Calcium carries information.
Experiments show that calcium waveform characteristics can change downstream responses. There is no single healthy frequency for every cell; natural variability can be functional.
Dolmetsch et al., Nature (1998) ↗A signal can arrive too early, too late, too weakly—or when it was never needed. Explore how disrupted coordination could reduce biological resilience.
John Coates’ proposed synthesis: multiple stressors may erode the precision of cellular signaling and regulation, creating an upstream vulnerability that he calls a “meta-disease state.”
Watch membrane entry and delayed ER release spread through the cytoplasm.
In Coates’ framework, reduced fidelity creates vulnerability across systems. Tissue, genetics, developmental stage, exposure history and other stressors would determine which outcomes emerge.
Change the experimental condition to examine the logic of pathway involvement.

Experiments show that calcium waveform characteristics can change downstream responses. There is no single healthy frequency for every cell; natural variability can be functional.
Dolmetsch et al., Nature (1998) ↗Ion forced oscillation proposes an electrostatic route to voltage-sensor perturbation. Blocker sensitivity can support channel involvement, but cannot by itself identify the initial field sensor or prove this model.
Panagopoulos et al. (2021) ↗The gene-switch study implicates CYB5B and calcium dynamics under a controlled pulsed-field protocol. It does not establish a universal RF-to-S4-to-CYB5B chain.
Kim et al., Cell (2026) ↗ · CorrectionCoates proposes that disturbances can converge on regulatory precision and resilience. Linking this to earlier or more frequent disease requires outcome-specific evidence; the diagram is a hypothesis, not that evidence.
Explore the mechanism companion ↗A signal analogy, not a disease simulator. Twelve Gaussian pulses define a chosen reference message. Physiological signals vary with context; a regular trace is not a universal definition of health. “Cellular intelligence” here means sensing, processing, feedback and adaptive regulation, not conscious thought. “Noise” means departure from this specified reference, not all biological variability.
Source timing: source oscillations run at selected Hz / 50. The strip shows a fixed 250 ms source-time window. The cell and calcium diagram use a separate illustrative clock of 0.4 × the cellular-tempo setting reference intervals/s. This avoids suggesting that one 60 Hz field cycle produces one calcium wave. Signal timing is not a ranking of harm or a demonstrated biological resonance. For RF presets, the trace shows burst timing, not the carrier itself or a separately radiated ELF field.
Calcium pathways: violet fronts depict calcium entering through a voltage-gated channel pore; S4 is its voltage-sensing segment, not the calcium source. Amber fronts depict release from ER stores through calcium-release channels. Calcium-induced recruitment and IP3-dependent release vary by cell type; this composite illustration is not a universal obligatory sequence. The ER delay of 0.28 reference intervals, propagation speed and ion tracks are illustrative. A calcium wave is a propagating change in local concentration, not the same ions traversing the entire cell. Moving dots depict local transport; expanding fronts depict concentration changes. Source-to-cell coupling remains the stated hypothesis. Example ER calcium-wave model.
Source references: Wi-Fi 100 TU = 102.4 ms gives 9.765625 Hz; GSM 60/13 ms frames give 216.6667 Hz; 5G NR 10 ms frames and 5 ms half-frames give 100/200 Hz timing references, not universal envelopes. Mains is a direct 60 Hz field. The CYB5B study used 60 Hz magnetic bursts, with 20 pulses in 5 ms and an 11.67 ms gap at 2.0 mT. The strip shows burst repetition only. See the companion’s sources and protocol notes.
Hypothetical disturbance: timing, amplitude and extra-pulse controls are normalized assumptions independent of source frequency. A zero source frequency removes the source-linked contribution; other stressors remain. Metabolic and inflammatory burden are generic illustrative categories, not a conversion from diet, pollution or any measured exposure. Their contributions add; selecting interaction adds a deliberately hypothetical cross-term. Buffering attenuates the assumed perturbation. None of these weights are fitted to experimental data.
Exact rules: let j, a, e, m, i, b be the sliders divided by 100; z = 1 if source frequency is above zero, otherwise 0; g = 1 − 0.75b. Let h = 0.35mi if interaction is selected, otherwise 0. Effective timing J = min(1, (zj + 0.3m + 0.25i + h)g); amplitude A = min(1, (za + 0.35m + 0.2i + h)g); extra-event parameter E = min(1, (ze + 0.2m + 0.35i + h)g). Pulse k is centered at k + 0.5 + 0.42J sin(2.17k + 0.6), with amplitude 1 + 0.65A sin(1.73k + 1.2), width 0.09 reference intervals. Up to round(8E) extra pulses appear at fixed reproducible locations, amplitude 0.35 + 0.4E.
Metrics: timing error is RMS center displacement / reference interval; amplitude error is mean absolute peak-amplitude deviation. The toy decoder recognizes an intended pulse only if timing is within 0.16 intervals and amplitude within 0.3 of its reference. Extra pulses are counted separately. These arbitrary decoder tolerances describe this demonstration, not clinical limits. The visual disturbance level is the mean of J, A and E; branch brightness is illustration only, not organ damage or disease probability. Reset removes imposed disturbances, not the consequences of real disease.
Testing the framework: a useful study would measure exposure at the sample, temperature, calcium waveforms and outcomes; use sham and blinded analysis; compare waveforms while controlling field strength and dose; test calcium-channel and CYB5B perturbations with appropriate controls; and separately test interactions with other stressors. Blocker and knockout results need specificity checks and cannot establish population disease effects on their own.
