Buried copper wiring is safe, dependable and generally fireproof. The electricity comes from a distance, so the telephone line will work during a local fire. Cell phones emit electromagnetic radiation that makes some people sick. Cell phone towers emit even more radiation. I use a 4G flip phone carefully, but cannot switch to 5G, that would make me ill. I've tried using friends' phones. It's not fair that cell towers pollute the air all around them without homeowners having any control over where they are placed. I worry about our children in school, also.
