ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. As someone who started to suffer from chronic, unexplainable headaches around the time our electric company began wireless energy usage transmissions--without our knowledge, I would like some answers. We need thorough research to be certain this technology does not pose a threat to our health. We are energetic beings, and to reject out of hand that these technologies could affect our biology is both myopic and foolhardy. I am an adult, who albeit very well may be more sensitive than most, but what about children's developing brains, or migratory wildlife that relies on magnetic fields to complete their journeys? I support HHS taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge HHS to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard and for leaving no stone unturned in the endeavor to safeguard our health from any potentially harmful technology.

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of an individual and parent, concerned for each of us, for all of us, and for the natural world. When I hold my cell phone, whether texting or talking, for any longer than a couple of minutes - I experience a sensation like an electrical current wherever it is in contact with my body. If the duration is longer, these sensations travel up my arm, or spread across my ear and skull. This has been happening ever since I purchased a smart phone (a good many years ago). I did not have these experiences with my first Nokia phone. When I am traveling, camping, or staying in places where cell phone signals are not as available, and where there is no wifi, there is a noticeable difference in my sleep, and my mind is often calmer and clearer. Over time, I have become increasingly avoidant toward my phone, simply because my physical experience of it feels like harm. When these symptoms first began, I actually read through the instructions/disclaimer that came with my smartphone (in the tiniest print imaginable). It was recommended that your phone remain 5 feet away from your body to avoid using it in a way that may not be safe. This is not how people use their phones: they live in our hands, in our pockets, and against our head and ears. I don't think it is a leap to expect that any risks are greater to the smaller, still developing, bodies of our children. We as a country seem to have lost our desire to balance risks & costs with technological development and profit. There is a palpable sense that most people in the tech industry have stopped valuing individual human life, and moreso just want reliable consumers. They make products (including apps and the devices themselves) that are addictive, and now are all but required for many to participate in education, banking, and business. Tech leaders talk about the benefits, but don't seem to care one bit that they are not often experienced by the wider public without significant costs to the basic health and quality of life of children and adults. Under the guise of improving life, digital systems are constructed and implemented primarily for massive profit without any real public consent. Data centers devour water, land, natural habitats, communities, and electricity, and cell phone towers are placed wherever they can be as laws are pushed that would prohibit any protest by homeowner, landowner, or collection of voices. This is not a direction of care or consent. It is a steamroller forward over whatever is in its way. I support HHS taking an active role in examining existing and potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard.

ORIGINAL COMMENT · UNEDITED TEXT
Hey There HHS, You requested public comments about “Wireless Radiation,” Wireless Technology and the subcategories that go with it… So my comment is below… I am a private citizen, writing with concern for my health and my communities health. My life would be socially more abundant if the telecom companies, and our entire country, would get rid of all wireless technology. I live in multifamily housing. I have no control over my neighbor’s use of wi-fi or where they place their routers and other remote devices. Friends have refused to visit me b/c the EMF’s(R’s) in my home are so intense they cannot relax. Probably why my sleep is terrible even though my router, cell phone and PC are off. I cannot hold my cell and talk w/o my hand going numb. Also, I’ve met people who become exhausted and/or get migraines from smart meters and/or wi-fi. BTW my old dial-up phone and answering machine, had significantly clearer sound quality than most all cellular, or cordless landline phones. I lived for decades without a cell phone and it wasn’t a problem. Although, I’m not as overtly abused as some people are, and probably I haven’t noticed all the harm wireless technology is doing to me, I’m still annoyed and seriously concerned about our collective mental, emotional and physical health. Therefore, I am asking HHS to broadly and deeply investigate the damage wireless tech is doing to humans, non-human animals including bees, and plants. Thank You

A commenter identifying as a physician discusses sensitivity and mold-related susceptibility, proposes me…

I am a doctor from Cornell medical school and I’m an expert in EMF having been very sensitive myself and gotten better over the last 25 years. A radiologist did a study showing the changes in the blood flow on Doppler ultrasound of the popliteal vessels When the cell phone has been applied this is what happens when my patients or my self holds the phone to the head and we get dizzy and ischemic symptoms. Mold exposed patients of which there are obviously many tens of millions in the country have damaged to the voltage, gated calcium channels, and are therefor more susceptible to this Injury. There’s a Netflix series about my work called afflicted I’m an episode six the most but episode one is about EMF and I suggest that you guys watch it. is correct about the effect of radio frequency radiation on the body and we should be mitigating this in schools by using wired computers less industrial Wi-Fi if any and no cell phones close to the students or teachers. We must educate the country about this area and I am available Environmental Health trust has done a lot of research in this area And Devra Davis has been a leader in this field and colleague. I presented in Congress to the veterans health subcommittee and help to raise $100 million for toxic exposure research and veterans as they often suffer from the syndromes unknowingly often due to toxic exposure, mold exposure, etc. The mold act was written 10 years after I presented to the committee and congressman Bilrakis who subsequently created the mold act to be voted on this year. It is time that traditional Physician’s learn from those of us who have become ill and stop calling us names. I have written an EMS related resolution in the medical society of Massachusetts as well as the importance of taking an environmental history. Which means when you get symptoms like the cell phone heating up in your hand or a headache did you just expose yourself to radiation that gave you the symptom. Of medical note Trisalts can alkanalize the body and reduce such symptoms. You need a committee on Environmental Health and Medicine to advise you in this area. I would be happy to participate and have letters of reference from NIEHS And I have clinical experience as well as personal experience with this unbelievable symptomatology of being environmentally ill. You can see me discussing EMF on the doctors and Dr. Phil as well. The other experts can give you specifics on frequencies and different types of radiation, but I’m a medical doctor and I can tell you about the symptoms and the treatment

