other hand mobile phones, WI-FI or DECT phones can present some higher levels of exposure on short distance, but they are the matter of personal choice and time of exposure could be chosen on functional preference. As to deployment of wi-fi for schools it is important to note that they cause in vicinity the same radiation as base stations on about 50 meters distance. Many studies on base stations like those done in Minas Gerais Brazil, in the Naila Germany that effects are most dominant in distances up to 500 meters and they even indicated correlation of symptoms by the distance. So the question is how could modern technology like those radiation emitters improve the quality of life if it cause insomnia, tinnitus, depression, sleeping disturbance or any other more severe diseases? If only the infertility rates are increase it can endanger national security as to the possible loss of domestic population. The solution to the problem is to use landlines and cable internet, as all functions can be done, even better, as optical internet is much safer and more reliable then wireless also the classic cable phone instead of mobile or DECT as it completely solves the functional need at any stationary location. Wireless communication makes sense only for airplanes, ships and satellites as the only option. In the car mobile phones are not allowed for use. The other question is where is such emergency that the average person should be in access at any moment? The average person is not ambulance, fireman or police for a need to instant access. Additionally constant exposure to information and access is related to significant stress and reduction in mental health, besides the radiation. As the degraded health can no more be purchased for money, the trade of health for money by the use of radiation exposure devices is not a good deal. They are prone to cause addiction, stress, loss of personal communication, physical and mental health degradation, there is no justification for its use, as all the rational jobs can be done on desktop computers, classic phone and landline internet, without radiation exposure. Costs of health in long term can significantly increase and the trick used by agencies is there is no evidence for side effects in the short term as from those protect the regulation. Actually the regulation protects industry from law suites rather then people from the radiation effects. In the attachement the excellent and wide coverage study from the Austrian health department and Austrian medical chamber, by Dr. Oberfeld, the great exert on environment and independent radiation research. In hope for better public education on risks from radiation exposure and removal of radiation exposure sources. Kind regards, Robert Markusic, ing.med.radiology & mag.oec.

Provides a mouse-study abstract reporting memory deficits and hippocampal changes after microwave exposur…

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
See attached file(s) 2.45 GHz Microwave Radiation Impairs Learning and Spatial Memory via Oxidative/Nitrosative Stress Induced p53-Dependent/Independent Hippocampal Apoptosis: Molecular Basis and Underlying Mechanism 2015 ABSTRACT A close association between microwave (MW) radiation exposure and neurobehavioral disorders has been postulated but the direct effects of MW radiation on central nervous system still remains contradictory. This study was performed to understand the effect of short (15 days) and long-term (30 and 60 days) low-level MW radiation exposure on hippocampus with special reference to spatial learning and memory and its underlying mechanism in Swiss strain male mice, Mus musculus. Twelve-weeks old mice were exposed to 2.45 GHz MW radiation (continuous-wave [CW] with overall average power density of 0.0248 mW/cm? and overall average whole body specific absorption rate value of 0.0146 W/Kg) for 2 h/day over a period of 15, 30, and 60 days). Spatial learning and memory was monitored by Morris Water Maze. We have checked the alterations in hippocampal oxidative/nitrosative stress, neuronal morphology, and expression of pro-apoptotic proteins (p53 and Bax), inactive executioner Caspase- (pro-Caspase-3), and uncleaved Poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 in the hippocampal subfield neuronal and nonneuronal cells (DG, CA1, CA2, and CA3). We observed that, short-term as well as long-term 2.45 GHz MW radiation exposure increases the oxidative/nitrosative stress leading to enhanced apoptosis in hippocampal subfield neuronal and nonneuronal cells. Present findings also suggest that learning and spatial memory deficit which increases with the increased duration of MW exposure (15 < 30 < 60 days) is correlated with a decrease in hippocampal subfield neuronal arborization and dendritic spines. These findings led us to conclude that exposure to CW MW radiation leads to oxidative/nitrosative stress induced p53-dependent/independent activation of hippocampal neuronal and nonneuronal apoptosis associated with spatial memory loss. Key words: microwave radiation; hippocampal apoptosis; learning and spatial memory; oxidative and nitrosative stress; neurocytoarchitecture
