My now 34-year-old son with autism suffered for 8 years from severe neurodermatitis where he would scratch his legs until they bled. When we did readings of EMF's in his environment and removed or attenuated the sources, the problem resolved. His speech is very limited, but about cell phones he will say, "Put it away." In the autism community creating a sleep sanctuary with very low EMF's is a first line intervention that improves behavior, sleep, speech acquisition. We must ask to what extent the proliferation of high radiofrequency devices is fueling the unabated autism epidemic.
Independent research (not funded by telecommunications companies) has shown a clear link between RF radiation and serious health issues in children, adults and flora/fauna.The FCC should follow the guidelines of BioInitiative Report 2012 unless clear scientific evidence shows that a different level of rf exposure is safe. I am submitting this comment in response to FCC’s Request for Information on Electromagnetic Fields (EMFs), Radiofrequency (RF) Radiation, and Wireless Radiation Exposure. I am responding from the perspective of a chronically ill individual dealing with pain and fatigue. In my search for answers to alleviate my pain and exhaustion, I learned about EMFs and how they damage the long-term biological health of our cells and prevent healing according to Dr. Devra Davis, Dr. Martin Pall, and Dr. Deitrich Klinghardt. So I decided to do my own experiment to see if eliminating sources of EMFs would make me feel better. I had 2 certified building biologists come into my home and do an assessment of the current EMFs. I had high levels of magnetic fields due to nearby powerlines, moderate levels of electric fields due to in house wiring mistakes, and extreme levels of wireless radiation in the home (according to Building Biology guidelines) due to wireless devices throughout my home. The building biologist suggested the following: 1) I turn off the electricity at night to combat the electrical fields in certain rooms, 2) I hardwire everything in my home and eliminate all RF and Wireless devices, and 3) obtain a Qi Machine that is suppose to help neutralize the various EMFs and create a more balanced energy field. I did all 3 of these suggested changes, and I had really great results with my severe back pain and overall body aches and fatigue. I still suffer from these ailments, but I went from a 9 out of 10 to a 6 out of 10 by making these changes. I even did multiple experiments where I would take the 3 suggestions and turn them on one night and turn them off the next. The results were consistent and my pain/fatigue would re-surge when I exposed myself to the EMFs, or the pain/fatigue was reduced when I made the changes each night and removed the EMFs as much as I could. I have noticed since I made these changes in my home, I have developed an almost 6th sense to when someone is sending/receiving on their cell phones. I have developed a heightened sense that occurs in my brain when signals are present and close by. This further deepens my experience as these EMFs should really be studied. I support FCC taking an active role in examining the potential health and environmental effects of EMFs and specifically, wireless radiation. Questions about human health should be addressed by federal agencies with appropriate expertise in medicine, biology, epidemiology, and public health, and the experiences of individuals and families who report being affected should be considered alongside the scientific evidence. I urge FCC to carefully evaluate these experiences and the scientific evidence, identify gaps in current research, give particular attention to children and other potentially vulnerable populations, and establish appropriate federal research priorities regarding wireless radiation and public health. Thank you for providing individuals and families with an opportunity to be heard!
I am writing regarding the FCC’s response to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals’ remand concerning its decades-old radiofrequency (RF) radiation exposure guidelines. The Court directed the FCC to provide a reasoned explanation for its determination that its guidelines adequately protect humans against harmful effects of RF radiation unrelated to cancer. Specifically, the court required the FCC to address the impacts of RF radiation on children, the health implications of long-term exposure, the ubiquity of wireless devices and technological developments, impacts on the environment, and the adequacy of the FCC’s testing procedures for cell phones and other portable devices. The FCC should fully consider evidence and real-world experiences concerning the health and environmental impacts of wireless radiation, including non-cancer health effects, impacts on children, long-term and cumulative exposure, cancer, and impacts on wildlife and the environment. The FCC is not a health agency and does not have expertise in medicine, biology or public health. Yet, the agency continues to assert authority over RF exposure standards and is preparing to reach conclusions about whether its existing guidelines adequately protect the public. I urge the FCC to recognize the critical role of federal health agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and to rely on appropriate health and biological expertise when addressing the issues identified by the court. This issue matters to me personally because of what I have witnessed change in the environment since the increase of wireless communications and electro magnetic frequencies. The incidence of all cause cancers seems to be on the rise. Public anxiety is more evident. Lives are disrupted by the continual bombardment of information from cell phone and computer use. Driving and bike riding are more dangerous with the increased use of cell phones. The level of surveillance has become an invasion of privacy. I urge the FCC to give meaningful consideration to the experiences and evidence before it and to fully address each of the issues identified by the court.