I had EHS since at least 2015 when my dentist told me I have it (Sydney, Australia). With extreme mould exposure recently those old same symptoms have manifested strongly. Power lines and cell towers create stupidity, fatigue, memory loss, occasioanl 'too much effort to breathe in' situations where it seems as if I just 'stop'. My doctor metnions a relationship between the mould and my EHS. I've yet to be able to afford more tests for confirmations in the normal sense of the word. Hopefully with treatment my mould exposure can be ameliorated. Then hopefuly my EHS will revert back to 'lower' level pre mould exposure so that I cn function normally in society (ie. work in an office replete with emf/rf).

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding as a concerned member of the public with a a number of health issues. I honestly have no idea what part EMFs, RF, or wireless radiation plays, but it plays some part based on all the research I've read and talks and podcasts I've heard. I strongly encourage HHS to take an active and SCIENTIFICALLY GOLDEN role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of wireless radiation. There are now countless towers in my area! In one local canyon in our mountains that's about 15 miles long, I counted at least 9! That's nearly one per mile. It's a recreation canyon with very little residential population. So what's the point of all those towers? At a minimum, they're super ugly. But then all that radiation in what is mostly wildlife habitat? If radiation affects humans, it affects wildlife. The key words in my comment are: please conduct the research and make sure it is SCIENTIFICALLY GOLDEN! Please use Real Experts with NO conflicts of interest. And experts in all kinds of different fields. I repeat. Real experts with NO conflicts of interest and all relevant fields. Thanks so much for doing the RIGHT thing for Americans (and the rest of the world).

I think it is insane to erect cell towers near peoples homes and schools because people have been getting sick. This must stop until the electro magnetic radiation has been scientifically tested to see the affect it has on humans animals and the environment!

I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient. I have been trying to recover from toxic mold exposure and have ME/CFS so I am very sick and unable to work. I have noticed whenever I am near my phone or using my cell phone, I start to feel very ill after about an hour. I get extremely tired with dizziness and brain fog. I also can get headaches and neurological issues, such as difficulty walking. I have a feeling the EMF from the phone is making my brain even more inflamed than it already is from the mold mycotoxins and ME/CFS condition. I would really appreciate it if the HHS could figure out exactly why I feel so awful after using my phone. I am trying to heal from my conditions and want to better understand what factors impede the healing process and why. I am submitting this comment in response to HHS’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a patient and concerned member of the public. Wireless radiation has affected me for the past five years when making a cellular call. I experience pain in my hands when using my cell phone when making a call. Also, in my town of Woodstock, the Connecticut Siting Council has approved two cellular communications towers of 150 feet. These towers are within 3 miles of each other. There are 7 other towers in our town along with many others in the adjacent towns. There are many studies that show harmful impact on both human and wildlife. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard. Carl P. Cecil Woodstock, CT – The Quiet Corner of Connecticut

Thank you SO MUCH for opening this discussion! I have been telling people for decades that EMF / RF is like cigarette smoking -- smoking was everywhere, doctors endorsed it -- and then one lawsuit showed how much companies knew about the health problems, and it was gone. Time is valuable, so I will give a super quick overview of my personal experience with the problems with EMF / RF -- 1. When my son was a baby, he screamed whenever we drove past a cell tower. 2. When driving on the highway, I'll get a head ache, og over a hill, see the cell tower, think, "Oh, that is why my head hurts!", it will hurt until a hill is between me and it; until the next headache and the next cell tower revealed minutes later 3. I had to stop flying, after wifi on planes came, as I was getting nosebleeds 4. My horses take people cell phones out of their pockets and flip them into mud. 5. I wondered why I was getting pneumonia after concerts and similar large gatherings; it was being around so many people in such a small space, with their cell, wifi and bluetooth antennas all blazing away 6. The keyless entry cars give me a head ache. 7. Everyone who has taken my advice, to turn wifi and cell phones off at night, has noticeably benefited 8. I sleep better after making sure that there are no live electric wires running in the wall behind my head 9. Tinnitus inside the house (with really high dirty electricity), but not outside, or when the power is off. 10. The bald eagles on my land have not been able to raise chicks in the nest that gets the full force of the cell tower; plus the high RF areas have killed my trees, including the tree with the bald eagle nest. 12. My children became unhappy and difficult when we moved to a high EMF/ RF area 13. Visitors to my hard-wired, no wifi house sleep better than elsewhere, in spite of the dirty electricity
