I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure.
I am responding from the perspective of a concerned member of the public, mother and family member.
Wireless radiation is making us sick!
I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence.
I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health.
Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.
I am submitting this comment as a consumer concerned about long-term exposure to wireless radiation from phones, Wi-Fi routers, cell towers, and other connected devices.
I urge HHS to conduct a thorough, independent review of whether current exposure limits adequately protect public health. This review needs to consider those most heavily exposed and should examine potential effects beyond tissue heating, including evidence concerning cancer, reproductive health, and children’s development.
Please prioritize research that reflects how people actually encounter wireless radiation: repeated exposure over many years, often from multiple sources and devices used close to the body. Assessments should consider signal strength, pulse patterns, duration, and combined exposure.
Please consider Melnick and Moskowitz’s 2026 analysis of animal data, which argues that existing exposure limits may inadequately protect against cancer and reproductive harm (https://doi.org/10.1186/s12940-026-01288-6). I also ask HHS to evaluate Lai and Levitt’s review of exposure intensity, duration, and signal modulation (https://doi.org/10.1080/15368378.2022.2065683), and Scarato’s review of US regulatory gaps and proposed reforms (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2025.1677583). These papers warrant careful consideration alongside the broader evidence, including studies that have not found adverse effects.
I ask HHS to:
•Assess whether additional protections are needed for children, pregnant women, and other potentially vulnerable groups.
•Support long-term research with safeguards against industry conflicts of interest.
•Provide clear information about exposure and practical ways to reduce it, including wired alternatives in homes and schools.
•Recommend updated standards wherever the evidence shows that existing limits are insufficient.
Consumers should not have to navigate these questions alone. Please use this inquiry to advance transparent science, meaningful oversight, and public health protection.
MAKE WI-FI IN DEVICES OPTIONAL INCLUDING CARS. There are many devices that have WiFi built into them that you cannot turn off. Most TVs for example. My hard wired Direct TV receiver had a transponder which sent signals to the cell tower half a mile away, but only at certain times. At these times I would feel very dizzy within a few feet of it and a RF meter was able to track down the source. It could not be removed or turned off so I got rid of it. The Bluetooth in my TV also made me dizzy but at least back in 2017 mine could be turned off. Cars used to function fine before WI-FI. It's not essential and being forced into becoming dizzy while driving is just stupid and unfair. There should at least be some cars you can buy where it's optional.
I experience spaciness/brain fog from the modem and if I have a phone near me it's worse. If I have to hold the phone for more than a minute or two, my hand feels numb/tingly and I have to put it down. If I've ever had a phone near my head, I feel a burning sensation and feel very agitated. It's very obvious to me that my body experiences negative effects from wireless.
I have dealt with a variety of issues with EMF. For instance, I cannot wear a battery powered watch or it will make my wrist ache pretty badly. Cannot wear a cell phone on my body without it aching. So I don't do it. when I moved into this house I am in now, unknown to me there were some wiring errors that created stray current which led to high magnetic fields. I thought I was dying until a basic Trifield meter exposed the fields and I shut off the circuits involved. Slowly I started to recover my health. Electricians did not know how to fix this so I had to find out myself. Took a long time to fix the wiring errors. All electrical items worked properly but still we had the high magnetic fields. I wonder how many houses have this and don't know it.
When I was a child a dentist put several large metal amalgam fillings in my molar teeth. I had no problems with those fillings until wifi and cell signals were everywhere. Then I had just a slight tingling in my jaw. It was noticeable. I also had a few crowns on my teeth which were porcelain on the visible side but metal underneath. I paid a lot of money to have all the metal removed from my mouth and replaced with ceramics. Guess what? No more tingling. The tingling indicated an interference from the wireless signals. Guess what? Lots of people have metal in their bodies. in their mouths, their joints, bone repairs, etc. It is an issue and is why you don't get a good cell signal in a metal building. The metal interferes and interacts with the cell and wifi signals.
I am not (yet) hypersensitive to EMF or EMR however I realize I do have a certain sensitivity and could become hypersensitive. So I urge caution with Electromagnetic exposure. I have also paid a good bit of money to make my home a safe haven free from wifi, dirty electricity, etc. It is a constant game of vigilance to see what is going on even in my home. I have several meters just to protect myself. So yes I have spent a lot of money and time on this issue. What happens to those who don't have the money, the time or the ability to research and find out what is hurting them? Their lives are adversely affected.
We do need protection from the harmful signals. Especially those close to the towers and other emitters such as wifi devices. These wifi devices do not need to be emitting so much and should all have an on off switch. Which reminds me I saw a wifi router with a switch to turn wifi off but when turned off my meter showed it was still emitting wifi signals. That should be unlawful. It is deceptive.
Hopefully we will see some changes for the better. Thanks.
When I'm around cell phones, I get headaches and, later, restless legs when attempting to sleep. I purposely don't own a cell phone despite how inconvenient that is.
COIL WHINE, coming from multiple electric items everywhere, is perceived by a percentage of people with sensitive hearing, causing their Central Nervous System to be on high alert, with symptoms like bad to debilitating reactive tinnitus, perceiving certain sounds as painfully loud, distressing electric feelings in feet, hands and head especially when lying in bed above a wooden floor under which are recessed halogen lights with all their transformers emitting coil whine, brainfog, a feeling of being paralysed out of doing what you really want to commence and finish. I feel this part is worse possible during the day because I am within reach of 18 active and strong wifi networks and many more phones and laptops during the day and evening. In my case my hearing is excellent (says ENT) and I have small fibre neuropathy (says neurologist) and prediabetes (says gp). It seems my metal dental restoration materials, like a bridge and a lot of White Composite Filling materials which almost all contain metallic nanoparticles, cause the high sound vibrations to travel through jawbone conduction more then through natural teeth which are less dense material, going straight to the inner ear and byoassing any muffling in the earcanak ir eustachian tubes. My eustachian tube is either permanently closed or open, my next ENT specialist will find out. This also effects how sound gets to your inner ear. I beg you look into the combination of COIL WHINE, small fibre neuropathy, prediabetes, metal in dental work including white composite filling material surrounding molars, excellent/sensitive hearing, eustachian rube dysfunction, and multiple wifi networks and machines surrounding a person especially in high density small apartment and studio living. I believe this topic needs researched without hindrance. I personally have experienced side effects and found when the wireless is turned off, I sleep better. There is something there that needs to be explored and exposed. It should be treated no different than the warning labels on cigarette packages or prescription drugs.
EMF I got headaches with AT&T GSM phones because their frequency is hard. It can go through the elevator. I think it’s the 851 you need to do something about that. Verizon seems to be better the CDMA.
Electric cars are hard to sit in not even for a few minutes because I can feel the radiation here measure it above 3milliguass and you need to have standards to make it go below1,2 milligauss the average house. EMF is mostly 0.2 or up 0.6 in American Home so you cannot have a car which is near high power lines 5 milliguass, there’s a big battery below the kids seats, adult seat, senior seats
Call me for details , do testing of EV cars
