Numbers related to questions are provided. \n(2) \nI am an individual consumer. \n(3) \nI am a retired Navy Journalist. I served as a broadcast journalist and was stationed overseas in the 80’s and 90’s. I lived and worked next to broadcast satellite dishes, air stations, ship radar systems and worked with various other unique technologies throughout my career. I served as a Web Manager for an Army headquarter command for about a decade and was a huge fan of using and learning technology until suddenly, I could not tolerate exposure. \n(a, b, c) \nI am affected by radiofrequency (RF) radiation and pulse-modulated RF radiation. Cell phones, DECT phones, wearables or anything that I touch will cause an immediate reaction (burning, skin redness, pain, headache, high frequency sound, heart palpitations, dizziness, hair standing up on arms, impaired vision etc). A downward spiraling of symptoms will follow depending on strength of signal and amount of time exposed to include muscle pain, brain fog, insomnia, fatigue, weakness, and irritability. \nI can feel and must take action to move away from someone that is using a cell phone within 5 feet of me and I am affected at a slower and more generalized frequency and degree if I am in the vicinity of wireless frequencies (sitting in a doctor’s office, inside a store etc). It takes hours to recuperate depending on strength of signal and duration of exposure. It makes the most sense that I have long-term cumulative exposure but honestly, I do not know. \n(d) \nI suddenly became unable to tolerate even short-term exposures after an injury to my spine and nerves after a drunk driver hit me from behind while sitting at a red light in 2007. \nIt took years to understand what was happening. I had irregular symptoms that doctors did not recognize and had never seen. In 2013, I attempted to follow the scientific method and added and took away each piece of technology in my home until it became clear that I needed to remove anything having to do with wireless technology (modem, laptop, DECT phone (horrible!) etc. \n(e) \nI met with neurologists, primary doctors, and therapists (mental and physical) looking for answers. In the early years, some suggested that I get mental counseling. Over the years, doctors became more open to believing me and ultimately attempted to protect me from exposure. Current Doctors agree that the science and human health studies have not caught up with the fast pace that society is introducing this technology. \n(f) \nI now have everything in my home hard-wired. There is no “treatment” that I am aware of. The only treatment that has worked for me is to limit exposure. This is challenging in today’s environment. I must remain aware of the equipment and devices that are around me (ipads, TV’s, appliances, security cameras, vehicles etc) as they put out their own signals. I live in a city, and they have built cell towers/added amplification to increase coverage while also increasing the strength of the signals that are being transmitted. All of these actions have been taken without proper studies of human health and what it is doing to the environment. I understand that both low and high frequencies can be harmful. If I could offer any advice for people, it would be to use “wired” versus “wireless” at every chance possible. \nOnce the sensitivity sets in then life changes.\n(g) \nI spent years looking for peer reviewed science. It wasn’t until I found bioinitiative.org and the thousands of studies that it contains that I learned that I was not the only one suffering. \nI still have a voice and have created a safe environment at my home, but I know there are many children and seniors and disabled who cannot speak for themselves and may not even understand that exposure is actually worsening their symptoms. \n\n","source_hash":"a8d3ef521a1fea1dd4eb0d4bce16b6365f828955221e645681ddbd602a39fb76","filing_type":"","proceedings":"","captured_at":"","source_name":"","number":"6264","withheld":false,"attachment_inventory":true,"capture_reviewed":false,"source":"https://www.regulations.gov/comment/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264","slug":"child-development-comment-6264","tags":[],"attachments":["https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_3.pdf","https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_1.pdf","https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_2.pdf"],"attachment_names":{"https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_3.pdf":"suggestions","https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_1.pdf":"Federal Research Priorities","https://downloads.regulations.gov/HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264/attachment_2.pdf":"studies"},"classification":{"id":"HHS-OASH-2026-0397-6264","body_sha256":"6696df46cee44b781d3d20ba957406a7ef9ebb146535b4c7d7590d19ab001233","status":"ai_reviewed","primary_topic":"occupational","topics":[{"id":"occupational","evidence":" am a retired Navy Journalist.
